The…read morelast time prior to this recent experience was earlier this year in January to have my brand new vehicle tinted. I wouldn't go anywhere else with my new vehicle. I have a panoramic roof, and I decided not to have it tinted at the time since I had the manufacturer's tint (which really isn't much, it's just colored film rather than tint). The car also has an automated blind cover that I rarely open due to the UV rays/heat exposure. The rest of my windows were tinted with their ceramic tint, so the cabin is relatively cool. However, since my panoramic roof wasn't tinted, and it is now summer, cabin gets so hot and the back seat passengers usually feel the heat during the drive. SO, I came by to have my panoramic roof tinted with 5% ceramic tint (darkest). They get so busy during the summer time, and they were so accommodating to fit me in, and had the work done in a reasonable time, same day. Competitive pricing too! I love that I have this tinted now as I don't feet the heat, and cabin feels nice and cool! Love it! Love their work, as it is of good quality. Service is also great too- friendly, informative, and efficient. Other vendors were quoting double the price of what Shield X asks for too. Highly recommend!

After evaluating it, Tesla confirmed that the lines in the glass were caused by external forces -- most likely excessive heat -- and not by any manufacturing defect. They were very clear that there is no scenario where the vehicle would have left the factory with this type of damage. Because of that, the replacement was not covered under warranty, and I had to pay $1,535 out of pocket. Here's what this experience has cost me: * $300 for the original tint * $150 for tint removal -- which I was never informed would be charged, and they only told me I "owed money" after removing it * $1,535 for a new windshield due to damage caused during their tint installation That's almost $2,000 lost, and I'm left with no tint, a brand‑new windshield I had to pay for myself, and zero accountability from the shop. To make matters worse, the owner laughed at my wife during the conversation. That alone tells you everything about the level of professionalism you can expect. If you choose to get your tint done here, understand this clearly: If something goes wrong, you will get no support, no responsibility, and possibly even disrespect. What you may get is a bill for the damage they caused.

First red flag: the quote they gave me came in well under what they actually charged. They said I told them it was a Model S. I don't think I did, but either way, I get that glass for an X costs more. Then they insisted I pay my Geico deductible up front, before anything else. And they blew up my phone -- several calls a day until they got that payment. I couldn't always answer because I'm on conference calls and I get a ton of spam calls anyway. It felt weird, but fine, I figured paying first was no big deal. They gave me the option of Zelle or credit card. I used a credit card. Always do. Thank goodness. Glass comes in, they tell me they're ready for me. I asked for the address so I'd know I was going to the right place -- and that's when they told me I'd have to drive to Temecula. 51 minutes away. Nobody mentioned that at any point. I told them no, I'm not driving out there with a cracked windshield, sitting around for three hours, and then driving home in that traffic. They said that's all they could do. No alternative, nothing offered. So I asked for a refund. And that's when they went silent. No calls, no texts, no replies. They said someone would reach out to resolve it. Still waiting. Funny how they had all the time in the world to chase me down when they wanted my money, and none at all when it's time to give it back.
