Our church group traveled to Hartford and our bus broke down. Ketchem's accommodated our group of 20 instantly and treated us like family. The owner had a catering event to prep for but took the time to welcome us and open her venue across the courtyard with air conditioning for us to wait for our ride home. She even pulled out some dominoes for us to pass the time. She and her staff showed us true Christian Southern hospitality at its best. We will forever be loyal customers when in that area! Since the restaurant is only open Monday through Friday, I took the opportunity to stop by. We ordered a shrimp po' boy with fries, catfish with fries and grits, and a kids' chicken finger plate with fries. Unfortunately, the food was pretty bland and lacked the flavor I expected from a Cajun restaurant. I would give the food a 5/10. Everything was hot and fresh, but there was very little seasoning or flavor. There was also an issue with the shrimp po' boy. It was specifically requested without sauce, with the sauce on the side, but it was still prepared with sauce. Instead of simply remaking the sandwich correctly, we were asked if it was okay as is, which made it feel like we were being encouraged not to have it remade despite the mistake. Everyone's experience can be different, and this just happened to be my experience.
