This is my all-time favorite Reuben sandwich! I usually split one with my husband but I'm going to stop doing that and get my own from now on. It's really got all the perfect flavors for a delightful Reuben! The hoagie bun is soft and has great flavor. The corned beef is really good quality and sliced thin. Sauerkraut is tangy but not as sour as the kind you buy at the grocery store. The 1000 island dressing is perfect. There's a couple high top tables to seat a couple parties. Parking right out front. Behind this masterpiece sandwich are two of the nicest friendliest people. Mike and his dad. You just want to support these guys! They deserve all the stars! We stop by every time we fly into CLE airport! Yum.

The sandwiches were delicious! The family/owners were kind and welcoming. It was my first time there and I got a small sampler of their turkey, roast beef and Reuben. I love finding these hidden gems! I will definitely be back!

First timer. Was good not great but I will go back to try a few more sandwiches/combinations to see if I can get a great sandwich. Lady that made my sandwich was nice and helpful with my questions. I had turkey on white bread. I really wish I had requested rye but that's on me. Sandwich was ok. I liked the dressing it came with. Also had the pasta. Good tasing and I liked the corn and red beans with it. My only complaint is the prices. Our society is just ridiculous with these prices for what we're actually getting. A few slices of deli meat with cheese and a few condiments for $10 or more and maybe a half cup of pasta for $4. I'm just getting tired of the exorbitant prices. Would be nice if these sandwiches came with fries or a side or something. But that's me. I don't make a ton of money and like to eat out sometimes like anyone but when I sit back and do the math sometimes it's like wow was that really worth it? I don't know what it will take to get these prices down! (Shrug)

I had a craving for corned beef, so when I saw there was a nearby deli when we stopped for gas on the highway, we headed there instead of to our usual fast food. What we found was an excellent local place, with tender, delicious corn beef, the "famous" owner behind the front counter (his picture is all over their signs and merchandise), and a friendly atmosphere to stop and have a quick lunch. We loved it! I got the jumbo size corn beef sandwich, ate half there, and took the other half with me to our hotel to eat later that night. Perfect! My husband had the Ruben wrap, which was very large, but he loved it and ate the whole thing there. We also each had a bottle of grape pop from their cooler. That's always such a fun treat, like we were kids again! Next time we're traveling that way, we will definitely make it a priority to stop there!

Went to College/roomed with the owners son, so when you see reviews about the nicest staff and owners, it's true. They are some of the most genuine people you will meet! Whenever I'm up that way I always make a point to stop in and either get the pastrami or corned beef wrap with lettuce and their garlic sauce...Mmmm. So good! Saw the 100% five star reviews and had to check the place out (first time I've seen that with so many reviews). Definitely a well deserved 5 stars. I asked what their most popular dish was, and the person behind the counter told me that he would let me answer my own question. He then proceeded to carefully prepare a tasting plate with 3 different sandwich samples and a sample of their corned beef (awesome btw). Each one tasted amazing, but the moment I tasted the reuben, I knew that was what I wanted (he replied that he knew I would want that one, and so he saved it for last). Best and most unique reuben I've ever eaten. Price was very reasonable as well. Definitely coming back tomorrow for the Reuben Mac & Cheese. Found my new favorite place for when I'm in town. read more

Had late lunch here today. The Owner overheard us saying it was our first time here and brought us a sample platter of 4 different Sandwiches! Very nice guy! Everything was delicious! It wasn't busy when we were there around 2:30. They are a Deli/Beverage store with several High Top tables for dining in. The place is kept very clean and tidy. read more

My company moved locations recently and I depended on Yelp to find a new place for lunch. Express Deli was the closest place and we decided to try it one day. We have been back several times and have made it a weekly Friday tradition. The Rueben wrap is to die for and the overall atmosphere of the place really adds to the experience. I try to refer them new customers whenever the opportunity arises because they deserve it. They have earned a lifelong customer right here! read more

Best reuben in my life. Very friendly owners. I read about the reviews on the yelp and i already decided to have a reuben sandwich. The lady owner still made me a bunch of samplers. I was already half full before even ordering. Every single one of the samplers was fantastic. I ended up getting a reuben wrap which was amazing. I would go again to try other sandwiches. read more

The sandwiches are AMAZING. I had the Reuben but also tried the turkey and the pastrami and they were all delicious. The corned beef was especially good. Traveling from out of town, we turned to Yelp to help us find a lunch spot. With solid, 5-star reviews, we decided to give the Express Deli a shot. It earned every one of those stars from us, and more if we could give it. A clear pride of ownership exists in this place. Upon hearing we were first-timer eaters, the owner insisted on making us a sample tray. All samples were delicious, and their Reuben wrap was amazing. After flying into Cleveland from Texas we found this wonderful gem. To say it was good is an understatement. Starting out with the sample tray was extraordinarily. I ordered the Reuben wrap, my wife got the corned beef, one of our friends got the Regular Rueben, and the other got BBQ beef and Chili. Everything was fantastic; best Rueben I have ever eaten. We actually plan to eat there before we fly home next week. It is easy to see why this place has been there for 20 years and is very popular with the locals. read more

I love the turkey wrap. I give this place 5 stars because of the owners, they always make me feel welcome when im there. If you want extras, it's never a problem. I am from Memphis, TN, so while visiting on business I decided to see what all the fuss was about this place,,,and I can tell you it was the BEST Reuben I had in my life...he makes is sauce fresh from scratch every day..I tried to buy some, but he does not sell it. The owner and his son are so kind and friendly. The five stars is not by accident. This place came highly recommended from coworkers. I landed and sought this place out. I walked in and immediately felt like I was part of the family. Excellent deli! I walked in and asked "What's good?" The man behind the counter happily tells me he will give me some samples. He proceeds to make me some finger sandwiches of their pastrami, turkey and he heats up a small taste of their homemade corned beef. All of them were fantastic. I got a pastrami/corned beef combo on rye. It only took a couple minutes to make. This is another of those "Diamonds in the Rough". A very unassuming convenient store that makes killer food and all of their employees have happy attitudes and want you to leave happy. I totally recommend this establishment. read more

Meet the Business Owner: Pierre A.

