This place has both good and bad qualities, I'll go over a few of both. 1st ( morning 7-3 ) shifts are amazing. Helpful well trained quality nurses ( Carolina one of the best I've ever had ) . Almost instant service after pressing the call light. Almost no requests denied. Almost like staying in a resort. But BEWARE of the next shift. The night shift ( 3pm till 1 am? ) horrible like a nightmare. Make sure you get everything you need from first shift ( food,water, meds, changed, etc ) because myself and many others could receive zero help of any kind from this shift. On many occasions I called for water or blankets and was completely ignored the entire shift. I even got stuck not being able to get off of a very low toilet for 4 hours with no one coming to help me even though I pulled the cord over and over. One late night frustrated and super thirsty, I got in my wheelchair and rolled around to find all the nurses out in the patio area all hitting their vapes and thc pens hard. Even the charge nurse at night would not wear uniform came in my room in camouflage clothing I couldn't even be sure he worked here. There was also a very young untrained nurse who let my catheter bag overfill and burst leaking urine all over the floor she put a towel on the floor demanding " This no problem, day towel soak up all de fluid ". Needless to say she refused to get anyone in charge to fix this I actually had to call 911 before anything professionally got done to rectify this situation. So just make ABSOLUTELY sure you get all of your needs from 1st morning shift, try to get through the night by yourself the best you can and you should be fine. I'm giving a 10 for morning shift, but a 1 for night shift thus 3 star review. Thanks for reading. read more

Nightmare! Dirty! After 12 hours I signed myself out. My room had a leaking toilet. They had no bedside camode to avoid having to walk through the wet pee pee floor. My call button didn't work. They said to call front desk if I needed to get up When I called the mailbox wasn't set up yet so NO assistance at all. I asked for a pillow for my head and when they brought one it was dirty. It had a tire track across it. When I left they refused to discharge me with my pain meds. They kept them! It was a horrible experience. read more

I was there for 2 weeks due to a fall which resulted in a broken hip. I was generally happy with the service provided. The only complaint that I have is that CNAs are over worked on the day shift. My CNA; Anna was very attentive but due to her patient workload she could not give me or my roommate the attention that was needed in a timely manner. read more

Everything, starting with a kitchen staff that can't read meal plans when prescribed by medical professionals. The site is old and the rooms are not well maintained. The front lobby is clean and seems to have been recently renovated. The RN's and room staff are great. Friendly, helpful people. Hopefully the management will do something to improve their kitchen staff before a resident is seriously hurt. This is not a place for a diabetic. The food I received there was starchy with sweets and sugar. Every meal included potatoes, pasta or rice, cake or ice cream along with fruit juice. No fresh fruit but there was canned. I was having blood sugars near or over 300 regularly. They kept telling me my sugars were high because of my recent surgery but I can't eat that kind of diet and control it with insulin. Add to that a Covid outbreak. I checked out AMA and came home. In 2019 my mother was a patient there! She continously got ESBL always getting antibotics. Oneday i recieved call in regards to change of condition! I had to tell them her diagnose! She needed a stool sample something so easy! They failed to collect the sample ! Within in few weeks she passed! Due to there neglect not collecting stool she died! The condition could of been reversed with just antibotic! Lack of communication between nurses, and cna's! read more

My grandmother came into the facility for a little over a month. From the time she came in the staff was great during such an overwhelming time. If you want your family member to be extremely neglected and probably die, take them here! They are TERRIBLE. All they do is sit around and gossip while your loved is probably waiting HOURS for someone to come to their room to give any kind of assistance. They don't even do the bare minimum and check up on your loved one. Terrible people with a huge lack of human decency. read more

Had a stroke , lost my right side ,physical therapy is excellent , some of the cna s are great and prompt like Brenda and the rest you have to wait 45 minutes when you use the call button if not longer , if it was not for Brenda and physical therapy I would give them one star. There are a few CNA,NURSES and LVNs that are fantastic but many are not. Place is not the cleanest and many of the patients are not properly cared for or ignored. Whether this is due to staff shortage or because some patients should be in a different type of facility (ex: alheismer care, etc) and the diets are not monitored for diabetics and food is AWFUL is an understatement read more

PLEASE DON'T LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES HERE. We recently received the news my grandfather has two different types of cancer and for the last 2 weeks he was admitted to Parkview hospital(riverside). January 20,2023 he was released from the hospital and sent to this post-acute center. not even 10 minutes of being here my grandfather did not feel comfortable being left alone. When you first walked in it smells like a dirty hamster cage. He was placed in a room with two other patients, the rooms were FILTHY. The hallway had trash on the floor and not to mention they had elderly people walking around half naked throughout the hallways. We had a nurse tell us "That is good you guys are taking him home. Find another place for ur loved one. I was influenced and chose this place for rehab for my mom. Since then she has not been taken care of the way she should. These reviews are accurate and I wish I had listened to them. Never will go back until they know what they are doing. Inexperienced, lack of care, no attention to details, clothes missing, horrible food, mismanaged staff, confusion in communication, etc. My mom has fallen out of bed under their care, gotten sick, hygiene issues. I'm tired of keeping on top of them to ensure my mom gets the care she needs. Most CNAs, show lack of care or can't be bothered. Minus 1 stars from me. read more

