TRENDY LITTLE STORE w/ GREAT FINDS! Central Library's "The Library Store" is a current,…read morewell-stocked gift shop with buzzy reads and stylish merch. I loved seeing their pocket-sized collection from their genre-specific books to celebrity finds. I spotted a Chappel Roan book among other favorites. Additionally, they had a selection of Heated Rivalry novels and other fan-favorites. I definitely see myself coming here more often, too bad my booklist is currently full. My Mom and I got a few items (a small version of Macbeth, socks, mug, etc.). Staff were pretty polite but a little awkward, I think they're on high-alert for shoplifters. The store was neat and tidy. Lighting was dim and the store wasn't packed. As this is a gift shop in LA, library-specific merch is slightly pricy. However, the quality of the goods are great. If you're entering through the backside of the library go straight down the entrance hallway a bit and turn to your right. The Library Store is hard to miss!

On my recent visit, I picked out several items and was ready to check out when I asked if I could purchase the paper vase and flower that were on display. It seemed like a simple request--especially since I was already buying multiple things and was clearly a paying customer. Instead of trying to help, the staff asked three different managers, and every single one just said "no." No explanation, no attempt to offer an alternative, and no effort to make the sale. It felt less like customer service and more like rigid rule-following for the sake of saying no. What makes it even more frustrating is that everything in the store is already very expensive. When customers are willing to spend that kind of money, you would expect at least a little flexibility or effort to accommodate a reasonable request. Retail should be about helping customers and making sales, not turning away people who are literally trying to buy your products. Walking out after that interaction was frustrating and disappointing. After that experience, I won't be coming back. Blocked.

Lets talk about this shop--cuz wow…read more First off the staff, kind, efficient and helpful (kind that makes you feel welcomed and not rushed). Mellow, thoughtful vibes. The items? Literally things I didn't need...until I saw them. Notebooks, pens, rulers, keychains, clipboards, planners, stationery, and every kind of writing tool that was not on the list, yet clearly destined to come home with me. CONFESSION: I'm that friend who gets emotionally attached to pens . I'll walk into a stationery store "to browse" and leave with two FULL bags of pens, paper, and things I didn't know I needed five minutes ago. I own multiples of the same items (pens, pencils, notebooks, and paper accessories) and feel zero shame. Seriously they're kinda like tools for clarity! The shop isn't huge, but I could easily spend three hours there. They even make custom products, which feels sorta dangerous for someone like me. I don't know what else to say except: just go. Buy your supplies here. Write someone a letter. Treat yourself. Cinco stars.

I've gone a few times and items are frequently updated which is great, a little on the pricier side but items are high quality so that is expected. The store is located at the Row DTLA. I grew up in Koreatown all throughout the 90s and very glad this place is still around. Also glad…read morethey've been taking a jab at social media. It deserves to be known. It's actually interesting to see a diverse crowd hang out here compared to back then when it was nothing but Korean people. The first floor retains most of the stores that existed back then too; Music Plaza which always had an insane selection of Korean music, the quaint coffee shop near the food court, the stationary store and bookstore near the elevator and of course the Food Court itself. Has the best prices of all sorts of Korean cuisine out there; I always gravitate towards the Dddukgook (Rice Cake Soup). The H-Mart used to be the mall's own market (called Plaza Market). I was a small kid back then, but it's quite congested as a grown adult over 6 foot tall. The layout is exactly the same from back then and I love it. There used to be a very tiny bakery next to the H-Mart on the left, but they have a much larger bakery on the right. The decor is still that same 80s-esque pink and teal tile, which I hope they never change. The second floor used to have this toy store that used to sell all sorts of Power Rangers and Pokemon toys. I miss it dearly, albeit I believe it was very overpriced back then lol. I believe it's the mail store now. The third floor used to have this appliance/electronics store called "ABC Plaza". It had literally everything from USA albums, Korean appliances, and a whole section for Japanese import games. As a kid it felt like paradise. I believe it's now turning into a gym, which is cool in itself. My wife bought me some Pokemon cards from that toy store near the food court, and it reactivated all my memories. Please stay around, K-Town Plaza!

The elevator has a 4-person limit and going over that will cause the elevator to become stuck and beep very loud (which is so sketchy). The permit listed on the elevator expired in 2023 as well. It's always lively and bustling with younger AND older generations of Koreans plus plenty of non-Koreans looking to explore the culture! As someone who has lived in Koreatown his whole life, this place is a pillar of Korean-American culture. By the way, cell reception is completely non-existent in many areas of the mall including H-Mart and the food court. Restrooms are on the first floor.
