Check in was easy, parking was ample. I needed to get a few scans done and this was one of the few locations that did one of them. The women at the check in were super helpful and the vibe upbeat. MRI. Dexa scans are done on the second floor, and since OCT is breast cancer awareness month the lobby was decked out, and i loved it. Scanning session was quick, easy, and painless. I am quite surprised that Wave Santa Ana's overall Yelp rating is 2. I've been here 3x (MRI 2x and CT scan 1x) and always had a great experience. Making appointments is a breeze and in my most recent one today, Danielle provided friendly and prompt service. Parking has never been an issue and it's a quick drive from my house in under 10 mins. This location is the best one hands down. I was able to get an appointment within hours of the Anaheim location messing everything up. I have extreme claustrophobia and the techs here were so understanding and comforting!!! They even kept my husband updated throughout the scan to let him know how I was doing. It's the little unexpected things that make all the difference! The staff here went above and beyond and I am extremely grateful. I HIGHLY recommend this location. Management needs to get it together--this experience was unacceptable. I'm shocked by how passive, dismissive, and unprofessional the FRONT DESK staff are. Patients come in with real concerns and legitimate insurance questions--we're not all in healthcare, and it's your front desk's job to be helpful, patient, and respectful. Instead, the attitude was condescending and belittling. What's especially frustrating is that the technicians and back office staff were noticeably more competent and professional, which makes the front desk behavior stand out even more. This was my last visit, and I will absolutely not be recommending this place to anyone. read more

I come to this location often, I like all the employee's here. The lady who did my MRI was really nice I wish I got her name. But I had to get more MRI's done for my neurologist on my brain and spine with and without contrast. I'm not really sure why but this time it hurt so bad to lay there for such a long time. I'm happy to have gotten it done because of my symptoms bothering me so much. I know I wanted to get it done, but it was making my whole neck and spine hurt so much and I got really nauseous and dizzy after it was done. I'm already nauseous and dizzy as is but it made me feel even worse and for like 2-3 days straight. Never had that happen to me before, it was a longer appointment this time too because I moved when they were taking pictures of my thoracic spine because I started getting hot flashes and dizzy and sick during so they had to redo that part, but i really just wanted to get it done so I suffered through it cause I really want answers. Everyone here is so sweet the front desk girls had a smile and helped me when I went to pick up my report and cd just to keep on file thank you so much for your kindness I so appreciate it. I don't understand all the negative reviews. I went here for wrist arthrograms in both wrists. I was worried about the pain, and I had read that this place is terrible here on Yelp. Well, the procedure was basically painless, similar in discomfort to a blood draw, basically, and everyone was very kind and helpful, including the people working the front desk. I had some scheduling issues with the operators on the phone, specifically that nobody seemed to know whether I could or would have to have the arthrograms both on the same day or on different days (turned out that it had to be different days, despite being scheduled for the same day). But, that was small in the grand scheme of things. Definitely recommend coming here. They do good work. read more

I've been to this location multiple times, and the experience is hit or miss. This week's visit was the miss. I had a breast MRI scheduled (my second this year). Four minutes after the office closed the night before my appointment, I received two texts and two emails stating that my MRI would not be done unless I provided prior records and scans. Since the office was closed, I couldn't call. Responding to the messages went nowhere. The next morning, they did perform the MRI. The person who placed the IV was excellent, and the tech was kind. No issues during the scan itself. The problem came the next day, when I received a call saying the radiologist would not release my results until I provided records they claimed they did not have--specifically my January mammogram. This was explained as "new protocol." For context: all of my imaging has been done through Wave Imaging. They already had the records. Fortunately, the imaging center that performed my mammogram had previously worked with Wave and knew exactly who to call. Once they intervened, my results were released within an hour. This situation caused completely unnecessary stress and delay, all due to poor communication and internal confusion. Sending urgent messages after hours, proceeding with the MRI anyway, then withholding results the next day makes no sense from a patient perspective. If you come here, confirm well in advance that they have everything they need, and don't assume silence means you're in the clear. Apparently, it doesn't. read more

Scheduled appt several weeks in advance. Morning if appt. Was contacted saying the where running late come in at 1130. Showed up 1115, waited in line to check in 45 mins!!! Only to be told sorry your appt was 1130 we can't do your appt now. Please reschedule. When asked to speak with office manager, was told they where not available. Call later. Filed complaint with my insurance company, and state health management. This is the second time this office has mismanaged check in, causing month delays in cancer care. DO NOT RECOMMEND. USE A DIFFERENT OFFICE OR EVEN BETTER DIFFERENT COMPANY. read more

