Our garage door cable snapped, fell off track and jammed itself at a lopsided angle after 9pm on a week night! We contacted our usual, and highly recommended longtime Garage Door Repairman in the Chino Hills area who reports to be of emergency service 24/7 and could not even get a call back from a technician. We called repeatedly, spoke with the empathetic answering service rep who assured us she was giving him the messages, and she even called us back to update us to that point. Mike went above and beyond in what needed to be repaired. Our tension springs had broken on our garage door. To my surprise Mike came out to repair the springs within a couple of hours after I called. I wasn't expecting him to come out that same day. Especially because it was on a Sunday. This is the third time that I have used Protech to service my garage door needs. I gave them a call because my garage door opener stopped working and due to a previous repair I know it was due to a bad board. When I called Protech someone picked up the call right away and got me scheduled for the next day. When the next day came, Gus the service technician, called to let me know when he was going to show up. True to his word he showed up at the exact time that he said he was going to be there. Gus quickly confirmed that the issue was the board and then repaired the opener with a spare board that he had. The cost for the service was more than reasonable and Gus went above and beyond checking the rest of the openers mechanics to make sure that the opener was working the best that it could. Second time I've called Protech Garage Door's to come out and help us. The first time I was at work and my wife could not get the two car garage door to close. We called late in the afternoon not expecting anyone to help until the next day, but Mike came out within minutes and made a quick adjustment to the sensor "jiggled" trolley release. Shut the door closing within minutes. He didn't even charge us! That's why I called them back this past Monday for a repair job on our one car garage door. The house painters painted the door shut, and when we tried to open the door a few days later, it bent the top panel. There was no metal reinforcing bar at the top of it apparently. So we called for their help again, and had the pleasure of working with Moe. When he came over I thought we were just getting an estimate, but he told me he had the parts with him today and fixed 5e door within the hour at a very reasonable price. By The time he was done, we can no longer see the bend in the top of the door! the reinforcing bar was installed and he adjusted and lubed all of the chains and wheels and the door now operates smoother, quieter, and better than ever! The connecting bracket to my garage door was broken with two of the three bolts pulled out from the door. I called two companies to ask them for a quote based on this info, but they could not provide one. Mind you, I told them I was only looking for a ballpark range and wouldn't even hold them to that number. I was starting to think that garage door repairs were super complicated, so when the third company I called stated once again that they required a tech onsite, I begrudgingly set up an appt. I then saw the good reviews for Protech and decided to call one last company. I spoke with Mike and told him about the problem. He immediately gave me a $50 cost range for this repair without any additional info from me. This is a PRO! I set up an appt the same day and canceled the the appt with the other company. Mark gave me expert advice on my garage door upon inspection, confirmed the issue, provided the final cost within the original phone estimate, and then fixed the door without delay. I had previously had a bad experience with a different company installing a new garage door opener but now needed new springs and came across Protech and their great reviews.