My dad was admitted to this facility on October 2nd 2024 referred by Corona Regional. I cannot understand how the reviews are poor, because my dad was treated so well at this facility. Mario seamlessly got my dad the best room next to the nurses' station in the front. ALL the nurses, therapists, and staff were 100% caring, attentive, and on top of EVERYTHING!!! Ater 2 weeks, my dad was sad to leave because he grew so fond of everyone!! He loved Bingo, chair dancing, Mexican Bingo, church services, and his wonderful roommate they placed him with, and the nutritionist that took such good care of him too! Both Mario and Adrianna were so sweet to check in on him during and after his time there. I hope that others in need are fortunate to have a similar experience to ours. read more

The place is clean which I feel is very important. I think in all jobs there's always those that shouldn't be working in that field but there's always the other good ones that outweigh the negatives. The food has improved over time which originally was not something I was able to eat. I've really liked the communication and care that the transportation teams have provided me with. The personal care has been great overtime as I've become stronger and even more independent with my medical progress. While I am satisfied with most things, as with everything there are things I feel need improvement on such as the call lights being attended to in a promptly manner. read more

My loved one was there one week. Unfortunately his care was poor. He stayed in a soiled adult diaper for 7 hours. After finding out, it still took another hour for him to get cleaned up. Then knowing he's a fall risk. Had him in a half rail bed. And fell out hitting his head. Then his table got knocked over spilling his water. That didn't get cleaned up until a few hours. Continuing to ask for help and nothing. I usually don't write bad reviews unless it's really bad. I pray that the facility will improve. But after his fall and knowing he will have to get physical therapy from his fall, brain surgery. We will NOT bring him there. He even asked please don't take me back there. I want to go back to CCRC. Which is amazing facility. We couldn't take him there last time. Due to insurance issues. So he really had no choice to go to River walk facility. Please consider another facility, until they start putting patients 1st. read more

I always believe that we accomplish more when we look at the bad first, some nurses talk too much and need to have a filter. Communication between everyone can be better too. I had a family member that was briefly admitted here for physical therapy and occupational therapy before returning home... as someone who is also a healthcare professional I truly appreciate how dedicated, considerate, and supportive the rehab department was. I also was so impressed by how attentive and responsive the social worker was. When I would stop by to speak with her she always knew the name of every patient that walked past us. This building is also huge it definitely has more than 100 beds to put things into perspective so idk how she was able to remember every person. The building itself was also very clean and never smelled like a typical nursing home which made me feel so relieved! read more

I've been here three weeks and I felt so at home. All the nurses and the staff are so helpful kind and polite and friendly. Podiatry cut my nails which was a plus. Everyone has a smile on all the time. Everyone works hard like the nurses and staff and the housekeeping keeps everything very clean, they work fast to clean up any and all messes like the rooms, bathrooms, and clothes. They celebrated Easter and hosted an egg hunt and it made me so happy and I enjoyed myself and most places don't go out of their way to do that. The relationships I've built here even with other patients has impacted my life so much in a positive way. The nurses come quickly to the call lights when needing help. The food is good but my only feedback would be it could be bigger portions however this is the first time my blood sugar and blood pressure has been normal and ive been at my healthiest thanks to the dietary time controlling the sugar and salt in the food. read more

Worst experience I have ever had. I tried call everyone for 3 days because my mother in law was not being give the proper treatment she needed after a total knee replacement surgery. Most nurses where very rude and not to mention the DON she was very rude and aggressive. She started to yell at me. My mother in law came in with some medication prescribed by her surgeon. Which one of them was no where to be found. This medication was an opioid coincidentally was the only one not to be found. Apparently she could not have it there and they took it instead of asking her to call a relative to pick them up. She was not getting proper physical therapy, her medication was not given to her right the DON accused her of lying. I saw the type of "physical therapy " she was receiving and it was not it. They made a big deal of me wanting to take her out of there against medical advice. I never saw a doctor on site. DON was making up stories. Over all the worst place to take a loved one there. They are being paid for nothing all incompetent. read more

My father was sent to this facility at the end of last year for PT that he never got. My father is a big guy (6'4" & 300 lbs.) and I was told that the PT was not comfortable walking him by himself, so he could only do it if there were 2 of them with him. My dad was there for approximately 3 months and they only got him up once. When he was sent there, he was able to transfer himself from the wheelchair to the car chair, but now he is bedbound. He is currently at another SNF with an IN-HOUSE PT team. His condition significantly decreased under their care. This place needs to be shut down. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. The night nurses at Riverwalk Acute facility walk around 2 with out masks and they neglect patients. It took 1 1/2 hours to get a glass of water. They withhold medication and are mean to the patients and take pleasure in it. Do not send any of your loved ones there ! Nothing but good things to say about this center. Nurses are A+ and super responsive to needs. Beautiful location - clean and well kept.

