The rating might be low for this station because it's for both the gas station and mechanic service. I'm rating the latter. I could not find another Yelp listing for it, so I'm putting my review here. Said and Otto have helped us many times with our vehicles. They are very busy, but always take the time to chat and understand what is going on with our cars, as well as give us sage advice on how to keep them running optimally. We had a problem with an unknown noise coming out of our Subaru, and they spent quite a bit of time driving it around and disassembling suspect areas. We couldn't pinpoint the issue, but Said laid out all the potential worst-case scenarios, none of which were terrible, putting us at ease. I don't recall that he charged us anything. Another time our Prius had a flat, just before Thanksgiving, and even though they had lots of cars to work on, they still squeezed us in and got it going again so we could make our holiday travel possible. All pricing is very reasonable, and as far as I can tell, below what most others would charge. They are honest, and try to save you money by not doing unnecessary repairs. Got my car smogged here recently and it was quick and easy with excellent service. Only four stars because sometimes when I'm walking my dog I want to buy a lotto ticket but the lady that works there doesn't like dogs so I can't go in. read more

Skip it. 1) Crap service: This has been an ongoing issue with this place. Every so often, a genuinely capable person will be manning the till, but for the most part the people working here are nigh worthless. In a way, it's funny, but in another it just makes me mad. Lest I forget, they've taken to locking the doors whenever the cashier is on break, which in the last few weeks has pretty much been every time I've tried to go in. I imagine this is done to prevent theft in lawless Kensington, but 2)Ironically they bilked me out of $10: I paid cash for $10 worth of gas. Turns out, the gas didn't pump and I was too busy cleaning my windshield to notice. I only caught it after I pulled out and was down the road a ways; I arrived with an eighth of a tank and when I checked after I pulled out, my gas gauge hadn't moved from an eighth of a tank. I went back to the station to either get my money returned or get the gas I paid for, only to be greeted by incredulity and ,"What?" plus more "What?" Well, here's what: keep the $10 and spend it wisely. It's the last of my money you'll see. This is a great station where they have avoided the current trend of hiking prices ridiculously. Their prices are consistently at least $.50 lower than nearby stations, and often more. I really appreciate business owners who are not taking advantage of Covid to inflate prices. It's a good business model - then you get many repeat customers who love you. They also keep the station very clean, and there's always windshield washer brushes in water to wash your windshield with, and the store is nicely run. Thank you!!! read more

The auto service part of this station isn't what it used to be. This is just somebody's job to repair cars. I work in health care and have worked 7 days a week many hours a day since COVID started. Today on my way to work I got a flat tire and asked him if he could put a plug in so I can get to the hospital. He said he was busy but ok. By the time I got there it was 12:30 and he said I was late and he was too busy. He treated me like a child asking for a dime without a single bit of empathy that I work in healthcare and won't be able to get there unless he helped. Forget this place - clearly not concerned about how we are all part of a community helping one another. read more

Love this place. This is my new go to mechanic. Brought my Mazda 3 in because the transmission was acting funny. The wonderful mechanic discovered a fairly complicated sensor problem, and fixed it at reasonable cost. Very very satisfied. read more

Have purchased gas here almost exclusively since moving to the neighborhood earlier this year. Stopped by tonight because my tire pressure light came on and got quite a bit of attitude from the lady working because I asked for free air when I hadn't bought gas. Nope, I hadn't, this time, and you can be assured that I won't ever do so again. It's off to the Moeser Exxon for me. This Exxon used to be a branch of Chevron. At the beginning of 2017, this became an Exxon branch. I was advised by the current management it was less expensive to get gas from Exxon than Chevron. Other than the name change, this gas service station is still pretty much the same with food, coffee, and car service with other amenities. I needed air for my tires, and it's surprising how many gas stations have broken air pumps. This one worked! Bought gas, got free air for my tires, no issues at all. If you need air, I'd highly recommend going to this gas station. read more

Extremely rude attendant at night. I needed air and she said I should buy gas to use the pump (which I would have done). I am not young, and moving kind of slow, and it was hard to see the pressure in the dark. My low pressure warning light was on and I was trying to find which tire was leaking. She gave me a huge amount of attitude when I asked her to keep turning on the pump. As if it were costing her money! I live very close to the station but I will be driving out of my way to avoid this place. read more

The guy in charge (owner?) has no idea how to talk to ppl or treat a customer. I just wanted to talk to about some things about my smog situation before we started. My vehicle needed a jump start literally across the street from this establishment. I asked for assistance and they refused. I offered to pay and they wouldn't help, because they "were too busy". You could see my car from their garage... It was RIGHT. THERE. Their portable charger was right there in front of me. They wouldn't let me take it due to "insurance reasons". This has station seems to be consistently lower in gas prices compared to the gas stations in "the flats." Renee works a lot of weekends and is always friendly and helpful - what do I mean? She never charges for air and she painstakingly put up with me paying for Lotto tickets with nicles and dimes! read more
