We got this referral from Angie's. The salesman in Austin (Michael) that came was wonderful and helpful but then left the company. He said the company would reach out within a week. Nobody followed up with us after that and we had planned a major large bathroom remodel in August. We were extremely disappointed. with the followup. I would give them more stars if they had followed up with me and assured me our job was in line to get started. But after about a month, nothing. That was disappointing. Eshel and his team did a fantastic job building us a front porch, taking care to match the paint and stain colors of the house. We also requested they level out/ add to our existing concrete steps, which they understood easily and designed to be symmetrical without much direction on our end. They were easy to work with and Eshel kept in constant communication via text (which I prefer) as to when materials would be arriving, when contractors would be onsite, and what stage of the process things were occuring. The entire project was completed quicker than expected too - very efficient work. We have already started thinking of other home improvement projects in which we can hire Eshel's team! We wanted to add a 4 panel glass door to our bedroom - Expert Home Builders and Eshel were by far the most professional of anyone we spoke to. We called, set up an appointment, confirmed the appointment, next day Eshel showed up, 2 days later we had the bid, accepted it, and they began demolition 8 days later. Their crew was professional, extremely respectful, and kept things clean. We paid 1/3 after demolition, 1/3 after framing and door install, and 1/3 after completion - we did have a few minor punch list items which Eshel made sure were taken care of. They are scammers!!! Three people came out to give us a quote on a deck and some minor landscaping. They gave us a guess on the cost which was $14,000.00. They said they would make a rendering and contact the HOA and get permits but we need to give then $1500.00 down payment for those items, which we did. 2 days later they said they wanted to come by with the rendering and the final cost. Well, were we shocked when they said $ 38,000.00 we told them no way could we do that. So they get on the phone with someone then they said well we can do you a favor and save some materials from another job and got the price down to $21,250.00. At that point they were pushing hard to make the sell by telling us they like us and are willing to help. I could tell this is was going the wrong way so I told them we will think on it. I called the next day and told them no we are not going forward and would like our deposit back. They told me no because that was the cost for the rendering so I said send the rendering to me. They never did! We have the paper they left with us showing all the things the deposit was for and it was for all I mentioned above. We thought of taking them to small claims court but they probably would never pay us. read more

Do not work with these people. These people are not trustworthy. My next door neighbor needed a tree removed from his backyard yesterday on March 28th and had to get access to our yard to do so. He hired a company named Expert Home Builders in Austin, TX and during the tree removal, it damaged a palm tree in our yard. We spoke to the company's project manager Liron. This company is not accepting responsibility for the damage and we think that it is because they might be not insured nor bonded. They kept claiming that it was due to the wind, but in fact my daughter saw them through the window when their rope was caught around our string lights which was tied to the palm tree. Our tree was vertical before they started the work and crooked when they finished. read more

Very unprofessional! The outbound sales person called to ask if we were interested in obtaining free estimates for landscaping or other remolding jobs. I expressed an interest letting her know that we were currently getting bids from other companies for some landscaping work. She then asked if it was ok for her to call me back in 30 minutes as she was about start her break and would need a few extra minutes to gather the details of our project. I agreed to the call back. She did call back in 30minutes and we discussed the various projects we planned. She asked if this afternoon would work and we agreed upon a time. Then she explained that my spouse would also need to be present. I let her know that my spouse would not be available for the bid. She insisted that legally both home owners needed to be present, then hung up on me when I told that was not required in Texas. She said I was being difficult and abruptly disconnected the call. This is not how a company should do business and with her insisting both homeowners be present for an estimate, it makes me feel as this would be one of those high pressure must sign now scam, beware. read more

Requested multiple quotes on a small patio expansion in my backyard. The company called me 3 times on a Sunday asking if they could come out to give a quote. When they arrived the "project manager" who showed up in an expensive sedan and $300 Clean, never seen dirt Blundstones walks up and tells me he is here to quote me on a patio cover when I asked for a quote on a concrete slab. He then looks at the área, measures nothing and tells me it will be $6k-$8k when high market rate for this size slab in this area would be no more than $3k on the high end. Last payment on final inspection. I had talked to another bilder and showed him pitchers of the work that was done. He informed me that the quality of the project and work that was dune. I just finished a complete demolish and rebuild of the Guest bathroom due to a failed toilet wax ring that flooded my subfloor, dry wall and newly stained wood floors! Ugh. I also changed the tile on the Masterbath floor!....I moved to Grapevine area just before the Holidays! My adult children came to visit for the Holiday and as they left, I noticed water damage on my wood floors . Ugh. Very stressful during an already stressful move and Holiday Season!! Avoid these guys like the plague. I live in Houston and am looking for contractors to work on our house in Austin. We scheduled a consultation with Expert Home Builders up in Austin only a few days from my call to them. After driving three hours to get there for our 10:00 appointment, nobody showed up. I called a few times to a dead line and finally reached someone. The fellow I spoke with told me that nobody called to confirm and so they weren't coming. They best they could do was something later in the day, which my schedule would not allow. But then, it gets worse, he asked if my wife would be with me. I told him "no" and explained that it was clear on my previous call it would only be me. He then refused to even send anyone out to meet us. Six hours of driving time, a day off from work and they just tell me to pound sand. If I could give them zero stars I would. RUN AWAY!!! read more
