But just as I was about to start my car, the battery started clicking. It turned out to be a bad cell. I started to get a little worried and stressed because I'd never had battery problems before, and I didn't know what kind of battery I needed or if I'd have to keep jump-starting it every time I drove. The staff were incredibly patient with me. They were patient and took the time to explain exactly what was wrong with my battery, instead of just replacing it without a word. They were even more patient when we spent an hour trying to call my mom and Toyota to check on my car's warranty. After all that waiting, Katie and Jonathan changed my battery and still patiently explained to me what they were doing. I've never been happier getting my car maintained! I personally will not return to this particular location and I will explain why. I found out about this company through an ad, and I thought "oh wow, I love that they can quickly get me in and out, I don't have to get out of my car, and I DO need an oil change. Sign me up!" I pull in and they guide me into the spot where my service will begin and I instantly felt like they were trying to hustle me instead of help me. I was okay with the upselling, IF they took care of my original need before stacking on things to get what they wanted out of me. I felt unsure and uneasy through the entire process. One of the technicians even handled my car in a way that I would never handle my car, so I definitely did not like that. At the end I was just so happy to get out of there. The feeling of being hustled was a pretty bad feeling. I won't return. My car and I do not deserve such service. I'm a firm believer that if you just take care of the customers basic concern/main needs, you will earn trust and be able to open them up to the upselling presented to them, AFTER. I went in to the shop on July 22nd and they gave me the details that were needed to fix my control arms. I got a call a week later saying they had my wheel lock, and then I went back a week after the call to get it from The store and they said that they didn't have it. They did a diagnostic on my Nissan and they didn't charge me. They also did a battery check. The problem with the diagnostic is that it wasn't completely accurate. My Nissan had a DTC and it was malfunctioning and stalling at times. They didn't put a rivet back on the air duct/air box after the battery check. One guy there installed two rivets that I purchased at Advanced Auto Parts. One rivet had fallen off before I brought my Nissan in. I took my Nissan to a different shop and they told me my car needed a mass air flow sensor. The assistant manager at Express Oil Change told me an air hose had come off and a tech reattached it. I came here for an oil change and stayed in the car during it. It took 15-20 mins and my tech was very honest and pleasant. He didn't try to sell me anything and he told me I needed a tire rotation which I already knew. He showed me my air filter and said it was clean. My oil change at the dealership is basically the same price but it usually takes 1 hour or more and it is 30 mins away from my home. I'd rather come here during my lunch break and spend 15-20 mins to knock it out. I happen to go on Tuesday we're ladies get $5 off. Woohoo! Only small downside is my tech knew how to reset one part of my oil change indicator, but not the other on my computer screen. Thoroughly impressed with the level of customer service at this business. I came here on a Monday late afternoon right before their closing hours. They looked pretty busy when I arrived and I was unsure if I would be able to be seen that day but nope! They proved me wrong. Before I even got out of my vehicle one their mechanics, Arturo, walked up to me and asked what I needed. I came for a State Inspection for my truck and he said 'sure no problem'. The location is pretty convenient, right across the street from Lone Star College and a few restaurants next door for you to wait at including a Starbucks. Within 15 minutes I was in and out! Very surprised at the amount of good reviews considering my experience. Had a tire patched and everything was fine until shortly thereafter, it apparently was failing. My husband brought the car back to this same location and was told that there was nothing they could do to repair the tire because it had a bad patch done... but they're the ones who did the patch! So in spite of being made aware of this fact, there was no accountability or accommodation made, just told there is nothing they can do to fix a "bad patch job" and the only option was to replace the tire. The price of the replacement was HIGHER than what I ultimately paid at a Mercedes Benz dealership for the actual tire that belongs to my car. When it comes to these types of services, it's so hard to gauge what was done and if it was done appropriately because unless you're some sort of car expert, you'd never know! But I found out the hard way and considering the "customer service" received in the aftermath, I would never set foot in this place again. read more

