I'm extremely disappointed with the experience my mother and I had today at Exotic Nails in Pepperell, MA. We both went in for gel pedicures, and my mother also received a gel manicure. To be clear, this review isn't about the quality of the actual nail work, which was satisfactory--it's about the lack of accountability and poor management surrounding a clear pricing error on their end. When my nail technician asked if I wanted the spa pedicure, I requested to see the booklet listing all pedicure options. The spa pedicure was clearly listed at $39. I confirmed that's what I wanted, and my mother said she'd have the same. However, when it came time to pay, my total was $82. I paid by card, sent the tip to my technician separately via Venmo, and then returned to my car, where I began to realize the math didn't add up--even with extras like callus removal and the gel polish upgrade. I called the salon to inquire, and I was told that we had actually received the deluxe pedicure, which is $65, that the wording was "confusing" and that we should have known we were getting the deluxe because we've had pedicures there before. I explained that we based our decision on the menu provided to us during the visit, which clearly stated $39 for the spa pedicure. We were not informed at any point that we were being given the more expensive deluxe service, nor do we know the specifics of how their packages may have changed. I requested a refund of the difference between the 2 pedicure packages --$26 each--for being charged for a service we did not knowingly agree to. I was told that a refund would not be issued because the technicians "used more product," and again, that we should have known what service we were getting. Instead, I was offered a $10 discount for each of us. This response is unacceptable. A reputable business should take responsibility for its own mistakes, especially when the error stems from unclear communication and inaccurate menu information. We will not be returning. If this is how Exotic Nails conducts business, I encourage others to explore the many other salons in the area that value customer service and transparency. read more

Called looking for a base pedicure - mentioned I did not have the extra money for a spa pedicure - so could I have an appt with a person that is cool with that. I came in at the time they provided. The manager walked me over to the chair for my pedicure and asked - you want an upgraded spa pedicure? People around so I did not want to say I could only afford the base pedicure and just said no spa pedicure. Got my feet in water and the tech came over and asked what do you want - I said base pedicure. Not to take that as an answer - she said why not a spa pedicure, a lot of men get them here, etc. I understand that they run a business and want to upsell, however I did not appreciate the repeated upsell pressure. she has not started the pedicure so I said I no longer wanted anything and left. Usually have great service here, this time I fell rushed and brushed aside. My nails were not taken care of at all they look so dusty and so rough. Shapes feel uneven after I had to politely interrupt to correct the woman on the shape. I left feeling disappointed and unhappy about my nails overall. Gonna have to find yet another nail salon because places like this keep fumbling the ball. read more

Not happy with my last experience here. Got a gel polish change and they didn't even shape my nails. The first guy messed up my nails and the second guy had to come and fix them. 2 days later my nails started chipping and it's now been 5 days later and they are all chipping. My gel polish usually lasts up to 2 weeks. I'm very disappointed this time around. read more

Not normally one to leave reviews but after my visit today I felt it was necessary. First, I went in bringing my friends' 6 yr old daughter for her first mani/pedi. She was a little nervous and hesitant as she was not really sure what would be happening other than getting her nails polished. Her technician (whose name I unfortunately did not get) was so, so gentle with her. She was so thoughtful, explaining why they probably should not do hot stones (I agreed), making sure the towel was not too hot, giving her such a gentle massage, and just generally so very patient. It made all the difference for her first experience! Second, I went in with 2 ingrown toenails from running (one being extremely painful). My technician (again, I forgot to get a name) was so great. Literally spent 15 minutes working on them to make sure he got them out with as little discomfort as possible. Could not sleep the night before from the pain and walked out after with not even a little soreness! It's things like the above the make business great.....so I would highly recommend them!! read more

I visited Exotic nails yesterday for the first time and am pretty disappointed with how my SNS mani came out. (I know, I know, First world problems). I'll start with the positive: the place is nicely decorated and has a spa-like vibe. Tranquil music, low lighting & doesn't have the heavy smell of a typical nail salon. The tools used came out of a sealed sterile package, which i appreciated. The nail tech (Jen) was friendly and made pleasant conversation, but seemed offended when I asked how long they've been in that location. (17 years FYI) Now for the not so positive: almost all my nails have a texture to them like what happens to regular nail polish if you touch it when wet. I was never asked about shape or length. I came in with square w/round edges - The length could be shorter but is not horrible. Most of my nails are square but some of my nails are round now & which just looks odd. I had a darker color prior, which wasn't taken off completely and you can see spots through new color which is lighter. Probably the most disappointing is some nails have bumps on them from where the powder wasn't filed down enough. She definitely noticed this when looking over my nails when they were finished but didn't offer anything to fix them. My nails were $40 +tip and I left feeling disappointed, even more so once I got out into brighter light and could see them more clearly. I will not be returning. read more

Went For dips and a pedicure. Let my toes dry for an hour and the polish still came off. The dips were like giant bubbles, asked them to fix it and finally just had to leave it's all over my fingers. $85 for something I have to have fixed. Don't recommend read more

