The hot Hatha I've taken ranged from 105° to 110° and was very traditional so I felt like I could follow along even as a new student. We laughed and pushed through the class & she was very encouraging/personable which helped. I felt every part of my body activate like never before with any other exercise I've tried. The Trap Lab is a boutique, Black-woman-owned fitness and wellness studio. Founded by sisters Icea Pettigrew (aka Coach Toni) and Sharde Bullard, it serves as a culturally relevant, judgment-free space prioritizing physical, mental, and emotional wellness. Annnddddd....they JUST moved into their new bigger space!! Ive tried to be consistent and attend their Soulful Serenity Mimosa and Meditation event that happens every last Sunday of the month. No matter how crazy, overwhelmed, or tired we are, we always put extra effort to attend this event guided by Tawanna. A little stretching, a little meditation, a little sound bowl action...With 2026 being as crazy as it has been...I absolutely feel a difference. They have several other fitness classes. The new space is nice and large and can also host events. I saw a karaoke event being advertised....and even an intentional step walk club every 830am Saturday during the summer. Even the weekday classes before 4 PM were either pretty full or completely full. The studio itself is clean and well maintained. Just a heads-up : the showers are group-style (there's one for women, and I assume one for men), so no individual shower stalls. There are only a few toilets and the changing space is quite small, so it can get a little crowded before and after class. Overall, though, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this studio to anyone looking for quality yoga classes and great instructors. The price, atmosphere and teaching make it totally worth it!

I have locked in at their yearly rate, it has been a great investment. I initially thought that yoga could help with my flexibility, but it's been more than that. The mental and physical evolution has been instrumental to my health. I've gain so much confidence to the point where I now take showers with all the yogis after class! I remember seeing the showers early on and was, oh no, I can't do open showers without any curtains. This place has been so welcoming and non judgmental. I feel seen and respected here. The atmosphere is amazing, encouraging and professional. I think I've taken classes with the majority of the teachers at the studio. They each have their own style which is what I love. They are always willing and eager to help and answer any questions. The bathroom and showers are always clean. The studio is large and I love the wall of windows in the back. Of course during the summer it can get steamy in the room but the sunlight after a nice session is always a wonderful gift!
