Experimac Clearwater franchise owner Derrin Jones did a phenomenal job with my 7-year-old MacBook Pro, performing a total overhaul that involved replacing the hard drive, track pad, DVD drive, upgrading RAM and the operating system, and a thorough cleaning. He kept the machine a week - which was expected given the amount of work and parts that needed to be ordered - but stayed on deadline despite having a key employee out sick during that stretch. As a result of his work, I'm confident I'll get a few more years out of my laptop, which is running better than it did when it was new in 2010. Derrin kept me updated by phone and email. Along the way, he fixed a broken key on my kids' MacBook Air and even did a quick diagnosis (and fix) on my iPhone. He did all of this while remaining pleasant and professional, even though he seemed slammed with business -- both in the store and on the phone. My IPad screen was broken and I use it for work so I needed to get it repaired. I tried one place that wanted me to do everything on their website site. I just wanted to talk to someone. I called Experimac-clearwater-clearwater dropped it off to them late afternoon and even though they closed soon they had it fixed and ready for me to pick up first thing in the morning. The cost was even a better experience. I thought it would cost me a lot of money since it was an Apple product. They gave me a great price to get this done. The staff was also very friendly and explained the process to me thoroughly. I wasn't expecting it to be ready that day since they had other work but I recieved an email at 11:00 at night that it was ready. I have been contemplating switching from PC to Mac but was not sure I wanted to pay the premium price. I went to Experimax and the salesmen were really knowledgeable and helpful. I decided to buy a refurbished Mac Book Pro for a fraction of the price that a new unit would cost. This has helped me get oriented to using a Mac and I find that I prefer it to my other PC devices. I will probably buy a new Mac book someday, but in no hurry because this refurbished unit is working really well and I am pleased with my purchase. I would recommend someone else contemplating the switch to Mac to go to Experimax and start with a unit that they have refurbished. While visiting friends in Dunedin, I had a water bottle leak in my brief case and it stopped my Mac laptop cold. I found this store when I searched for Apple store. They are a certified Apply technician facility. They couldn't have been nicer and suggested a liquid damage repair, but were very clear there is no telling if it would work. They communicated via email every step of the way and were responsive to my update calls. They repaired additional internal damage they found under the same repair fee. While the process eventually didn't work, these guys were terrific!!! And the store is beautifully laid out with lots of options for Apple product sale and repair. They are the best. read more

took my laptop to another place and they were totally incompetent and misdiagnosed the problem and told me that it had to be sent out to their central location for mother board repair which would take 2 weeks. Brought it to Experimax and they said that it was not a mother board issue. they had it up and running in 24 hours and kept me advised every step of the way. read more
