Exit Garage doors was sent out by my home warranty. They immediately told me that the repair needed was not covered by the warranty. They wanted to come back, replace rollers and do some repairs to the tune of almost $400. They were there no more than 10 minutes, Did not touch anything, just ran the door up and down and I paid $85 for the service call. It felt move like a sales pitch than a service call. Today another company came in. For a $95 service fee my door runs beautifully. The rollers were fine. The issue was never mentioned by door pros. They hardly took the time to look at the door. If you have First American Home Warranty do not let them send out EXIT company under any circumstance. George, who came out from EXIT told me the that the FAHW would approve only $250 towards a new motor and that after deducting the $250 I would only have to pay the balance of $1140. Very insulting to think I would fall for that BS. Told him to forget it and called AHW back to see what else I could do. I then found from AHW out that now, after I told the EXIT Co. tech George, no, he reported back to FAHW that he determined my problem was "not covered." "Not Covered" after he just told me it was covered for $250 credit on the motor towards a new one. First American Home Warranty was very helpful and send out another technician who reported back to FAHW that in fact it was covered. FAHW tried to send EXIT garage company again to fix my garage opener and before EXIT would come out, I was told it would be at least $195 up to $395 to replace the motor and tune up and adjust the doors under my warranty. I cancelled the appointment with EXIT, and I am now getting it fixed by different company. read more

Jesse came out replaced our belt and bar - tuned up and revamped my garage door. Door works better then it did when it was brand new.

I contacted our home warrany company because the garage door would not close on occation, but motor was working. When the technition arrived and "diagnosed" the problem, I could see he was trying to take advantage of the situation. I was told the door needed to be "realigned" and springs adjusted. Cost for the 10-15 minute job would be $220 (in addition to the $75.00 service call). An additional $100, would have been expensive for a very quick repair/adjustment with no parts, but $220 was beyond agregious. The tech also informed me that I would have to pay an additional 3%, if payment was by credit card. Other people on Yelp have reported the same experience with them. It's a shame so many contractors are taking advantage of people right now, because they are busy and "because they can". read more

Garage door stopped lifting. Called my Warranty Company American Home Shield. Contractor called within the 24 hour window, but was unable to fit me into schedule for 6 days. Fortunately was able to operate Garage Door Manually though at 81 it was not easy. Maybe thats because they based in Riverside and my home is in Indio. Nevertheless they showed up as promised though near end of service window and I was kept apprised by texts from AHS and Exit technician. Technician was amiable and knew his stuff and door was repaired and function restored in a matter of 10 minutes. Was charged standard advance service fee per AHS which is now $100. Technician also suggested some additional service for my 21 year old Garage Door opener, which I am considering and may schedule in the future. Only complaint was the 6 day wait and inconvenience for a repair which was easily accomplished by replacing a covered part in the opener. Perhaps AHS might consider using contractors closer to the homestead. Nevertheless I am quite satisfied with AHS and Exit Garage Door . Kudos to technician Jesse. read more

Recommended by my home warranty company. This guy came over to my house, didn't even look for 2 seconds, he gave a false info to the home warranty company and said that the door wasn't balanced and it broke the gear of the garage door opener. OMG, the home warranty company said they won't cover this person from exit garage company gave me a quote of 3k. I was so frustrated, don't know what to do. My friend asked me to contact someone from thumbtack. I wanted to give it a try. The guy from thumbtack (Best garage door), a different company came over this time. He did a great job, did a multipoint inspection, inspected every inch of the garage door and he was there for barely 5 minutes. Finished all the inspection and said I know what is wrong. He just tightened a screw, boom the garage door was functioning without any issues. Its been several weeks now, everything works normal. Best Garage door refused to charge me for this I paid $100 because they spent their valuable time for me. Never go with Exit garage door. Scammers!!! read more

Exit garage door technician Jesse came for about 10 minutes. He saw my door go up but not down because as I told him the unit doesn't work consistently any more and sometimes not at all. He wrote on the work order that he recommended a new garage door opener. He also told AHS that there was no problem with the door and that it was a remote/signal problem. So of course AHS denied service because Jesse stated no problem with door, but that it was a remote problem! Wrong! It at least need a new electrical/board replacement as it will not recognize the electrical signal any more. 2 mixed messages..one to me and one to Home Warranty AHS. Don't use them. I have a 2nd opinion pending. Not recommended. Didn't even pull the rear panel of opener or do any diagnostics! read more

Was referred by home warranty. Worker came out and right away said the garage door needed a $295 out of pocket service before they would fix what was covered by the insurance. Given the door did need to be balanced but the worker did not even try to adjust the spring. He kept saying the wheels on the door were old and all needed to be replaced. Even when I questioned how the wheels affected the weight of the door he never mentioned anything about the spring. Long story short we decided not to waste our time with the home warranty insurance or this company trying to up sell customers. We called another company and got the spring adjusted and a whole new garage opener for $200! Instead of fixing our old one and replacing the wheels on the door for close to $300. I read a lot of reviews and asked my home warranty company for a different vendor, they said that I had to use them. Well wouldn't you know, they tried to upsell me on every thing, wanted me to get a Garage door that I could control from my phone, that I needed an adjustment, my garage door was too heavy, and I needed new wheels. The garage door opener is 20 years and unless my garage door has gained weight, the size is just fine. The wheels were replaced last year. They just want to make money by upselling. Now my home warranty has denied the claim, because they do not cover all of the bogus shit that they wanted me to do. Exit was appointed by America home Warranty Company to replace a broken spring on my garage door. I called and made an appointment offering to send pictures and description of the door as it is a large custom door. They assured me they had all the standard springs available. Repairman arrived, took one look at it and said it was not standard and he won't do the repair. I had it done the next day and it was a standard spring. he simply lied to me as he didn't want to do the repairs I definitely would not have them do anything for me.
