I've been coming here for some time now and had no problems. I went here recently to get my phone fixed after the back shattered. For $180 they told me I should fix the front of my phone which had 2 cracks. After I got it fixed off of their recommendation my phone started glitching out and behaving worse than it was before it was 'fixed'. I came back because the sensor was broken and they fixed it just for it to break again 2 weeks later. My phone is worse off than before which I don't know how that's even possible. I don't want to rate them 1 stars because they're nice and pretty reputable, but the point still stands that I paid almost $200 for my phone to be worse off than before. I don't think I'll be coming back here unfortunately. read more

Vintage Machine? - No thanks, Genius Bar. So my battery completely died on my Macbook Pro (Vintage 2011) Hahahaha!! and after the Apple Geniuses told me to bring it in and they would replace it for $129 + tax I get there and they say... "Oh no - we can't replace the battery, it's a "vintage machine, you'll have to go to Simply Mac." (Phone call made to make sure BTW) Haul me and the machine over to Simply Mac - "Oh no - we can't replace the battery, it's a "vintage machine", you'll have to go to Experimac they work on "vintage machines" (this is killing me, cuz I know what "vintage" actually means.) Haul me and machine over to Experimac - "sure! we have that in stock right here", and 20 mins later I'm out the door with a brand new battery and my beloved "vintage Mac" total price $118. + a one on one human being to talk to! Save yourself the hassle and WAIT TIME for the "geniuses" that can't even bother to look up the serial number and tell me OVER THE PHONE that they can't replace the battery! My Imac was running slow after an upgrade to Catalina and I stopped by Experimax to ask them what they could do. I knew I couldn't add more memory! They instantly knew what to do so I brought my Mac desktop in and they installed a new drive (I don't know exactly what but it is partly solid state). A few hours later they had everything done and my computer is running blazing fast again. I was so happy I brought an older Mac in for more memory installed and it is running like new again too. I was afraid that I was going to have to buy a new computer but I now have 2 that are in great shape. They got back to me immediately (outside of business hours), and when I went in the next day they quickly resolved my issue without requiring a paid service, just a simple fix. Called to confirm that this location was currently buying iPhone xs with T-Mobile. Was told yes sure thing come on in (even said he spoke with owner). Go in and was told first thing that we don't buy T-mobile phones. So, I went over my prior conversation that I had the day before explaining that I was told they would buy. I was made a reasonable offer, but was told the offer was only good for 24 hours and would have to be unlocked first. I know the phone needs to be unlocked but there is no way it can be done that quickly. I feel like the offer was made knowing I wouldn't be able to take it. Most phone carriers quote up to 72 hours to unlock. read more

After fighting to get an appointment at the ridiculously busy Apple Store to replace the battery on my 2011 MacBook Pro, I made the decision to visit this shop and was majorly impressed by what I found. The small, neat shop is a blend of new and old - vintage macs right next to the machines of the last few years. I was helped by Neil, the store owner, who was warm and helpful and listened with care about my work and what I needed out of a laptop. Genuine, attentive service is hard to find. It tends to make me a repeat customer. I ended up trading my laptop in the end for a lighter model and trading in my old one, which I got a good price for considering its age. On the whole I felt really pleased with my experience. It's worth your time to come here. Best of all I feel the service doesn't end when you walk out the door. Sooo, this place does live up to the hype! I was reluctant at first on trying a cell phone repair place I've never heard about until recent, but thankfully, I decided to give it a try anyway. I had my daughters iPad mini fixed here today and they did a great job! Looks like new and works perfectly. The staff were as nice as can be and professional. The guy said it would be about an hour and 45 minutes, and so we when to run some other errands at Target and Whole Foods and it might have been slightly over and hour and they gave me a courtesy call to let me know it was finished. :-) We are a clumsy family so they will see us often :-( read more

I brought my iMac in here for a repair. They suspected the issue was the graphics card based on the symptoms. Turned out that it was something more complicated and not worth fixing given the cost. So I decided to not go ahead with the fix. They gave me the machine back and took out the HDD so I can get the data off it. There was no charge for the diagnostic work. Very good customer experience. Quality of work/parts is terrible. Prepare for issues, headaches, and return visits. 1st repair - Cracked screen: Fix went smoothly and all seemed fine 2nd repair - Home button: 1st repair was good for maybe a week until the home button became detached from the screen (sunk in/depressed). They were nice enough about fixing it and said they were going to replace the entire screen. 3rd repair - Home button (AGAIN): When I arrived a few hours later to pick it up a the button became detached/depressed again as she tried to unlock/demo it. I leave/return once more to pick it up and all seemed fine. 4th repair - front facing camera: A few weeks later we noticed the front facing camera was partially obstructed (screen was not properly aligned). Again, they were nice enough about fixing it. When I picked it up a few hours later all seemed to be fine. 5th repair PENDING - Home button (AGAIN?!?!): Seems whatever was done to repair the home button in the 3rd repair was not a solid fix. Literally, the day after leaving from the 4th repair the button became detached from the screen again (sunk in/depressed). I'm debating on taking it somewhere else or giving up and purchasing a new one. Taking it back to Experimac seems like a waste of time as I have little faith in their ability to properly repair anything. Original Review: Had the glass replaced on an iPad Air over the weekend. The price was fair, signficantly cheaper than the Apple store and much cheaper than other local repair shops I contacted. The repair was done fast and on time per their estimate - 1.5 hours. The work is covered by a 90 day warranty which is equal to or greater than most shops. Experimac just became my first stop for any future Apple related repair needs! read more
