The best home cooking' on the planet! Take it from a southern boy that has eaten food all over the world and in every southern state. This is the best thing you will put in your mouth! The service is exceptional with more southern hospitality and charm than you could ask for. It's a country dinner with plaid, plastic table clothes that just screams HOME. If you want real home cookin' that fills your belly and makes you useless the rest of the day, this is your place!!!!!

This is their Salisbury steak, rice and can anyone guess what that green side is SUPPOSED to be? No, cabbage.

This is their Salisbury steak, rice and can anyone guess what that green side is SUPPOSED to be? No, cabbage. Two plates totaling $25 and the rice doesn't even cover the bottom. ONE sliced, sliver of an onion and drops of gravy. I can't make this UP. Ruined my lunch and I left a tip in hopes of something grand. Run away, don't WALK. There is not a drop of soul in this food maybe because the greens were uncooked, meat was rushed and the love and soul was missing. If you can cook at home, DO SO.

Fried pork chops, fresh cabbage and baked Mac & Cheese.

Service was OK. Food was not quite up to par that day. Restaurant was very clean. Food did come out pretty fast.

Pork chops and corn bread was so good, mac and cheese was lacking but the cabbage and mash potatoes saved the side situation.

The nicely decorated dining room is super cozy. We tried the sweet potato fries as an appetizer- very crunchy with good taste. Decided on the Gouda burger and the roasted red pepper soup (on Alabama's 100 must try list) the soup was delicious.

Not so dire about GF tho. When you walk in you are greeted by the hostess. And the poster that shows the dish here that made it in to the "100 must try dishes in Alabama". The decor feels Bristo Comfy. About 11 wooden tables, mostly 4-tops. White metal chairs that really solidify the decor. Love the photos on the walls, especially "our adventure". I loved the coffee menu, and tried the dark elephant. Dark mocha with peanut butter--- yes pls. And adult Reese's cup in a mug! I also ordered the soup and sando combo, which sounds kinda plain... until you see the soups and sandwiches to choose from. And ... it allows you to try the dishes they are most known for , the red pepper soup and chicken salad. Whatever you order here, you will love. And the service. TippityTopTalent!! They serve all the dishes with a smile and are just sweet!! As I sit here, enjoying my meal and pondering.. it feels like the more accessible KBC.
