This company installed new HVAC a few years back. We had them serviced today to find out that on one of the furnaces, the technician installing the unit cracked a part by overtightening it. To keep it from leaking, he put red silicone around it. As the silicone wore off from dampness, it leaked. He had to have known since he tried to patch it up in a hidden way. SHADY SHADY SHADY! We spent a lot of money on these units and they do this? I'd never EVER use them again or recommend them to ANYBODY. BEWARE!! (also at installation, they showed up with 96% efficiency units when we bought and paid for 98%---I saw the boxes and made them install the correct units). read more

This guy Josh Ahrens was such an arrogant Jerk on the phone, that I could not believe it. My home warranty company sent me them as a Tech to contact for an AC problem. Josh acted liked he didn't know the insurance company, nor did he want to be bothered by my claim with the insurance company. Just a complete Jerk to try and talk to on the phone, truly unbelievable. Of course my AC goes out the night before the hottest day this year! I called this company due to word of mouth from some trusted friends and BOOM they were here the next afternoon! For that I give a huge shout out to Josh and Mike who came to my rescue! Not only did they replace the starter but also went down and verified my furnace was operating correctly. (I am a total chic and do not have a clue) They also said that my AC motor was looking a bit rough but would go ahead and order one and have it waiting when it stops. I respect that highly cuz they could have told me it needed replaced now. Honesty is critical to me and I am grateful for theirs. Price, service and timely response have sold me on this company. On June 23, 2023 my wife and I purchased a new combination heating and air conditioning system from Express Pros located at 5015 Ward Road in Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033. The sales representative, Josh, was very polite and explained everything quite well. The system we purchased is an Amana Heating and air conditioning system that cost us $23,659 and was supposed to be a very good unit with a ten year warranty and is the right size for our house. The Express Pros team came to our house and spent several days installing this new system. The system we were supposed to receive was not available, so they installed a system that is the next size larger. They did a beautiful job of installing the system, but agreed to come out in a few months and add a couple more vents to accommodate this larger system. However, the air conditioning did not work properly so they had to stay a few days longer to troubleshoot the system. This developed into a couple of months of trouble shooting the problems, trying to find out why the system would only work a short time and then fail. They replaced almost every one of the major components of the system before they got the A/C to work. When it was time to use the heating system, it failed to put out any heat. That was  months ago.  My wife texted the installer on November 27, 2023 to find out when the tech would come check the system. He came here on November 30 and checked the system. That was when he determined they had installed the wrong thermostat and said he would order the right one. On December 22 we had not heard from him so my wife messaged him about the thermostat. He agreed to call the company to find out about the delay. She messaged him again on December 23 and he replied saying the Amana distributor claimed they sent the correct thermostat directly to our house. We never received anything in the mail from the Amana distribution company. Now they blame each other for the problem while we have been left sitting here for over 230 days with a $23,659 product that does not work. My wife and I are both senior citizens with partial disabilities and living on a fixed income. We saved our money for a long time to get this system and are very disgusted with the poor quality system and the company that sold it to us. We need help. We feel cheated. We would like to have a heating air conditioning system that works instead of this $23,569 headache. read more

The good: My furnace went out and they were here immediately. Friendly technician. After I called about my issues, they refunded my initial service charge. The bad: Charged $1000 to change out the motor. Did not fix the problem. Was then told to change the thermostat. I went to ACE, got a thermostat and changed it out. Didn't fix it. Then I saw the flashing red light on the furnace which google said was a pressure switch error. I called them and told them this (essentially I had to diagnose the problem). After a night without heat in 20 degree temps, they came back and switched it out. Turns out on amazon the part costs $20. They charged me $429. They also tried to charge me another service charge for having to come out the second day. read more

Bad Experience With Express Pros ! SCAM ALERT Called them to get a furnace inspection and the tech (Jason) arrived and stated that our furnace had a Heat Exchange Crack and it was leaking deadly Co2 gasses into the house and that our family was in danger. Note :Jason did not take off the cover necessary to perform an industry standard test like scoping or even a visual. He stated that the crack would just get worse and we needed a new furnace ASAP. he just so happed to have an opening the following day and a quote for a furnace was sent in moments. Something didn't feel right at all so we called a Home inspector for a non bias second opinion. The home inspector did an actual check by exposing the covers needed to see the heat exchangers and found ZERO cracks. I had asked Express pros multiple times for something in writing stating that my furnace had a cracked heat exchanger and received a report that only stated the obvious, my furnace was not new and it was the techs OPINION that the Exchanger was cracked . You can look at my post history and see that I have never posted a bad review on any business but I felt it necessary in this situation because I don't want another family out 10 grand because of the scare tactics that I believe were used to manipulate us into buying a Furnace from Express Pros. read more

