When on the phone, he was very personable, asked questions to learn more about the issue, and even explained in detail his thought process. It was very transparent in terms of what the service and price would look like. He had me call another number to get scheduled which I was able to do very easily. They got someone scheduled at a date/time that was convenient for me, and someone showed up right on time. I had a faulty bathroom fan that was going to be an electrical hazard. Thanks to them, they were able to replace that fan, install a new switch for the bathroom, and even create a new airway for the vent through the roof. I didn't even know I needed all that done, and they were able to do it quickly and efficiently. As the homeowner of a rental property, I was not there when the work was being done, but the technician Justin, was great about calling me when he was on the way, calling me when he was able to diagnose the issue, and texting me when the job was done. Their crew was prompt and professional and did a great job removing and reinstalling siding on the house without trampling the garden. They just finished yesterday, and the weather has been quite mild, so we haven't felt the effects of the insulation yet, but I have high hopes we'll see it on this winter's heating bill!

While Dane was wonderful in replacing our water heater's anode rod, it was quite bothersome that we…read morehad to pay $250 to have it replaced on a part covered under warranty. The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider.
