Recently I stopped in twice to inquire about having an employee place an order so shipping would be free. Each time the same male (possibly manager) employee helped me. I decided not to order the first time because shipping can't be waived if you use rewards. Once the item was on clearance I decided to stop in again. The same male employee was there. He is extremely rude. While logging into the system he asked why was I there and didn't place the order myself. Once he placed the order I politely said I'll take the paper with my email and phone number on it. He insisted twice that he'll will dispose it of. Again I said that I would like it. He handed it to me without saying thank you. He must be miserable and hate his job. He didn't smile once, wasn't polite, or have manners. He had the same behavior each visit so I'm not really sure what his issue is. I don't shop with Express often but next time I do it'll be at another location. read more

Horrible customer service. They will force you to keep garments that don't fit. Their sizing is inconsistent. They adhere so strictly to their return and exchange policy forcing you to keep clothes that don't fit. Customer service will take a week at a time to respond to an email. I came to see if i can exchange a dress for a different size since I got i as a Christmas gift and it didn't fit. The girl who was at the register (wished I could have gotten her name) the way she attended me was not kind of her. It seemed as she was very icky about grabbing the dress , the receipt & the little tag that came on the dress. If you would have asked for the receipt first and told me I couldn't then I would been gone. I'm bother on how she acted like I don't have germs LOL. I had an awful experience at this Express location. I found a perfect selection of clothes and was excited to try them on, but the employees were extremely rude. I had a very poor experience. I was not greeted. Nobody offered us any type of assistance while i was in the store. All the fitting rooms were locked and no employee offered to let me in. My wife and I went in to get her some work clothes. My wife is on the plus size, so she was a bit timid to walk in... but the customer service representative (who is maybe Philippine) walked over and helped her tremendously! I bought clothes online and wanted to return them at the store. The employee said I could get store credit that could be used at anytime in store or online. I asked if she would give me a gift card for store credit or would she credit my account. She said no, you get store compensation. Huh? She rolled her eyes and gave a snide look to her coworker. Another employee stepped in and graciously explained what the term meant; you take your clothes back with you and can exchange at that time for the exact amount, but not less. If you buy online, then bring those new and old clothes in and do the exchange at that time. I thanked her for her clear explanation and said the other employee didnt explain well at all. Visited on a Friday in the early afternoon. Two separate staff members were wonderfully attentive and helpful with my questions & needs. My measurements are little odd so unfortunately they didn't have exactly what I was looking for in my size, but I can't fault them for this. It's something to be expected. They made every effort to find alternative pieces that fit me just right. My only major gripe was a systematic issue. The young woman who rung me up offered to sign me up for the rewards program and suggested that due to the amount I was spending it would be worth it. I opted for an email receipt as well. I got an email confirmation for the rewards but never received my receipt, and upon registering for the rewards program found no accumulated points from the purchase or way to add in purchases not linked to the rewards initially. Just a little frustrating as I'm not a regular customer and that incentive to come back having earned some form of a discount was appealing. read more

Went in for a return. The girl forgot to scan in two items - if I hadn't checked my receipts after leaving, I would've been robbed of $90+ worth of clothing. I went in to have it corrected, and she was barely apologetic, and wasn't even surprised that she had missed some items. Just wanted to warn others to beware when making returns at this location. Otherwise, I do still enjoy my Express clothing which is the reason for 2 stars instead of one. I've had good experiences with her on several occasions now, and that is what will keep me coming back to this particular location. I love Express' designs and trends as well. Stopped by to get an understanding of what's up with the current style..... "slim" or "skinny fit." Now I know all the fellas out there aren't your slim/skinny kind of guys but it seems every store has started catering to the Justin Bieber type body style (nothing against JB, his last album was dope). But nonetheless there are guys out there (like myself) who aren't built like 12 year old girls (no offense, just how I see it). I walk in, take a quick glance and see "skinny" this... "slim" that and I am already like, "WTF?!" Who greets me, a young lady named Zoe who asks me if I needed help. I engage her in conversation regarding the latest epidemic that is affecting the male species and she assures me that there would be something for me there. She told me not to worry about the name of the shirts because she guarantees that I would be good to go in the slim fit 1MX shirt. Pants are a little