I had really high expectations for Express Drains after two plumbing companies told me that they were their go-to for clogged drains. I had an issue where my entire back patio was flooding due to a clogged sewer drain, and was in turn flooding our first floor and basement. All around, a pretty nerve racking situation. Express Drains came out and went through the motions of trying to snake the drain. Ultimately, the tech couldn't get the snake through the trap but was able to get the water moving through the drain. A day or two later, it rained, and just like before, our backyard and home flooded. I subsequently had another plumber come out to assess. We were able to look into the drain with a flashlight and found all kinds of blocking debris - wire, rocks, tennis ball and a baseball! Needless to say, I was pretty shocked. Here I had a professional drain company come out, and instead of actually trying to diagnose the problem, they just went through the routine motions of snaking the drain thinking the issue was fixed. I subsequently spoke to Ryan who is the owner of Express Drains and he offered a $100 refund on a $250 charge. Sure, it helps, but at the end of the day, I paid for a service that ultimately did nothing. I even called back later, saying I was concerned that there were still a blockage (I'm still getting flooding) and was hoping they would be able to put a camera into the drain to diagnose the problem. And instead of working with me, they just referred me to another plumbing service. Essentially just passing on the problem to someone else instead of dealing with it directly. I'm sure these guys are great if you have a simple clog, but if you have a complicated issue and need a plumber / drain company who can actually diagnose a problem, I would not recommend. read more

If you have a specialized drain issue - Express Drains is awesome. They're great communicators, always on time, and have transparent pricing. We've used them twice. Once for a shower clog that a regular plumber couldn't snake that they quickly resolved. Another time for a serious clog from a toilet that required this crazy enormous special snake. We also had a suspected related issue that came up a month after the job and they came back out free of charge to check it out. I highly recommend this company to handle your clogged drain needs, wish I found him earlier. My drain issues started on Sunday and since most plumbers are off so I tried to resolve the clog as I have in the past. Something about the clog wasn't giving up with the few hours of trying to snake the drain myself. On Monday I called a bunch of plumbers that expressed zero interest coming out with a few over the phone diagnosis of the tree out front taking out the pipe... Repeating that, over the phone... The toilet in our retail business had been clogged for several days. We called a couple places to get pricing on how much it would cost to unclog. One company sent a couple guys out to look and they estimated the cost at $635. We then called Express Drains and the lady told us exactly how much the job would cost over the phone. I had been without my kitchen sink for four months due to a clog. I paid one plumber $150 to fix it and two weeks later, the pipes under the sink blew apart. I hired another plumber who fixed it; I paid him $150 and the sink stopped up within a few days. The third plumber told me I needed to have my concrete slab floor dug up to replace the pipe, which had been done 20 years ago when an entirely new drain system was put in. In November Express Drains cleared a clogged toilet and left the waste on the floor. They didn't even ask for a bucket. In April they pulled 15 pounds of human waste (see picture) from a main sewer line in the street. They then bagged the waste, carried it up the stairs to the front porch and deposited it there.
