Love this guys! I've been dreaming of trying wake surf. Never did it before. Our driver gave me some simple instructions and I did from the first try! No analysis paralysis, just get in to the water and try! He explained me the difference of wakeboarding and wake surfing, difference on the waves that the boat can create, went over the safety instructions and made sure we are safe. Anton the owner/operator took awesome care of me and my son today. We brought our foil board to learn how to ride it and booked an hour on Saturday. Due to the winds, Anton recommended we postpone for a day. He kept in touch and sent me info on the winds. We set out today and had so much fun that I extended it an hours. I cannot recommend this service enough! We are a family of 4 and had the boat for 2 hours with Alex. Our goal was to teach our teenage son how to water ski. Mission accomplished. Alex was super nice, patient and a pleasure. This was super easy. We showed up, Alex puts the boat in the water. All the equiptment was on the boat. Both my son and daughter water skied until they were tired and then the tube/raft came out for some more fun that doesn't require any effort and Alex pulled us behing the boat with smiles from myself and my daughter from ear to ear. Great fun! Then when were were done, Alex dropped us off at the dock and we drove away. It doesn't get any easier than that!!! So much fun! While the wake-boarding is fun, for the price, the service side can be better. Maria had someone else meet up with us. He did not greet us or introduce his name. He just saw us and told us to get on the boat. All this is fine, but he also moved fairly slowly helping us figuring out wetsuits etc. He didn't seem like he wanted to be there / or was very tired? While that would've been okay on a normal day, since we are booked by the hour, I would've appreciated if he could've moved a little faster and helped us make the most out of the time we booked. He also didn't really offer any instructions or a lot of tips, and all of us (except one other person) has never done this before, so we were hoping for more guidance. I wasn't sure if this was because of the slight language barrier. The one person who has done this before, said her previous guide (at a different company in a different state) offered a ton of tips and instructions, so it was a lot more engaging and you learn a lot more about wake boarding + wake surfing. We had 5 people, booked for 2 hours and all but one of us got to wakeboard more than one turn. I personally got up on my first try, stayed up for a while, finished my turn and never got to go back on after. For the price I paid, I was hoping I could have gone back up one more time after a break. Overall, there was a lot of lag time and I felt like he could have helped us done things more efficiently so we could make the most out of our 2 hours. Also, it may be important to note that upon our return by the dock, there were men with the sheriff waiting there to let him know that he still didn't have to right documentation to have a business + operate the boat and was going to be fined again. Not sure if that could be a potential safety hazard? Hope they fix this issue soon! I really think they have a lot of potential, and i'm hoping this review could offer some useful suggestions: * Let customers know ahead of time what to bring, and where to meet. - swimsuit, towels, sunscreen, water, hoodie (hat, sunglasses, flip flops, snacks, camera optional) - There is a $11 entrance fee, and there is 3 parking lots. Park in the lowest lot that is right next to the lake, and walk to the dock to look for the boat (maybe even include a photo). - While we arrived early, we parked in the wrong location and it took us a while to get a hold of the guy so we ended up starting a little late. The phone number Maria provided to find him seemed to be one number off. Providing detailed information ahead of time would help make things go more smoothly. * People who can share the same wakeboard should take turns one after the other. We didn't realize that and kept changing boards in-between turns, so it took up unnecessary time. While wake-boarding /surfing was fun, and I love that its in a lake and not salt water, I am slightly hesitant to recommend this place yet due to the service. I hope they work on it so we can come again! read more

It's a RIPOFF! Don't even bother! Very disappointed with their service and their boat. We booked 3 times and they cancelled on us because the boat kept breaking, it's clearly old and doesn't great good waves. Finally they managed to book us and guess what the rope broke first thing while one of us was riding. The driver didn't give any directions nor was participating to make our time nice & fun. They told us we will be able to ride without vests and the driver didn't let us even though he saw 4 out of 6 of us were super experienced. Definitely don't recommend not worth the price. read more

Everyone wants to be understanding when a small business has "issues" at this time but this outfit had many discrepancies which led my gf to follow up with them. We introduced several friends to this and despite the fact that they canceled two weeks in a row we managed to convince everyone to come. They advertise IG photos without wearing life vests. The rope broke during our session and the driver did nothing to make sure it was secure enough for us to use so short and close to the boat. Beyond that, when asked to address these issues, the owner has retaliated by attacking us personally. Falsifying claims about alcohol use when none of us brought any with us...do not recommend for anyone. read more

To my surprise, I couldn't find a single place. All the places I called were either 5 hours driving away or out of business. Until accidentally I saw LA Wake school promo. I wasn't really hoping for anything but was quite impressed how quickly the guys responded and easily scheduled me for the next day. They were willing to come out even they just had me and my husband on schedule. They had a really beautiful new boat and new gear that felt nice to ride. It isn't easy to find a place for wakeboarding in LA area and I was very happy to visit the LA Wake. They have the best towing boat ever (Nautique G23 is officially wakeboard/wakesurf Boat Of the Year 2015 & 2016), and their driver/coach Derrey is absolutely professional and all-around very nice guy. Castaic lake is beautiful location, but keep in mind that the earlier you come the better conditions you'll get. Luckily the weather allows to be on the water the whole year round! We had an amazing time with Los Angeles Wake today. The experience was fantastic from my very first inquiry. Maria and Ilya were both quick to answer my many questions before I booked. We were 11 people on the boat ages 3-70. Ilya was a patient and kind instructor, teaching my children the proper positioning for wakeboarding and kneeboarding. He was encouraging and professional and 6 of my children wakeboarded for the very first time. He switched equipment to fit each child's needs. We went tubing as well. The boat was smooth and comfortable and my in laws who are not exactly thrill-seekers and were reluctant to join were glad they came along. We have done many different water-sports and my family unanimously agreed this was the best. Ilya was courteous and we enjoyed his guidance and his company. We can't wait to go back!
