Owner of the company gave me so called rough estimate over the phone without coming and inspecting my roof. As an engineer I can tell you that is not the way of doing any project small or large. I got a mailer with a bunch of home services in it delivered to my house in Ventura. Since I am looking to get a new roof, I went to their website to see if they did work in Ventura County and according to their site, they do. Since they provided an 805 area code, which is the Ventura area code, I called them. I gave the person on the phone my phone numbers, address, etc. and they said they would have someone call me back about getting an estimate. About 1/2 later someone did call to tell me that they DO NOT do work in Ventura. So why does it say they do on their website and why didn't the person on the phone tell me this? If they can't get this together, I am glad they won't be working on my house. read more

Amit and his crew did a great job installing a brand new cool roof, as the 30 year-old shingles that comprised our previous roof were curling up and on their last legs. I was able to get a rebate from LADWP at the rate of 20 cents per square foot contingent on the new roof meeting the threshold for minimum reflectivity. It cost $12,570; I got this pricing by getting a competitive quote from another roofing company and then negotiating additional features against that quote like cost of some required additional shiplap wood and plywood, a reflective radiant barrier on the underside of the roof visible from inside the garage, extra thick material under the shingle tiles themselves and over the plywood, replacement of flashings, etc. Amit was very honest, responsible and reliable throughout the process. The quality of the roof work was great. However, there was debris that came down on the attic floor after the days of work on the roof. When we requested that he return with his crew to clean up the debris, he reported that this often happened but that he was not responsible to do any cleaning as stated in his contract. Following the work, I noticed that in the attic there were quite a few nails that were poking down through the ceiling; I told him it was dangerous to walk there due the possibility that these sharp nails could injure someone. He agreed to return and bend back those protruding nails so that they were no longer a hazard. Overall he did a superior job at a reasonable price. I would definitely hire him again. read more

Express Roofing did the job and then went the extra mile. We were referred to Express Roofing by a friend that had used them. My mother's roof needed work because there were several leaks into the house. She is on a budget so she could not afford to replace the roof. Amit from Express Roofing gave us an estimate. We got other bids as well and most of the bids had similar work, but not exact. Two of the other companies limited there warranty to the first rain. Amit gave us a full 5 year warranty. We felt that the price was a good value and went with Express Roofing. At first we were put off by Amit's easy going nature--"don't worry". But he was very professional when time came for the signing of the contract. There was no rush and the many pages of the consumer contract were explained. All notices were explained and all our questions answered before signing. We saw that he was actually very detailed oriented and serious about his work. Amit was on the roof during the work and found a bunch of nail holes that were penetrating the roof and sealed them. He sealed more cracks in the rooftop air ducts than he wrote into the contract, and he did and extra patch around a duct going through the roof. He did not make a big deal about doing the extra work, nor did he charge any extra. When he returned the next morning to inspect the roof (and get his final payment) he realized that he forgot to have his crew clean out the gutters. Without asking he went around the entire roof and cleaned out the gutters with his hands. Having a satisfied and happy customer was obviously important to him. read more

I was dealing with a 30 year old roof that had a cricket that was leaking like a sieve and some bothersome flashings so I decided to replace the whole roof. Got some estimates, one of which was from Amit at Express Roofing. I really liked the materials and prices offered so I decided to go with them. Came on time, was proffesional, he was writting some notes on his pad, when I asked if he can provide me something in writting, he proposed to do a snap shot with my phone. So far the price was reasonable. I will probably try this company for a roof maintenance. The one thing I didn't get, for the roof repair they don't provide any warranty. Is it the standart for roofing, I don't know. Usually contractor gives you at least one year warranty,not in this case. read more

Cheapest with some issues but good follow up. I had a leak above my front porch, 7 broken and 6 slipped concrete tiles, and some rusted nails holding some roof rakes. Amit was the cheapest of my four roofer estimates. When I selected him he listed all of the work clearly and went over the contract very thoroughly and professionally. He said he could get to the job on Fri. or Tues. When he didn't show up on Tues., I called and he said he would come the next day, without explanation of why he didn't call or show up. He showed up the next day and patched a front porch leak area and replaced the broken and slipped tiles in 2 hours. His porch fix left a couple of exposed nails (seen from below). I called him and he came back the next week and fixed them (cut and painted). I tested the porch leak area with a hose and found a minor secondary leak thru a nail holding one tile. Amit found and sealed it and it was leak free when I re-tested 3 days later. read more
