Also, we have a room in the basement with a " window " that looks out to another wall. To top it all off there is no elevator and the stairs are very narrow and steep. The phone is out of service. Kindly, the man gave us a second floor room, which is third floor American without an elevator. This room is designed better for our luggage, and they will bring our bags up for us. Because we are older, the stairs are difficult. I don't recommend this hotel for anyone staying more than one night.

We arrived early and were told to wait but that they'd have a family room ready for us soon.... 3 hours later I walked up and they assigned us a room on the 7th floor. We ended up switching rooms as this room smelled moldy and the dish washer was leaking. It did have a great view of an apartment complex with a courtyard. Our new room assigned was 508. Although it was a much better room and has two windows. This family room had a better view. We were in a corner room. Unfortunately, the linen room door used by the staff next door, banged incessantly from about 6am to 9am. It was horrible!!! I did not have one good night of sleep. Also, the bathroom floor needs a deep cleaning as the grout lines were stained. Now location was great for proximity to the Underground (Earl's Court) but horrible for restaurants. We were very close to a Tesco though- which has groceries and clothes etc. we want to the hotel's included breakfast once. It was pretty good but quite busy. The staff were great and kept the food coming. Would I stay here again? No, but would I recommend for someone on a budget, yes.

Pleased as punch. I…read morehad the great fortune to stay here during my short stay in London this spring. As a sometimes lone traveler, a hotel made sense for safety, but I was surprised and pleased with this small boutique hotel. Rooms are gonna be tiny in London for the $$, so plan accordingly. I stayed in a Classic King room which was comfy but had very little space to circulate. I was concerned being on a busy street/Cromwell, but because of the *double windows* (interior ones opens up/down), it was joyfully quiet, just a whisper of car noise. It's something I wish more places in the US had, especially when you face noisy streets. I realize second windows are usually for the cold, but street noises can be pervasive and affect every day life. I slept very well, every night. A couple of stand out staff members: -the front desk manager on my arrival had some hot early gray tea delivered since I survived a 10+ hour trip (little sleep), so it was a nice way to wake up. Also, some biscuits were delivered later. -staff member who brought up my suitcase, my tea, and helped get a requested small refrigerator into my room. -two front desk people (woman then a man), helped me figure out how to get from the hotel to Paddington for a early morning flight. The gentleman called to request a black cab since the Tube wasn't open and he went out with me to greet the cab driver and help me with my bag. -Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The location was also good. I didn't want to be in the thick of tourists, so staying in South Kensington worked for me. The tube stations (Earl's Court and Gloucester Road stations) were about 8-10 minute walk). Thank you for making my stay in London comfortable and enjoyable.

When we were leaving we needed a cab but the trains were on strike so we didn't end up getting one but the very very nice man at the front desk called every cab place in the area and was able to give us directions to a bus. Overall if I come back I'll definitely be staying here again!
This was my second visit to London in two years. The first time I stayed in a tiny hotel room so I…read morewanted to see what else was available without paying too much. The hotel had to meet a few requirements: 1) free breakfast. 2) Comfortable room 3) Be located near an Underground station 4) reasonably priced. This met them all by being a well-known brand, without breaking the bank. The employees are friendly and helpful as well. The hotel is located a 5-10 minute walk from the District and Piccadilly lines as well as the West Brompton train station. If you are in town for a football match at Stamford Bridge (Go Chelsea!) you are about a 10-15 minute walk away. The hotel and lobby is very nice and clean. My room was very comfortable with a decent sized bathroom. It was clean with the exception of some mildewed grout in the shower. The breakfast was better than most. Lots of choices for food and drink. Plan it carefully because the later you sit down to eat, the more crowded it is. At times it was hard to find a clean table to sit at. And although it's supposed to start at 7 am we were able to grab some food at 6 am one morning. At night they serve drinks at a small bar. Considering how expensive London can be, this place offers a lot at a reasonable price. There are plenty of pubs and markets minutes away. I will definitely stay again next year.