I had my first mammogram today and the technician's name was RHONDA! She was very thorough and walk me through step-by-step since she knew it was my first time. I'm really glad that she was the person that did it since I was a little nervous. I couldn't have had a better person and I am thankful that I was in good hands. In the future, if I ever need to schedule another mammogram, I will be sure to do at the same location. I waited in the lobby for like 15-20 minutes to be called back so the wait wasn't too long past my appointment time. I would suggest to fill out all the paperwork and screening ahead of time before your appointment to save time. We had an appointment for my son to get an X-ray. We were called back quickly since we had an appointment. The radiologist was so nice and talked my son through the procedure because he was a bit nervous. I'm only knocking them down a star because I had my younger daughter with me as well and they wouldn't let her come back with us. I totally understand it's policy but I ended up having to call my mom to rush over. Not sure how single parents without many friends would be able to swing that. I had a very frustrating experience at WaveImaging in Santa Ana. I arrived for my scheduled 1:00 PM appointment and waited in line until about 1:20 PM due to how crowded the front desk area was. When I finally reached the front, I was told that I had "missed" my appointment, despite having arrived on time. The office was extremely packed, with no available seating, and it felt like appointments were being overscheduled beyond what the facility could reasonably handle. Several patients were standing and waiting, and the check-in process was slow because of how many people were there. If you come here, I strongly recommend arriving very early and being prepared for long waits, even if you have a scheduled appointment. Based on my experience, appointment times do not seem to be respected. read more

UPDATE: My doctor re-referred me to a different Wave office. I reminded the CT tech that I was there for my parathyroid, which requires a particular type of scan. She looked at the paperwork and said, "Oh, I'm glad you told me. There's nothing here about that. I'll make sure it's the proper type of scan." The results came back a week later. No scan of the parathyroid was completed. No explanation given. For some reason, Wave is incapable of this relatively basic procedure. I had to undergo a much more invasive scan since we couldn't get a CT to happen and my doctor was growing more concerned. I'm still considering filing a formal complaint with the State Medical Board. This is incompetence across multiple locations and employees. If your doctor refers you to Wave, try to get a different referral! read more

Came here for an MRI and unfortunately had a really bad experience. The front desk staff seemed unhappy to be there, and the overall atmosphere felt depressing the lighting and wall colors made the place feel gloomy. When I was taken into the MRI room, the two staff members didn't explain what to expect or make me feel comfortable. I actually felt unsafe and ended up canceling my appointment. Every time, the receptionist Elba noticed an error with my appointment since they put ordinary appointment and no implants. Usually they will return you to home in other places, but not in here she fix it right away, she is so professional and kind. The technician Ardele, it was so nice, the first time I met her, very knowledgeable and treats me with kindness and respect. Formal complain about my recent experience with the RadNet/Wave Imaging facility in Santa Ana. I am considering elevating this matter to the Medical Board of California and the American Board of Radiology to ensure the safety and protection of other patients. On Tuesday, July 29th, I underwent a prostate MRI exam. The Patient Portal indicated that results would be available within 3 to 5 business days. As the results were not posted by the following Monday, I went to the Irvine facility to obtain a hard copy. The initial report, dated July 29th, assigned a PIRADS 4 score, which indicates a high likelihood of clinically significant cancer, and recommended an immediate biopsy. Fortunately, the following day, my Primary Care Physician reviewed the report and images and identified significant errors. He contacted the RadNet radiologist, who admitted to the mistake and issued a revised report, "Addendum 1." I was disappointed that my doctor was the only one to provide me with the corrected report, which I then had to forward to my urologist. Despite daily attempts to contact RadNet via the website chat and phone calls to the Santa Ana facility, I have not received a satisfactory resolution. The manager of the Santa Ana facility refused to speak with me after learning of my issue. To this day, the reports are still not available on my patient portal, well beyond the promised 3 to 5 business days. I am confident that the radiologist's error is the reason for this delay. Had it not been for my Primary Care Physician, I would have proceeded with an unnecessary biopsy and potential prostate cancer treatment. Everything could be improved at this facility. I have been here since 750am. It's now 9:18. After 25 minutes of waiting I asked a simple question, which lead them to realize I had no orders here. Physicians office issue, right? No. I called my doctor's office. They had the correct fax number and a confirmation receipt from Wave. They took down the fax number again and sent it immediately. At 850, they let me know the orders were still not here. As I left I called doctor's office. They had a second receipt proving they faxed the orders. The MA told me to walk back inside and let her talk to the receptionist. By 855, my doc's office had confirmed verbal orders. The receptionist then asked for my insurance and ID. I gave it to her and she asked me to sit back down. It's now 9:22 and I have filled out the paperwork. I still haven't been called back. If I didn't do all the work, I wouldn't be getting this X-ray today. If I do get it as I'm still waiting. Update: it's 9:24 and my Yelp review posted while I'm still waiting. LOL. Do yourself a favor and if you're able to go somewhere else, avoid this place. It's awful. read more

