Saw their Yelp accolade so I went to see for myself. Clean interior, owner was at the checkout, very friendly. Son & two women making sandwiches for a steady stream of customers. They did not do the "first-timer" samples, citing being crazy busy lately, but promised to resume the practice soon. The Beirut chicken wrap was plentiful but slightly dry...the pita is wrapped tightly but falls apart, making for a messy finish. The falafel wrap was tasty, even if not truly authentic (pickles instead of turnips & no tahini sauce).... it's a bit of a drive for me so I won't go out of my way, but if close by I would stop again. read more

WOW stopped here on my way to babysit for my son who lives in Brookpark. I got the corn beef reuben and all I can say is it was THE BEST cornbeef I have ever eaten and I'm Irish so I have eaten many corn beef sandwiches. Moist moist moist!!!!!!!! Even the sauerkraut was moist and very mild but oh so good. I got mine on rye bread because rye is my favorite. They were soooo friendly and asked me if I was new because they were going to give me a sampler of what they have but I had to get going real quick. I trusted them that my sandwich would be perfect so I didn't have to sample anything besides the reviews on here were good...will be back soon! Believe the hype. This place is amazing. I had the Reuben wrap and it was mouthwatering, legitimately one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The taste tour they offered for first time visitors gave me three options, which means I need to come back at least two more times because the turkey and pastrami were also amazing and it was tough to pick my order. This is my first Yelp review. My experience at Express Deli definitely warrants it! This was my first time here and when the owner asked me if it was my first time, he personally prepared a "sampling" plate. He carefully took his time to go over everything he prepared. Everything was fantastic. They make everything from scratch except for the bread. After cleaning up the "sampling" plate, I chose their signature Rueben wrap. Phenomenal, seriously. The express deli is such an amazing place. The service is amazing and the owner, Pierre, is the nicest person. I live very far away, and I have gone there three times! Every time I come to Ohio, I feel an irresistible urge to stop and get a veggie Reuben. Speaking of the veggie Reuben, the food is amazing! They've definitely got something special, from the awesome hummus to the perfect pita. Most of my family is vegetarian, and their vegetarian options are amazing! The falafel is just right in every way, and the veggie Reuben is unlike anything else that I've ever tasted. Overall, it's the most amazing place, with the most amazing food, and I have no idea why anyone would dislike it. The food is great and the service is great. We discovered Express Deli on a trip to Cleveland to visit family. We were too hungry to wait till we got to Mom's so we Yelped sandwiches and arrived at Express. We were blown away by the sample platter and by how amazing the sandwiches are, especially the tasty lean meats. The garlic sauce is their special touch. I had some free time to kill so checked out Yelp to find a good place for lunch not knowing the area. Express Deli had really high ratings so I decided to try it out.... From the second I walked in and was greeted so kindly by the man behind the register I knew this place was special. It literally looks like a tiny convenience store with a counter in the back serving up magic.... I decided to try the Reuben Wrap since that's what they're know for. My hesitancy in ordering must have shared I was a newbie. The welcoming gentlemen behind the counter asked for confirmation if it was indeed my first time and said they liked to prepare Sampler Platters for first time guests. They handed me the Sampler Platter to enjoy while I waited for my Reuben and boy it did not disappoint! It had three small samples of their different homemade meats and sauces. Everything was fantastic which made me even more excited for my meal! .... As I sat in my car and took my first bite of the Reuben, I was in heaven.