I am so happy I called Express Pros! We recently bought our condo and hired another company to replace a drain pan for us. Needless to say, they did a terrible job and we had water leaking less than a week later. They seemed to have no clue what was wrong and asked for another $600 to fix it or offered to tear apart our entire wall! I was over it with the other company and called these guys. Andrew listened to me explain the issue and was able to fit me in for an appointment just a few days later. He thoroughly explored the issue and was able to come up with a solution and even installed a new thermostat for me while he was there since I had no clue how to do it. He even replaced a lot of our piping that was old that the other company didn't notice or neglected to tell us about. He called back the next day to make sure everything was working properly and even came back to make another small fix with my drain pipe. And they did all this for $150 cheaper than what the other company charged us! We got a better deal and much better service by calling Express Pros, they will be our first call next time! read more

Sometimes things that happen by chance are in your favor. After waking up to a 54 degree house, I figured I better call some HVAC people. The house we bought had a sticker on the duct work from this business and while I couldn't remember if they were the ones that installed out new furnace and AC when we bought the place, I decided to call them anyways. They didn't have record of my address but were quick to offer services. Connor arrived about a hour later and explained my options, prices were all up front, he explained things so that I understood and was just great. What can I say, This was a great experience for having to replace a furnace and AC. I called them on a Wednesday and had a estimate done Friday afternoon. Their estimate came in very reasonable compared to other companies out there. We were able to schedule this for a week later it was a tough job the furnace was in a crawl space and had to be removed piece by piece and the new one had to be installed in a reverse position. The 2 installers were extremely polite and never complained once about the difficulty of this job. Express Pros in my opinion went above and beyond and did a 5 star installation. The new system is bigger and more efficient compared to the 21 year old system that was removed. The air flow is unbelievable. I cant speak for the heat as of yet but the AC cools the townhouse almost 8 degrees cooler than its ever been with the old system. Totally impressed with this business! I made the call late last week to have someone come out and just make sure my air conditioner was in good shape and ready for the heat. I was immediately sent a text message after the call indicating who my Technician would be and was reminded again the day of when he was headed my way too! To my surprise the Tech was training another so I got a bonus of information! They went over each and every detail of my unit with me and explained preventative maintenance as well as what I as a Homeowner can do to keep my unit in well running operation. I was asked multiple times if I had any questions and I really appreciated all of the advice. They let me know their company offers a program that you pay a small amount monthly and then they come service your units yearly and if any parts are needed you try a discount for being a member of the program. That sounds like a perfect program and I am anxious to call and learn more. I would absolutely recommend Express Pros to anyone looking for help with their heating and air! read more

The company was picked by my home warranty 2-10 to perform the AC repair. I waited for several days for the scheduled appointment, which was cancelled 10min prior to the scheduled slot. New appointment was scheduled, also cancelled 10min prior to the new slot. It was made clear to me that I have to pay extra above the $100 deductible, in order for technician to show up, or wait many many days otherwise. Mid next week, not guaranteed. Charged $300, they called it "after hours charge", though the job was done at plain weekday 4pm. After "extra pay" technician immediately shows up. Tells me the starter has to be replaced. $10 starter. Both on Amazon and Home Depot. No kidding. $10 piece. Technician tells me he wants $460. Or tells me to wait 1mo "till insurance approves it and we able to get you on a schedule." Stunning. Replacement takes 3min flat. All together $760 for 3min work or regular weekday 4pm. I am being told to seek reimbursement from my home insurance company. Home insurance tells me the job was supposed to be $150... bottomline, this was not the experience I would recommend. read more

I rarely ever post poor reviews unless it's absolutely necessary. We used Express Pros through our home warranty policy and put in a claim on September 7th. They said they were only down to one technician for the week of our appointment and were understaffed, which I completely understand. I wasn't frustrated that they had to reschedule their initial appointment to two days later. What I was frustrated about was that when we had a window of the tech coming from 8-12, and when it was 11:55 with no update on when the tech was coming, we had to call our home warranty company. They 3-way called Express Pros and a woman with a nasty, unprofessional, rude attitude answered the phone. She said verbatim, "okay, so what do you want me to do? Ask the technician not to come anymore?" We weren't calling to complain, we just wanted an update as we had to work from home two days prior during their initial consultation, the next day that they rescheduled but never showed up, and the next day where we finally had someone come out to look at our AC. I've had to call our warranty company to see if they entered the claim to add more refrigerant and a sealant that Jason told us he'd need our warranty company to approve. Jason was nice and helpful. Jonathan, who I was able to get ahold of was also nice and apologetic. That's why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. We called Express Pros today to see if they were able to call in the claim to add more refrigerant and I can only assume the same woman answered the phone saying they already put the claim in the same day as Jason came in. I called our warranty company to confirm and come to find out Express Pros cancelled our work order without any explanation. Two weeks was wasted waiting for someone to look at our AC. Called them for A/C that was noisy- their ad in Home Mag advertised $59 for a service call. Technician took off main cover and electrical box cover, said there could be something major wrong. However, the unit only needed cleaning, he was done in 30 min. and charged an additional $259, over $300, for just cleaning the A/C. We tried unsuccessfully to get the bill reduced, they threatened us with collection. Other companies charge $99-200 for this service. read more