Fantastic location close to 2 Tube Stations, we had a quick, easy and friendly check in and our room was ready early which we appreciated after our travel day! The room was well sized for London - we were traveling as a party of 4 and the room had 2 queen sized beds and a pull out sofa bed - all of which were very comfortable. Great bathroom with one of the best hotel showers we have come across and L'Occitane amenities. Dual vanities. Despite the crazy unprecedented London heat our room started cold - now if you are from the US and used to blasting freezing AC in the room - the UK does not operate like that but the room was cool and a great temperature There was a lounge for platinum and above guest with afternoon appetizers and drinks - we did not make use of this as we were always out and about but the included breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic with lots of healthy options, the best - and what appeared to be in house or locally baked bread - omelette station and so much more! This hotel was fantastic and I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

I used my Marriott AMEX Brilliant free night award combined with Bonvoy points. 75k per night. Later I realized other great reasons to stay here. 1) It's a very short walk to Earl Court tube station. Take the short cut as you walk down the hotel one way driveway to Hogarth Road. Then it's 5 minutes to the tube entrance. Catch the Piccadilly line to Heathrow. 2) there's an executive lounge onsite. Located sub level. Stocked with bottled beverages, water dispensers, and hot food 5:30p-7pm daily, wine & beer served then, as of this writing the espresso machine broken, and 3) included breakfast in the Cast & Iron restaurant. Friendly hotel staff. The concierge Ash was very nice. He actually walked us outside down the hotel driveway to show us how easy it was to get to Hogarth Road. The hotel proximity to two underground tube stations was a big plus. And a very short walk to Kensington High St shopping district and restaurants was nice and convenient. Our hotel room was tight but that's London. Came with a Nespresso machine and several pods. Two bottles of still water daily. I'd consider staying here in the future.

Black mold everywhere! Absolute worst hotel we have ever stayed in. A danger to your health staying…read morehere! When checking in, we were told we were upgraded. What a joke! I noticed reviews here saying to avoid the basement so when I heard Room 602, I thought "oh good, the 6th floor". Wrong! Rooms starting with "6" are all in the basement. Immediately upon entering the room, the most damp, rotten, and moist smell. Being in the basement, you can't open the single small window. We thought it was coming from the AC so we turned it off and heading out to sight see on our last day in the city. When we came back at around 10pm, the smell was even worse. We narrowed down the smell to originating from the bathroom. I thought it was coming from the drain but soon realized there was black mold growing on the tile grout, the wood on the door, and even the shelves on the wall. How can room service or management not see this? The bathroom fan was broken and probably has not been working in months, which is why so much mold has grown from the shower moisture. These rooms are never properly cleaned and it's shameful they've been neglected this long. It honestly smelled like a house which has been flooded with sewer water. The moldy smell gave us headaches and coughs. Now past 10PM, it wasn't worth us arguing to get another room so we decided we'd just check out at 5AM and just head to the airport early. The room itself was not great either. The bed was rock hard and the security safe did not work. Carpets were stained and artwork/mirrors had layers of dust on them. When checking out, we told the guy at the front desk how atrocious and unsafe the room was with the black mold and smell. He just said he would let management know. That's it! There wasn't a sincere apology or even an offer for partial reimbursement. I doubt him or management will do anything as there are many review with similar experiences here that I wish I had seen prior. He informed us our receipt would be emailed and didn't even say have a good day or anything. Sad! It's now, 2 days since checking out and I noticed 2 charges on my credit card statement from Hotel Indigo as if I stayed 2 nights there. I had to contact them to send my receipt again and finally received it. Now I'm waiting to get this second charge removed and getting over a cough from staying in the room. Do yourself a favor and do not stay here! For over $300 a night, there are many better options in London. Your health matters and this place should be shut down. Do not fall for the "you've been upgraded" junk. I look forward to hearing their canned response to my review here.
