Before even arriving, Joseph had already reviewed everything thoroughly and came prepared with thoughtful answers to all of our questions. When access issues prevented him from completing the inspection on the first visit, he promptly returned the following week to finish the assessment without hesitation. Not only was he able to track down the replacement part, but he ultimately saved us a ton of money by avoiding a full chimney replacement. He returned the following week to complete the repair, and the entire experience was seamless from start to finish. Joseph was honest, responsive, incredibly kind, and professional throughout the entire process. He cleaned up carefully after the work was completed and made what initially felt like a very stressful situation feel manageable. Re-scheduled 2nd appointment for 8-10am, the guy shows up but doesn't have the correct supplies. Re-scheduled 3rd appointment for 8-10am, the guy doesn't show up, but tells me he'll show up 3-5pm later that day. He doesn't show up for the 4th appointment, so then I call the office, let them know I'm pissed, escalate up the chain through the owner and his scheduler, and we finally reschedule for the 5th appointment for 8-10am. This is now the 4th appointment that we've scheduled for 8-10am (I've moved so many of my meetings around and woke up early to accommodate them), and the 5th appointment overall. The guy finally shows up with the supplies, tells me my current fireplace is matte paint, then says it's semi-gloss, paints it semi-gloss, then tells me the old paint was matte, so he definitely messed up the paint. Then, as you can see in the attached images, he got fire-resistant black spray paint all over my hardwood floors. He said it would take 1 hour to paint. He spent an additional 3 hours scrubbing my floors for me. He poured acetone everywhere, which is definitely going to cause long-term damage to my flooring, and then I had to correct him on every little thing he needed to scrub down with water because the guy must've been blind and couldn't see obviously black spray paint all over the flooring. Oh, and the cherry on top was that when the guy showed up, he asked for a towel he could use to clean up some of his equipment. I thought he was just going to borrow it and give it right back at the end, maybe I throw it in the washer. Nope. Instead, he used it for the black spray paint, and then he threw it away at the end without even telling me. I'm unbelievably pissed at that technician and this company as a whole. The owner offered me a $50 discount for the $200 fireplace painting after scheduling the 5th appointment (frankly, in hindsight, this wasn't even sufficient), and didn't even bother to collect payment at all after how badly his technician damaged my floors and wasted my time, so I guess that's the silver lining. But in no way would I ever recommend this company to anybody in the future. And frankly, this company should be paying me $1000 to 1) repair my floors with a proper cleaning company after the guy soaked them in harmful acetone, and 2) replace my collectible hand towel that he said he was just going to borrow from me. Extremely unprofessional at every turn. I wish I would have hired any unlicensed handyman than return to these "fireplace" "experts". I've dealt with close to 200 contractors in some fashion or another over the years, across probably 15 different specializations. This is probably the worst one I've ever worked with.

We had three different companies come out and although EcoGrizzly was slightly more expensive, they were far and away the most professional and knowledgeable. They were very communicative, did a thorough inspection and gave us a clear understanding of our options. In the end we had them convert our wood burning fireplace to gas. I was skeptical that I was going to like it, but for a variety of reasons, it's what made the most sense. In the end, they did a fantastic job, fixed all of the issues we had and made the fireplace look hugely better. Definitely recommend this company. They really stand out as being a cut above.

I first reached out to Michael for an inspection when we were in escrow on our home. The home was built in 1967 and nothing had been done to the fireplace/chimney since then. He was incredibly thorough in his inspection and report, to the point that both the seller agent and our agent asked how I found such a good inspector. His quote for repairs was extremely fair and his detail helped us get a credit for the repairs needed. Fast forward to once we moved in, I reached out to Michael to schedule and he was able to get his team out less than a week later. It was over summer, so I would guess in fall/winter, it's likely a longer lead time, but he's extremely nice and accommodating so I'm sure he helps people if they are in a bind. Michael said it would take 2 days to complete the work, which it did (this is honestly refreshing because usually people quote less time and then end up going over), his guys were prompt and did a great job on all the work. They cleaned up after themselves and left the space looking just the way it was before they came. Michael then came out at the end to check out the work and ensure it was up to his standards. He installed faux wood logs and charged exactly what he paid, he didn't upsell us or anything. 10/10 would recommend!