My air conditioner broke during a 90 degree heat wave and I called a company to come and look at it. The guy told me I needed a new air conditioner, but I didn't believe him. Someone at work suggested I call Express Pros and the technician, Josh, came and figured out the problem. It was a part that needed to be replaced. I am so grateful that he was honest and didn't try to tell me I needed a new air conditioner. I will recommend Express Pros to everyone I know! read more

Signed up for their $59 service call. I specified a 2 hour window appointment time. Technician was 30 minutes late and called just after the 2 hr window to notify me - apologetic and sincere. I was unable to be present for the service, but my wife was nearby. I received a call and a photo that showed my cooling fins were very clogged with dust and cottonwood cotton. I was asked if I'd like to have it cleaned (by the technician). I asked how much it would cost and their lowest cleaning 'package' was $189! Based on the technician's recommendations, I agreed to the cleaning, believing that the readings for the service call would be more accurate (per conversation with technician) and that the cleaning might take a while. It didn't. The cleaning took only about 20 minutes and that was all that was needed. While I have no issues with the servicing and various performance checks, the cost of the cleaning is excessive. I called the company to see if they could adjust the $189, since it was hardly worth that much - they didn't budge. My advice, either do your own cleaning or get another company and make sure you understand any extra charges that come with a low service call special. read more

Mike did some beautiful can lights for us in both our living room and our basement, as well as installed a new ceiling fan. Not only was his crew pleasant and friendly, but they covered our furniture in plastic so it wouldn't get any dust or dirt on it. They cleaned up after themselves, and walked us through all the work at the end of the project. We had called 3 other companies for a price, and Express Pros was not only the best price- they were the most honest about the cost and gave us options too. Almost a year later, we had a couple issues with our house electricity and Mike came over almost immediatly to help us out, even when he was headed out on vacation. Good old fashion customer service, great company and guys. If you are in the Arvada, Longmont, Westminster area- give them a call!! read more

This company is wonderful. This review may be a bit long but you need to know the level of professionalism they bring to the table. My home was built in 1951. When I decided to remodel my kitchen I was informed I needed to do the "service update on the main panel". I had gotten a few recommendations from some friends and then got bids from all of them. I chose Mike's company Express Pros for various reason, his price was right there with the others, but most of all I felt I could trust him and I was correct. I had older dogs that liked to say hello to the workers and antiques so needed to feel comfortable with people in my home. Mike the owner came out and gave me a bid, job by job. Once the work was started he always arrived on time and he and his employees always cleaned up after themselves (this is another aspect hard to find if you have ever worked with any contractors). Besides the main panel needing to be updated he also, corrected some work on my outside lights, added motion detectors to another part of my backyard, installed a junction box to living room (and crawled into a very low ceiling area with a lot of blown in insulation, so sorry Mike) for a ceiling fan to be installed, did the install of all the electrical outlets in my kitchen, and helped me spend more money in my kitchen with adding under lower cabinet colored lighting....he actually gave me that idea and I ran with it but he found a company that supplied the lights much cheaper than I was able to find which topped off my beautiful remodel. After this remodel was completed I had one of his HVAC people come out to check out my 31 year old furnace to give it a good overall look and cleaning. He didn't try to up sell me on a new one. Bottom line...Express pros are honest; everyone that works for Mike was respectful, clean, and cordial. read more

I would not recommend this company at all. Maybe if they had made a better effort to make things right I would but there was never any customer service like that to do so. I was referred to them by Federal Heating and Supply in Denver and trusted their recommendation because of their reputation in the industry, they used to do servicing but no longer do and they recommended Express Pros. I was in a pinch in November 2015 to get a furnace install done as winter had arrived in Colorado. Over the course of a few months it took them 11, yes eleven separate visits from to complete the job of installing a new Lennox furnace as well as a water heater. They also subcontract out most of their work as I came to find out. As a new homeowner I was unaware of the permitting process and they do not pull permits or recommend you do so in their quoting process. This is probably because of their work quality as I came to find out any reputable service company will recommend a homeowner to pull a permit. When asked if one could be pulled after realizing the horrible job done, they were reluctant to do so and the first inspection failed (despite the 10 other attempts of fixing stuff) resulting in their final eleventh visit. I had initially thought I would use them again to do the A/C install come spring time, but after the hassle and poor workmanship from the furnace and water heater install I decided against it and went with Now Heating and Air which I highly recommend for any HVAC work you may need done. read more