I went to get a full set of acrylics and the quality wasn't the best for rhe price i paid. I asked him to do them a lottle thicker since I have lots of house work i have to do daily. These were actually the thinnest set I've ever gotten... Its been less then a week and there's gaps between my nail and the acrylic, and one popped right off completely. I went to get it. repaired and I now have one extremely thick nail that's notably shorter and it was not a pleasant experience. He was on the phone the whole time and didn't even ask whay shape i wanted and things that other salons do. Not recommended read more

I went in here for the first time a few days ago. I really liked it. The nail techs were all quite nice and went out of their way to add designs to my 9 year old daughters nails. I don't use acrylics and just got a pedicure and manicure but they both came excellent. The salon is nice and has a very relaxing atmosphere. However, above all, it was clean and all the tools used came out of an autoclaved package or were new. That's key. I would go here again in a heartbeat. read more

When I went to Exotic Nails I got a pedicure and the lady cut my foot, and after she cut my toe she asked what I wanted on my hands and I told her that I wanted gel. Then she asked to see my nails and said you can't get gel. So first she cuts my toe then she doesn't let me get what I wanted done with my fingers. After this I have never been back. read more

The place is nice and it's relaxing. I went to get a gel manicure and not even a week it was chipping. I went back and they fixed like 4 of the nails and the following day it chipped again. I didn't go back because it was the weekend and they were close. In addition to that I was embarrassed to go back and complain about it again. I had gone to a place in Nashua, NH that my gel manicure lasted three weeks. I would like to give it another try but I don't want to waste my money. Very disappointed in the service and quality of my nails. The nail tech kept checking her phone and stopped several times to text. Several times she just walked away without saying anything. I might have been acceptable if my nails were well done, but they were messy and uneven. I do not recommend this nail salon. read more

I made an appointment for 12:00 and had to wait 20 minutes. If you make an appointment you shouldn't have to wait that long. The inside of the salon is big and nicely decorated . Relaxing vibe. The pedicure was fine, the lady tried to up sell me on additional services but that is expected. I went to tip her and asked for change for a 10. She gave me two 5s. I consider this rude as if she was expecting me to leave her a $5 tip. Tips should not be expected, they are earned based on the service provided. I have had dip color done several times. I make an appointment and I'm always taken on time and they're fast, clean and an excellent looking color. Tools are sanitized and opened in front of me and my color lasts for at least 3 weeks. The shoulder massage is a nice touch although I don't always want it. I wish the staff spoke better English but love the quality and speed. read more

Everyone here is super nice! This salon is very clean, and the atmosphere is relaxing. They accept credit cards, but be sure to bring cash for the tip. I can't recommend Exotic Nails enough. I won't go anywhere else! read more

I had a mani Pedi. The technician was an older lady. I asked her to trim the toenails straight across and not trim down the sides. She smiled, nodded, then did exactly what I asked her not to do. She did a nice job, though- they look very nice. I asked for the standard mani-pedi which I believe would be $35. ( they have a list of Spa pedi's to choose from for more $) She told me the bill was $40. Not sure why, but I gave $48 because she did a nice job. She seemed unhappy with that---- I'm confused...I thought 20% tip was good. She left and never said thank - you or anything. I think we had a communication barrier and a math issue as well. She did not make an effort to talk to me, but spoke to her co- workers in her native language. I did try to talk to her but she didn't understand. That's fine- we don't have to chat..Just being friendly would be nice, though. I also hope i don't get any ingrown toenails from the way she trimmed them or an infection, because they only rinse off the pedicure tubs with water. That isn't enough to kill bacteria, especially the MRSA type. Also she wiped the manicure tools off with alcohol. HMmm aren't those already sterile in autoclaved packages?....The package was open, and I assumed she just opened it up, but maybe not. When I got home I put soem On Guard essential oil onto the soles of my feet to be on the safe side- for infection control. read more

Soooo disappointed. I had never had a manicure before, and I went here for the first time in January for my engagement photos. They did an incredible job with the french gel manicure. I had it in perfect condition for an entire month. The place is really nice inside and the people are quiet, but friendly. I went again in early September for my wedding mani and pedi. They looked great, but the day after I got it, the white tips of the manicure started crackling. Luckily it wasnt noticable enough during my wedding. Two days after the paint is chipping all off the edges of the nails and the entire tips are peeling off. Completely unacceptable. I am really disappointed because I can't do anything about it from my honeymoon destination. I guess I just won't return! Bummer. Thought I had found a gem. read more

This place is excellent! Half the staff are men so that was a little awkward at first but once you get used to them rubbing your feet it's fine! I've gotten several mani pedis here. They renovated last year and it's a very relaxing atmosphere, all updated decor. I rated four stars because you cannot tip on a card and their eyebrow wax technician wasn't very good. She got the job done but no tweezing afterwards so there were strays. read more