I originally had a very lengthy review full of detail but you know what? Lets keep it simple, do not bring your vehicle here if it is not for an oil change, state inspection or tires. They tried to charge me $720.00 in labor for 4 plus hours of labor for something that wouldn't take over 2 hours of work. I took my vehicle elsewhere and spent half of what they were trying to charge me and work was complete right at 2 hours. I seen all of the high praise reviews and decided to give this place a try for the first time. Horrible decision!!! I'll get straight to the point. I paid over $300 for services there and had issues as soon as I arrived home the check engine light was on. Thank God I'm mechanically incline! As soon as I opened the hood I seen my intake hose not connected (just shoved back together). Now this comes from up-sales which I actually said yes to!!! Don't believe me look at the photos. I also paid for a higher grade oil (it's on my receipt) and my sticker says otherwise. NEVER WILL I GO OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! One guy service was really good and the other guy was to busy trying to look at girls or something he couldn't do his job. Both failed because I didn't get what I paid for. I actually still had to work on my own vehicle. If I could rate this place at a zero I would. RED FLAG And the owner comes and has this reply but never reaches out. I went to express because I had just bought a car for my daughter and the check engine light came on. The director of operations told me it needed a tune up as well as several other things including a fuel pump that for the part alone was going to be 1500 dollars. So we were looking at a total of over 2500 dollars. I decide to take my car to a personal friend who is a mechanic for a second opinion. After he diagnosed the car it only needed a thermostat and a fuel rail sensor with a total of 475 to fix. My husband's company takes all of their work trucks to this place to get serviced but after this situation none of us will ever go back! read more

Had the wife take her car here for an oil change and inspection. Now I'm usually the one that changes the oil in our cars but things has been busy lately so we decided to take the car here. Wife had to go to work the next day and the skid plate/ splash guard started to fall apart while she was driving on the freeway. There's only one reason this would happen and that's if you didnt put the screws that hold the guard back on. Whoever did the oil change is incompetent and lazy (with the initials ISI). Out of the 7-8 screws and plastic clips, only two were attached. I know it's a pain and time consuming to put the screws back on but you gotta do your damn job correctly! read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!! I recently went there to get my brakes done and oil changed. Upon arrival at 9 am, I was informed that they wouldn't be able to start work on my vehicle for an hour, and they recommended that I leave my vehicle. Nearly three hours later I got a call stating that the oil change would be $90 dollars and the rear brakes would cost $495! They needed to replace the rotors and replace pads (rotors only needed to be resurfaced). These guys clearly are taking advantage of customers who they think are uninformed. EXTREME PRICE GOUGING!!! Based on the high reviews, I decided to bring my car here for maintainance. Unfortunately, I received very bad service. They charged me a lot of unnecessary things. They did everything they could to make more money. For example, my car was just inspected in February 2024, so I didn't need to go for an inspection until January 2025. However, they charged for the inspection when it was really unnecessary. Also, I said I wanted a tune-up, but the most important thing to change was the timing belt, but they didn't do it. Instead, they did unnecessary work for a very high service fee. In the morning when I brought my car here, a mechanic told me that I only needed to do 4 things: fluid, flush,radiation, and coolen, which totaled about $350. I also asked if my car needed anything else and he said "Everything is perfect". However, in the afternoon when I picked up the car, another mechanic told me that my brakes only had 10% performance left and needed to replace both the front and rear brakes, which was about $800 in total, plus $350 for 4 things in the morning, so a total is around $1k1. Actually, I don't know anything about cars, that's why I followed what they said. Luckily, at that time I didn't have enough money so I just decided to replace the front brakes. When I got home, I asked my uncle who was a mechanic before and he said that the cost of buying front and rear brakes was only about $100-200, the service fee here was too expensive. I felt very disappointed bc of trusting this place. Anyway, this is also a lesson for me in the future. read more