So it's 4:30 am and the CNA Katherine has left my roommates bed half make and her gown totally soiled. She even said that the resident called her out of her name and then proceeded to tell the charge nurse that the resident is a Flippin bword( don't wanna use the explicit language that she actually used). And no one else heard the resident call her any names at all....these employees seem to be so unprofessional. I'm just glad I don't need that much assistance around here!!!! read more

Horrible experience having my family member stay here for 30 days. RN changed sterile dressing without using sterile technique and when family questioned RN ignored family. Another RN (Sonya) placed betadine on resident's skin with iodine allergy and didn't wipe off when family requested. Dr Sahay didn't call family when he said he would, my family member is in ICU/stepdown bc doctor failed to monitor meds and labs. Majority of staff did not use proper PPE for contact precautions which put all residents at risk. Incompetent staff and unsafe environment. read more

My mother had a male nurse has walked in on her at the bathroom. He knocked and did not enter, but then after sometime decided to enter and did not announce his entrance or a heads up before opening the door. There's a sign on the door for "In Use" so obviously there's a protocol for this, maybe knock and announce entrance to allow someone privacy. When my mom brought this issue up she was told she should've used some other showers that she was never told about. Hope this experience gets better. This place can be hazardous to your loved ones health. I wish I would have known this before my husband was taken here post Covid. He needed physical therapy, he had some help, but not what he should have received after being confined to bed for a month. No visitors allowed, which was terrible. People running through the halls during all hours of the night, coming into his room, and scaring the patients. Warm tuna sandwiches, half a piece of French toast, and burnt sausage. This is what you get at the Riverwalk. Oh, and if you need to go to the bathroom, and you need help, you won't get it if you push your button for assistance. Edna the case worker and Anna went out of their way to assist the patients, among with Brenda and Raul. But definitely not a place you want to send your people! read more

Horrible experience we encountered today. Came to visit our dad today and found him on the floor. The patients here are ignored by medical staff. We ask his cna if he hasn't checked on my dad and he was super aggressive & rude he got in my face . I don't know how this place allows people to work like this here so unprofessional I asked him for his name and he declined to give me his name he didn't even have a work badge on! I asked another employee for his name it's Jesse he a cna her super disrespectful and aggressive behavior if he acts like this with family I can only imagine how he treats the residents ! The patients here are usually ignored by medical staff. it was hard for me to get an answer to my questions.. There was no coordination between medical staff (whom never were present and hard to hunt down) and regular staff. The few good caring people there are far out numbered by the uncaring. People at the top level of this joint are scarce and always "at a meeting" when you're trying to understand what's going on with your loved one. No one pays attention to the patient buzzer. you will lay in a soiled bed for hours upon hours. The food is mostly not all the time served Cold. If you have the missfortution to be in this facility; the only immediately help you get and honest answers are from the Visitor log monitor; Her name is Vitoria O. she will actually leave her post to get help for a patient who is being ignored by the patient buzzer. She also will hunt down the elusive nurse and get the answers you are looking for. ( Vitoria O gets 5 stars, she's an angle) . In General this place leaves much to be disired. read more

I'm not sure why all the negative reviews. Anyone who has spent any time at this facility would disagree with any of these past reviews. After being a patient here for just about a month, I cannot recall any situation, that would be considered as a negativ, in or at this facility. The Staff are truly AMAZING!! They are very active involved in the recovery of my illness. From the Meals through Continuation of my Care and into the Physical Therapy, I cannot say that I have found any one situation that would make me question this facility or it's staff, they are superb, kind, and very patient. Having worked for many 4 star hotels and resorts in my career, and being a qualified, professional quality assurance specialist, primarily focused on customer service, I think this place hits the highest of Marks. I'm grateful that I know that when and if I should ever have to place a relative or myself (again) into a skilled nursing facility, that I know where to go. read more

Out of all the things I can say about Riverwalk I think the best summation would be that the staff actually care. We had two main CNA's, Angela and Violeta, and they basically never left my grandma's side. They were passionate about giving care, always came when she rang the call light, and most of all treated my gma like she was their family. I wouldn't mind bringing her back as long as those two are here to take care of her. read more

Ok, it's taken me a few months to sit down and write a review cause I've been fuming and very pi**ed off, so I had to get to a calm state of mind before I wrote this review. I'm not gonna get into details cause it would take forever, but my dad was there for around 5 years, give or take. During that time, there were issues that arose, but nothing serious.........until covid. One of the workers there infected him and we lost him a few weeks later. Now my dad was not a picture of health and I'm not gonna come down on the worker that infected him cause I'm sure it wasn't deliberate. But the way they handled it afterwards is disgusting! We got 1 call when he was exposed, 1 call 2 weeks later to let us know he was infected and zero, ZERO fu**ing calls after he passed away. ZERO!!! Not my mom, not my sister, my brother, or me! Hell they didn't even know he had passed away! It's just heartbreaking that we couldn't even give him a proper goodbye and meanwhile I'm sure they were just worried about filling his bed with another body. We didn't even go back to get his belongings cause we were so upset! At the end of the day, it's all about the $$$! Stay far away from this place! Disgusting! Just fu**ing disgusting! read more
