Plus, you get a warm fuzzy feeling from not having to buy or collect cardboard boxes for weeks and then throw them in a dumpster when you finally unpack. In a public area, they chose to play their muscis which was full of racial slurs, cuss words and flat out, bad taste on full blast at both locations. They broke an item of mine and lend me to believe they would be fired if I made a claim. Then during the unloading stage, they were coming at me so fast and ignoring the labeling on the boxes, it became chaotic. I just wanted it done. Then oddly, they asked me to step out and look at the back of the truck to verify that everything was unloaded. Yeah, I had a weird feeling and knew something was up. I was 61 and handicapped so I just wanted them gone. And yes, they asked for a tip. Looked things over since I had to redo the mess they left me and realized they had stolen a TV set and some collectibles. Called the Columbus location and they offered to send them back out to properly place the boxes in the correct rooms and stack them. First I agreed then got smart and called back and said, "He'll no". CROOKS, LIARS, THIEVES They deserve a negative rating not a one star.

*Read all emails sent to you very carefully for the breakdown of charges*…read more If they use any packing material, you pay for the entire item no matter how much they use. Example, tape is listed at $5 but you will pay for the entire pack of 6 for $30. Bubble wrap, $50 for the entire roll even if they only use 1/2. "Travel Time" of 1hr is charged for their time to start the job and then to drive back to the lot. That is not for driving between your load/unload locations. Ended up $165 over my estimate ($500) even tho I verbally attempted to confirm as much as I could before. Your final confirmation email will be your best source of information to get a much better estimate than what they give you over the phone. Add it up carefully.

The representative said they would contact the crew and that the movers would arrive within 20 minutes. Another hour passed--still nothing. We kept calling because they never called us back, and every time we called, we were told a different story. One moment the crew was "on the way," the next they "couldn't reach them," then suddenly our schedule had been changed without informing us. It was excuse after excuse. On another call, they said the driver would reach out to us directly. Another hour passed with no call. At 3:47 PM, we were told yet again that we were scheduled for the afternoon--but they never bothered to notify us at any point. We were always the ones chasing them. On our last call, we asked to speak to a manager and even confirmed if a manager was available. They said yes and attempted to transfer us, but instead they left us on hold for 30 minutes, and no one ever came on the line. They wasted our entire day and completely ruined our schedule, especially because we have major renovations starting and needed everything moved before the crew arrived tomorrow. I will never do business with this company again. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and totally disrespectful of people's time. If you come across this company, run as fast as you can.

Units are not the size advertised. I called first to request info on sizing. Was told by the…read moreperson I spoke to that the units ARE actually the size listed (as I've used others before that definitely fudge the numbers). Went with a 20' as I needed about 19' total length for the items I wanted to store. Turned out to be even less than 19'. Left a review and the manager called me, where I reminded them I knew exactly how much space I needed, hence asking about true sizing before choosing them. Was offered to move to a larger unit, but for a higher price. After some pushback on my end they did eventually move me to a larger one for a lower price than listed but only for a couple months. So, in total that pricing only works out the same provided I move out of the new unit in March. **That said, after agreeing to modified price, manager pressured me to change my 3 star review. I'm amending this review to one star based on my last interaction. I gave notice of vacating the unit, and then was charged more than usual for my last month. I asked why and I'm being told that I'm just now paying for the insurance that I elected to have. Which meant I thought my things were insured the whole time, but they weren't. Desk agent tried to tell me it's because I SAID I didn't want it, despite signing paperwork approving it. Then continually cut me off when trying to clarify his statement that I was not storing things that should have been covered by the insurance.

It is cleaner, cheaper and most important, there are carts in each unit. If you have a climate controlled, inside unit card access is the most important thing. Depending on the size and location, either 1 or 2 carts are always available. At Public Storage there were almost never carts. The last time we went through all 9 buildings at Public Storage to finally find 1 cart. Transferred our last items out of there and moved to Cardinal this weekend. What was funny was that there were 2 other people doing the exact same thing, transferring their storage to Cardinal. I worked with Tammy both times and she was great. Highly recommended.

I have had 2 storage units at this place since 2018, and overall was fairly happy until lately…read more Lately, if I'm going to be late, I keep in touch...yet not only do I get charged late fees (totally understandable) BUT today also received a "certified letter fee" of almost $10 AFTER I'd called, made a "good faith payment" and a promise to pay all that I was in arrears by a specified date. They did NOT have to ding me that additional $10, which doesn't sound like a lot, but when they charge not one...but TWO late fees + their monthly payments are pretty steep for where they're located...it's not only gouging their customers but lacking any real regard for them. For MONTHS last year my garage door was broken - I couldn't have gotten access if I'd needed to - I received no rebates or discounts for those many months, yet if I'm late, I'm charged out the wazoo. I've been a solid paying customer for years, but I'm very disappointed with this place right now.

They do not hold up their end of the contract. If you are late they charge a late fee, ok completely understandable. But they do not feel required to immediately unlock the unit when you have paid. They will wait days, giving the excuse they have 700 units and can't keep up with them all thus NOT withholding their end of the contract. Twice I have went to my paid unit and was not able to access it on a weekend when no one was in the office to help me. This year they had a huge theft of dozens of units, of course stating not their fault. This is in a unsavory part of town and the customer service is very poor and your belongings are NOT safe there.