Based on a recommendation I decided to go against my better judgment and give the neighborhood Express Oil a try instead of my normal mechanic who has serviced my 2012 BMW 528i for the past 5 years since my maintenance plan ended. My low oil light came on earlier in the day which prompted me to get it checked out since it was time for an oil change. Upon arrival I was greeted by a pleasant young man who walked me inside to the waiting area. I excitedly noticed I was the only person there at the time, so I should be in and out. The young man who walked me in later advised me of the cost which I agreed to. Honestly, I was thrilled as the cost was cheaper than I had ever paid. After an hour or so, I was advised by the manager that they could not perform the oil change because the plug was sealed shut, and they did everything they could do to unplug the drain. I was not advised what that meant, but I trusted the expert. Shocked, I left the waiting area to reunite with my car as it was driven from the bay to the door. As I drove off on Barker Cypress not 1/2 mile from the facility, another light unexpectedly came on: drivetrain malfunction! Confused, I called my regular mechanic and scheduled an appointment for the following day. Before attempting anything, he immediately called me to the back where my car was lifted. He showed me the actual oil drain plug which had been stripped and chipped away along one side. He demonstrated with the tool he typically uses for every oil change he's conducted on my car. He asked if I knew if the facility used the proper 10 mm tool and questioned why they continued if they had this level of difficulty. Of course, I could not answer those questions. He did not want to make any additional attempts for fear of additional damage. I was allowed under the car to take pics to show the damage to the plug. I asked of other options since I still need an oil change, and he advised of replacing the drain pan if the plug could not be released which is upwards of 1200 for parts and labor. After all this, I forgot about the drivetrain malfunction until after I left and it reappeared.‍ My husband encouraged me to meet him at Express Oil to discuss the matter further. Unfortunately, we were told by the manager that stripped plugs happen all the time and he was certain they used the right tools, although I had not asked about tools yet. He was convinced the issue was with the previous mechanic for sealing the drain plug too tight. He claims there was a thick layer of glue which made it impossible to separate. He emphasized again that they did everything they could to release the drain and change the oil. I'm not one to place blame as I strive to give anyone and everyone the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, the defensive, unapologetic tone is what really disappointed me more than anything else. Sorry, but I question this manager's professionalism and expertise. He went further to share that his staff attempted to extract oil from the top of the pan. Really?? I should have been notified immediately! I didn't get the chance to speak up for my car; and now I have a drivetrain malfunction light on in addition to the oil light after attempting to get an oil change. This may ultimately be the most expensive oil change I've ever had. Thanks alot Express Oil Change!! It's been anything but a pleasant experience! Talk about costly blind faith!! My rating is based on the facility not making me aware of the challenges in advance and giving me a choice to strip my oil plan plug and chip away at it to render it irreparable. In addition, the manager's response to everything was disappointing. To have an additional light on after an oil change attempt is unacceptable after learning of unsuccessful alternate efforts made that I was not aware of. What additional damage was done? read more

Came here for new tires for my two cars, they match other offers and give free rotations for life of tire. Also had brakes changed on both my cars -- they explained to me what a rotor, brake pad, and caliper is, showed me them on my car and why certain things needs replacement and others don't. I had a great experience for an oil change. They told me the check engine light was for a thermostat. A week later steam came from under the hood and it was the heater hose. I came in at 9 and out by Noon for the thermostat and heater hose. This is not just an oil change place like you see in the front, but several Bay's to service in back. SCAMMED.. Took my Van in and they said Cooling Fan Assembly needs to be replaced ( 400 bucks for part ) I say ok. Get Van back same day and next day still same problem. No change whatsoever so i take it back and now they say Oh it's a relay that needs to be replaced. But don't worry were not going to charge you for part. I'm no rocket scientist but i'm willing to bet anything that relay part was wayyyy cheaper than that assembly i just paid 400 bucks for. Go figure... did i get scammed you bet it did! Why didn't they just replace that relay the first time and probably would have saved me 300 bucks at minimum?!
