I have, rather, an experience (or lack thereof) as I have been looking to switch Vets for a while and have called this office several times over the last 4 years to secure an appt and each time I've called, they always tell me they "aren't accepting new patients". My family has been with our other Vet practice since 1980 and their new management is ok, but not what it used to be. They're very capable, but I want excellence for my furbaby. I have a small, healthy dog who's newly become a senior and wanted to have an annual evaluation and I've never been able to secure an appointment. It always bums me out because I've such amazing things from my community about this office and the quality of care they offer their patients. I guess I'll try again in another 6 months...if anyone from this office finds an opening for a new patient, ℯℯ reach out:)

We had an appointment that should have been cancelled but wasn't, waste of a day off for me. Six months later we missed an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances and were charged $100 for that missed appointment. Reaching out to the office manager was a waste of time and it was an unpleasant experience emailing and talking with Kristi Johnson. Management did reach out to let me know that I can find a new vet if I disagree with the charge.

The review that says otherwise is astonishing..Dr. Fauser has never raised his voice to anyone, not in the almost 35 years I've been there. My dog developed heart worm, and they worked diligently to save her life..which they did. In these years, we've had 6 cats and 1 dog. Each has been carefully and gently cared for, and when news was bad, or the time had come, they mourned with me. I won't go anywhere else...there are no extraneous tests or procedures done here. Everything is for the good of your pet, but with a dose of common sense as well. The staff and Dr. Fauser are an extension of your pets family, and that is how you and your pet are always treated. We've been going to Holt Vet Clinic for about six years now and have been quite happy with them…read more Most of our pets' needs are pretty conventional -- vaccines, heartworm meds, etc., -- but about two years ago, our beloved Maltese became very ill. Dr. Rees was very helpful in trying to help us find a diagnosis. Unfortunately, we didn't find one until Macy began having seizures, at which point she needed specialized care at MSU. (She turned out to have a very rare and difficult-to-diagnose disease called GME.) We ended up working with a neurologist in Boston, and Dr. Rees was always very willing to work with him and with our vet at MSU to make Macy's treatment as convenient for us as possible.

The office staff are friendly and helpful, the vets are wonderful, and they seem very caring and professional. Some people complain that they want "too many tests," but most of the ones I've seen recommended for my own pets are what is considered best practice, per friends in the veterinary field. They always err on the side of caution. I appreciate that... I would rather know that we have covered all our bases than save a couple of bucks. Speaking of, I've also heard some people complain that they are too expensive. I think they are slightly pricier than other clinics in the area, but not massively so. I also feel like they provide a very high standard of care, and to me that is worth it.