Pierre acquired the deli in 1998 and ever since then has put his heart and soul into creating unique sandwiches. Maha, his wife is the Boss Lady and also the master mind behind such sauces as the House Dressing. Pierre will not let you leave the deli without at least sampling the different sandwiches. All the usual suspects got mentioned, along with this store that I just had not frequented before. The poster also mentioned their baba was wonderful. I have tried baba everywhere and was always on the lookout for some super baba. Flash forward six months and I have had probably 50 containers of the baba (comes in the 8 oz or 16 oz plastic containers). I have been hooked on their shawarma (both chicken or beef) and, for my palate, feels it's the best that that I have been able to find (yes, I am aware of two places close to here that posters contend is the best shawarma around). What makes it it me is that they include all the add-ons - lettuce, tomato, onions, turnips, cucumber, sauce, hot sauce if requested. Love that overly stuffed shawarma that is filled with everything. I feel the falafel is probably one of the top 3 in northeastern Ohio. I have bought their chicken numerous times and find that is excellent. It is fresh - good white color, not dark yellow. Dates listed are very current. Smells fine. Tastes fine. The store has a nice selection of your arabic grocery staples like pitas from Jasmine, pickled jarred products, dates, oils, fresh produce, refrigerated cheeses, etc. Shocking to see that no one has left a review for them in the last 3 years. Well I am and I highly, highly recommend you go in to check them out. Employees are plentiful. Prices are compatible to the other markets on Lorain Road. Oddly they do not appear to sell stuffed grape leaves, garlic sauce, hot sauce or items like prepared fava beans with olive oil. But what they do have, and the quality of it, more than makes up for a few of these items that I buy elsewhere.

It seems more South American, Middle East and south Asian but no chinese or Japanese products. I mainly came for the random food stall in the back. There was just one man running the whole thing and the operation honestly didn't inspire a lot of confidence. There were flies around and the guy's COVID mask was on his chin instead of over his face, both seem risky when your meat is sitting out on a vertical broiler. My friend and I still got a schwarma to go though given the good reviews on yelp. We were able to walk around the small market twice before we got our food but overall it was pretty good. The chicken was well-seasoned and a little dry but there's a generous amount of garlicky hummus sauce and pickles that added the much needed moisture and acid to the wrap. Everything was well proportioned and the portion size was satisfying for only being $7. Overall I can see why people like this place, it's definitely a hidden, authentic, and tasty place to grab middle eastern food. If you're the type of person that's cool with food cart level sanitation, this place is a decent place to grab a bite.

My husband I lived in South Carolina. Several years ago, my brother introduced us to the "Deli". After much sampling and a delicious corn beef sandwhich, we always stop in whenever we are in Brookpark. Fast forward to today. It is my mother's 85th birthday and had been under treatment for cancer, which we found she was declared cancer free. She had lost 40 lbs. She always liked their sandwhiches and I bought one for her last month when visiting. She wolfed it down. For her birthday (today) they were very kind to deliver a sandwhich to her. As I was driving by, I saw a Corned Beef sign on what looked like a dinky convenience store and did a u-turn to check it out. Turned out to be one of the best culinary decisions I've made in a long time. Pierre and his son Mike greeted me warmly then treated me to a plate of samples. Each sample was thoughtfully prepared from meat to bread to dressing and toppings. The corned beef is amazing! I got the jumbo serving on rye with mustard and swiss and had Mike top it with their razor thin fresh pickles. It was the perfect amount of complement to the sandwich without over-powering the corned beef. This place is absolutely a must try!!! read more

I went here on a trip to Cleveland, and it's definitely one of those "best kept secret" type places. The food is only matched by the incredibly nice service. They really do have just about the best and tastiest selection of deli options that I have ever had, absolutely delicious. Not to mention I was treated like a regular the first time I was there, as greeted with samples and recommendations. I have and will continue to make it a point to make multiple trips every time I am in town! read more

We asked Suri where to eat close to the airport and she sent us here. From the minute we walked in we were treated like royalty. I can't even think of enough adjectives to describe how amazing the food was. We made a special trip back before our return flight to get a Reuben wrap and it was more than worth it. Pierre and his family/team will make you feel right at home and make you a wrap/sandwich you won't forget. I couldn't recommend more highly. read more

Looks like the inside of a gas station, but the employees were friendly and the sandwiches delicious. The people working the small deli in back were eager to give us samples. We had the pastrami and reuben, both on rye. The pastrami featured super thinly sliced pickles which were amazing. The reuben had nice layer of sauerkraut and just enough 1000 Island dressing. Great family owned place. May not look like much but the food speaks for itself, look past the convenient store exterior and step into the back where the deli is located. Pierre the owner will most likely be there to serve you and let you try samples from all their specialies. read more
