Pick 2 - Grilled Chicken Club & Spud
    Gail S.

This was my first visit to McAlister's in Middleburg Hts. I assumed it was a sit down restaurant with Servers but it is not. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You order food at the counter, online or at the drive thru and they do have indoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu consisted of soup, salad, deli sandwiches and spuds (baked potatoes). They offer a "choose 2" option, which is 1/2 soup, salad, sandwich or spud + another half for $10.99. There is an up charge for Premium options that are marked with a red "P". My total was $12.19 including tip for the Choose 2. I tried the 1/2 spud with chili and cheese and 1/2 grilled chicken club sandwich. Food was fresh and came out quickly. Service was Excellent! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice decor too with big screen TV's and clean restrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]Highly recommend McAlister's!

Food is good. Prices are reasonable. I wish they have a drive through option. I would recommend the salads.

Bread was cold with the sandwich. Nothing special about their food and they took their sweet ole time wiping our tables.

I stopped in last minute while out running errands. I was seated immediately on a busy Saturday late morning and greeted right after. The menu is fantastic. Great options, wonderful seasonal specials. (Short rib omelette?! Hell yes!) I wanted basic, so I built my own omelette with a side of bacon and a hot tea. They have a great drink menu- coffee, specialty cocoas, tea, cocktails, mocktails, and refreshers. I was on my way to see a friend, so I grabbed us each a refresher to go. My meal was out in just minutes. Expertly prepared, fresh and delicious. Also a very nice portion. Sourdough toast was excellent. Generous filling for the omelette too. The only drawback was a common plight for strip mall restaurants- entrance that opens straight into the dining room. No foyer or vestibule means the cold January air nipped you in the face every time that front door opened. On cold days, get a table in the back. I'd like to highlight the mocktail concept, too. I often want a spirited drink but don't imbibe booze often. I love that they have offerings. The entire staff was so nice and helpful. I can't wait to come back!

I also had the Cuban sammich, I'm a sucker for a Cuban and nobody (outside of Miami it seems) makes them "right" - meaning squishing it on a plancha. This one is no different, it's got all the required ingredients to make a Cuban however it was just popped in to the toaster oven and not squished in a plancha. It was still very good however. There were two employees working, no other customers at all. Service was very quick, no waiting really beyond what it took to whip up my order. I took it to go so I can't really comment on the ambience but like I said it was totally empty except for me and the 2 girls behind the counter so if nothing else it was pretty quiet inside.

This is a Chicago company that I'm glad has landed in Cleveland. I was never a fan of Subway or any of those other places. Potbelly is different. How? Allow me to explain. First, I'll tell you what I usually get, then build from there. I love their turkey, Swiss, and avocado--my absolute fave. Their Italian "Wreck" is Ah-Mazing. The new prime rib is also excellent. For these sandwiches to work, you really need to start with fresh ingredients, or they'll be awful. After they come out of the oven, they add the avocado. I usually add the lettuce, onion, tomato, and a heaping helping of mayo and giardiniera or hot peppers. They're SO good. Their sandwiches are stuffed with ingredients, regardless of which size you get. The Skinny is filling; that's their smallest size. But wait, there's more! Their bagged chips are sui generis to Potbelly. I haven't even seen them sold in Chicago. But they pair perfectly with their sandwiches. Now, I recommend washing this all down with a bit of sweetness. Their Dream Bars are AH-MAZING. Grab one, even if you save it for later. I love them. I'm a big fan of their lemonade because I'm just sick of carbonated sodas. Folks, Clevelanders....it's worth your while to give this place an honest shot! Potbelly... bring back the PB&J! Nothing like a good, toasted, PB&J!

The dressing was a little different than what I'm used to, it was oil-based instead of the traditional creamy Caesar dressing. I personally prefer the creamy version, but it was still fun to try something different. We also ordered six Garlic Parmesan wings, and they were large, flavorful, and cooked really well. On our bartender's recommendation, we added a side of the Spicy BBQ sauce. My husband loved it and ended up dipping both his wings and fries in it. For his entrée, my husband ordered the Italian sub with fries, and he really enjoyed it. The bartender was friendly, welcoming, and easy to chat with, which made the experience even better. Between the good food and great service, we'd definitely come back.

Today they were $14. They are baked then char-grilled. These wings were excellent! Crispy but still tender, meaty, juicy, wonderful flavor. My burger was also fantastic. Sizeable patty, cooked to the requests temp, and a good portion of fries. Dad had a salad which was a good side salad- pepperoni and lots of cheese! His pasta was okay- noodles were overcooked and a little mushy. Mom's patty melt was not toasted, which was strange. The waitress said the cook was working alone. I imagine that's pretty stressful but we were 4 of only 6 diners in the place. I was surprised it came out seemingly unfinished. Mom said onion rings were very good. Husband said his Crazy Papa Burger was good. Our server did a great job of refilling drinks and checking on us. There were a couple of small things that weren't awesome. It was also freezing in there, so it wasn't a fully pleasant experience. It was expensive, though. Our bill was $96 for 4 meals, 1 appetizer, added side salad, and 4 soft drinks. I often base my rating on whether or not I'll return. I imagine I will be back sometime, because it's close to home and the wings were seriously top notch.