more of a challenge because the majority of them are slim and tapered. Athletic guys generally have a harder time (like some women I've talked to regarding the waist to thigh ratio) but she still offered suggestions of what I should try on at some point. She sent me to her co-worker in the zone where the men's shirts were so I could try on one of the styles. At this point Caroline helped me get fitted for a button down that was surprising well fitted. I found out that I am a L in the slim fit 1MX shirt. Who would have knew. **Side Note** before this visit I was at H&M and tried on their XL slim fit shirt and I was about to bust out like the Incredible Hulk... smh All in all this was a good shopping experience and I know what shirts to get when I decide grab some. Bad customer service. Sales reps and managers don't know how to process an exchange. Was stuck at this store for 90+ minutes trying to resolve an error the cashier made on our exchange. Fucking walked away with nothing and lost my $30 reward credit and spent $11 on something I didn't even buy. "Managers" wouldn't provide district manager name or contact. Don't get me wrong I buy here a lot. For me and my wife. Quality of clothes are really good, place is cleaned and organized. Only think is like ok weekdays the workers they have is always on top but the weekend seems like they never have enough people there. Only or person on the register sometimes it take a me like 45 minutes to pay because of the line. I really try to avoid going on weekend but sometimes with work is hard. I knew Express was the right spot but was freaking out because for one, I knew nothing about the sizing and never purchased a suit before. However, I'd like to take a moment to thank Greg and Mariana for their extensive help. They never met my bf, he was not available to try on anything and just based on my explanation, Greg gave the PERFECT size and fitting. How lucky is that? Mariana gave great suggestions on style and understood I was rushing so she hurried up everything (in a good way), both went to the back multiple times to find sizes and really provided the greatest help. Came here to return an item. The store was clean and rather small. Very different service from what I've had at other stores in the past. Maybe because this area isn't as upscale as I'm used to, however the representative was very short and unhelpful. I asked for pants that were 30 waist and 32 length. The rep seems like he was lost and did badly when finding or suggesting appropriate items. When I spent over $80 he didn't even say thank you, and nothing in particular that would make me come back to this hideous servicing of a store. I've been shopping at Express since I was in high school, and have had the opportunity to visit locations in several cities and states. By far, this one is the worst, which is especially surprising as they are located in a very nice mall. Perhaps it is time for this store to find a larger location within the mall...the selection of clothing (though well organized) is the smallest of any Express I have shopped at, and to make matters worse, half the clothes are for men. Thier selection is not at all representative of the entire line they offer. Sadly, the staff here is equally as unequipped to sell thier clothing and not up to par with the staff and management at other locations. They are borderline rude, and uneducated about things that come second nature to other stores. The customer service her is definitely lacking, and for the prices I cannot stomach that. This review is more for the overall clothing brand rather than this particular location. This location is pretty small, and does not offer most of the items you can find online. Plus, the lines here can be long and take forever since there are only two cash registers. However, EXPRESS as a company is fantastic, and offers discounts daily. These discounts are usually for 40-50% off and really makes a difference when you're looking at $80 shirts and pants. She refused to return my items because my new ID didn't match my card and wouldn't consider my expired ID that did match it. I usually love express but this location is horrible! I had an issue with a coupon and no one in that store could help me out. I shop at express frequently in large part because of their reward system. When my reward coupon wouldn't work only thing their manager could tell me was "call customer relations". Customer relations was closed so needless to say I was unable to use my reward coupon. What's the point in having a manager if they can't provide customer service or a solution. To top it all off, ask them to put my purchase on my Express CC, they asked me a few questions to look up my account but never even checked my ID! No secure at all. Honestly coming to this Express had made me realize why I always go to the express at South Coast Plaza. While making a return, with tags on the blouse, the girl behind the counter talked to someone on her headset. Another girl came to the counter and said yeah we can't take this it has makeup on the collar. I replied by saying okay but that's not from me or maybe I got a little bit on while trying it the top on but the top doesn't fit me. Well all I got from them was a store credit and an attitude. My whole work wardrobe is 90% express. I have not shopped at this location since and continue to shop at The South Coast Plaza location. The two Hispanic girls that act like they are express security need to get their customer service in check.