I'm a cancer survivor so yes my breast look different, I've been here before but I never left feeling the way I did today. I had my mamo, waited in the waiting area for my next test the mamo girl goes into a room with a swinging door and immediately gets on her cell phone, possibly to talk about me?!?! As I'm waiting the next tech that was going to be doing my test goes into the room with the mamo tech and as the door swings she's still on her cell phone, what is she still talking about me to someone?? Then I hear them giggling, seriously wtf! I wanted to walk out and not finish. I will never go back for this test again. You need to be more respectful of others, you have no idea how hard it is to look at myself in the mirror everyday. Who knows if you were talking about me to others, telling them what my body looks like, the same body that I wont show my husband anymore. But I had to show you and you made me feel like $hit! I will never come back!! And yes the receptionist downstairs are rude and bothered by the fact that they have to help you! Customer service should be #1, people come here because they have an issue, they need compassion and kindness. You have no idea what others are going through! MRI machine went down twice, but I don't fault them for that. Only one of my two exam reports are available online after 2 weeks. Numerous attempts to get this report has been so frustrating. Medical records unreachable most of the time. The number goes directly to the general number and no one can help me. I was transferred to medical records at Wave imaging in Oxnard instead of Santa Ana. I was transferred to the same number I was calling only to get sent back to the general number again and again. The one time I spoke to medical records I was told it would be emailed to me and I would receive it within the hour, but it never came. I can't get anyone to help me. read more

Dont go here!!!! I got stuck in traffic and I called to let them know I was running late and they said no worries. I was only 5 minutes late. my appointment was 4pm they had me wait for 45 minutes and then told me the doctor couldnt see me that i had to reschedule because I was late and the 4:30 appointment was on time. So I told them I had called and I was only 5 minutes late, the girl tried to tell me I was 15 minutes late So I showed them I had proof of what time I called and what time I got there. I told them i take care of my father 7 days a week and I had to have someone watch him for me so I could go and that it took me an hour to get there and they had already made me wait 45 minutes to ask doctor if he will see me. so at 4:55 i was told no. so i spent 3 hours on Friday and never got my ultrasound done. I had to have two MRI's here. The first time the tech. let me put my ear plugs in. He also put padding around my head so it was comfortable and secure. The second time I had a different tech. I didn't have the padding for my head. She also barely put the ear plugs in. They almost fell out. She must have been in a rush, or perhaps needs more training. read more

First of all, I called this location numerous times and left a voicemail because I needed to reschedule my appointment and they don't pick up the phone or call back. I showed up to the location, hoping I can walk in at 2:50 PM. Hopefully after this review they make some improvements or check themselves. I walked in, there were three girls at the desk two Hispanic looking and the other an African American. I waited about 7 mins in line (god forbid I was your elderly family member and had to stand in line) they made no effort to acknowledge me (mind you I was nice at that point) then I forced eye contact with one of the girls and she said "I'll be right with you" (mind you it was the girl in the back furthest from me who acknowledged me) then I said thank you for the acknowledgement I appreciate it. Shortly after the girl in the back helped me out and checked me in. While she was checking me in, she picked up the phone and called an insurance about a procedure that another patient was going to get. She was not keeping the patients information confidential. I still remember the partients DOB and name and procedure. I waited ONE hour in the lobby (it was not that busy to wait ONE hour plus) but I was not in rush so I patiently waited then I went up to the desk asked the girl on the right about how much longer it would take they said I was 4th in line. I asked her why did 4 people that came way after me got seen sooner, she explained because people had other procedures scheduled so then I asked about their scheduling policy, and the girl on the left with the face mask decided to acknowledge me and speak but could not clarify their walk in/scheduling policy to me, but then she proceeded to blame the fact it was taking long because of the elderly patients they were seeing there. I left the place because I felt dissapointed and very frustrated. I would not recommend going to this place if you are not elderly (even then watch how they treat them). I walked out and went to a different facility (as a walk in) and let me tell you it took longer to write this review than to get my x-ray done.
