I purchased a Groupon for ExpoCleaning Corp earlier this week. I purchased the 3-hour cleaning for my 500 square ft, one-bedroom apartment in Manhattan. Two people showed up at my door. One was an admin staff and the other was the cleaning lady. Upon entering my apartment, they can see why I had to hire a 3-hour cleaning service for my tiny one-bedroom apartment; it was messy even for my standards. After leaving a $40 tip (20%) in a sealed envelope for the cleaning lady, I left the apartment so I wouldn't be in the way. Upon my return to the apartment, I was completely surprised at my apartment's NON-transformation. To be completely fair, I do notice a difference in the bathroom, and I can smell the lemon-scent of the cleaning agents when I walked into my apartment. Other than that, NOTHING has changed. Perhaps the kitchen counter was wiped, but I could have easily done that with a Lysol wipe. Sure they took out the garbage, but again, that's something that I could've easily done. Plus, I still had my grocery bags sticking out from the side of the refrigerator --- exactly how it was before I left. Oh, and by the way, they didn't clean the refrigerator either. There were still towels and purses hanging on chairs, clutters of boxes/paper piled along the walls, etc. In fact, the futon in the living room wasn't made up-right (from bed to couch) and the sheets were still on it --- unfolded! Again, my apartment is NOT that big (500 sq. feet). I purchased the 3-hour deal specifically because I needed deep cleaning/organization; not a light cleaning. However, what really lead me to write this review and complain is the fact that when I entered my bedroom to get something out of my bookshelf, I noticed that my bookshelves weren't even dusted! I mean, what on Earth were they doing here for 3 whole hours?? $100+ later, I'm still stuck with a messy apartment. What a huge disappointment. read more

Used Expo Cleaning for my apartment after being gone on vacation for a week and having friends stay in the place. I wanted to come back home to a clean place and not have to worry about a big mess after arriving home from a long trip. I called up Expo Cleaning after reading great yelp reviews and they I couldn't be happier with the job that they did. Coming home to an apartment that was clean was the best feeling. I started using Expo a couple of years ago. In that time I have been pleased with their work. Some of the cleaning staff is better than others, but overall the cleaning of my apartment is very good. I also referred them to a friend of mine who was preparing a two story house for sale. They did a wonderful job for her and Expo promised me a discount on my next cleaning for having made the referral. I never received it. My rating is so low because of their business practices. They are not as responsive as a small business should be to emails or voice mails requesting an appointment. They then try to schedule you very quickly. I work from home so I have to schedule their arrival and/or departure for when I am not on the phone. They know this and know that I can't make a quick appointment because I have to coordinate the visit with my work schedule. What finally happened was a demonstration of how unprofessional they behave. The cleaner was over 40 minutes late to our appointment. By the time she arrived, I was in the middle of a conference call with over 20 people. I could not stop to go answer the door so I let the bell ring. After the call, I emailed the company to explain; left a voicemail to explain as well. I NEVER HEARD FROM THEM AGAIN!!! Not even a message to say we won't be working with you anymore or anything. They just cut me off. I had referred a few people to them, I used them regularly and without any thought or care they stopped responding to me even though the "problem" was caused by their worker. Expo cleaning was supposed to come and give me an estimate on my very small and very easy to clean house. The date and time we're confirmed over the phone however nobody showed up and I was waiting at my home for two hours. I called the office about your times but nobody answered. I'll be using another cleaning service who will come to give me an estimate. read more

The cleaning services that I receive from ExpoCleaning have been great. Roseanne is very always attentive making sure that I am happy with the work done by her staff. If there is something that needs to be corrected, it is done immediately. The gals do so much more than just general cleaning. They take the extra time to make everything right and go beyond what is expected. What I like is that Roseanne does a end of day walk thru to make sure that nothing is out of place or left undone. Fantastic company! A bit pricey but worth every penny. I had experience with another cleaning company in Woodhaven area, but they kept changing cleaning people and some were below average. It is not a pleasant feeling to have many different people visit your house every week. You don't know who you are getting as they constantly change. Not so with ExpoCleaning. At first I was a bit apprehensive to start a new cleaning relationship, but I was pleasantly surprised by ease of communication and great service. Elvira, who was assigned to us, is the only one who comes. This is a big plus. In addition, we have a very good working relationship with her supervisor, who came with her on the first day on the job to explain what we want done in our apartment. We have very high demands about the cleanliness of our apartment. If I find tiny issues with cleaning, I email/call her supervisor and next time we don't have this issue. We always come to a spotless home. The cleaning is very thorough and takes about 4 hours. What I also like about them is that they are very flexible in scheduling next cleaning. Sometimes we need to reschedule within a couple of days of cleaning. I contact the company and they are happy to reschedule for another day with the same cleaning person. Thru Groupon I got a $100 "deal" for Expo. I couldn't find anything they cleaned; the cleaning person just sprayed Febreeze in each room (I noticed it when I passed by to leave the house). Same dust on the tables, same scum in the bathtub. Nothing vacuumed, they didn't even empty the wastebasket. I won't work with them again, and wouldn't recommend Expo to anyone. read more

These folks were the BEST. We needed to thoroughly clean my fathers house before closing and the house had not really had a thorough cleaning in years. I contacted Nina and within 24 hours she was at the house to provide an estimate. She was very pleasant to deal with and extremely accommodating. The morning of the cleaning she showed up with two gentleman and proceeded to give them specific instructions about what needed to be done. These gentleman were extremely THOROUGH. They paid special attention to everything that needed to be done. They were polite and did a wonderful job. Nina came back about an hour before they were done, and made sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. She actually went room by room to make sure that everything was completed to her satisfaction as well. I cannot say enough. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more
