They are supposed to send a quote prior to working, but did work without permission. My latest bill is over 7,000 for brakes, batteries and oil change. I called when I got invoice and told them not to do anything that I would pick the truck up, but was told they already did the easy stuff! So I paid almost $600 for an oil change and an inspections, ridiculous! Especially when I didn't okay the oil change and I specifically stated, as always, I want a quote and will respond with what needs done. Furthermore, they were saying that the truck is hard to start because of bad batteries, however, the truck has always easily started prior to taking it there! So, how is it all of sudden hard to start! Also, they try and get you to okay the quote for work that is not needed at the time even when you stress to them that you can't afford it! If you have an unlimited budget, this is a great garage, they definitely know what they are doing. However, if you are a small business trying to get by, this is not the place. Even their parts are way overpriced! Turns out, I did not need batteries, the truck is still starting fine. I also did not need everything replaced as far as the brakes go, 4 of the 8 calipers were working. Anyway, I got everything I needed done for $2100 instead of $7000 at another garage! Giving 2 stars instead of one because of their knowledge of fuso trucks.

They even called me the day before my reservation to confirm the time that I would be coming, which made me worry less about a truck not actually being there (something that has happened to me at two other truck-rental businesses). My only, small complaint is that the truck was marked as having a full tank of gas when it turned out not to. When I refilled the tank at the end of my trip, I definitely replaced the gas that I used and then some. It wasn't so much money that it was worth disputing -- and I should've been more thorough myself when checking that paperwork -- but I recommend double-checking the fuel gauge when you get in the cab at first.

I've rented trucks from Home Depot (which has also been fantastic service), but I needed a higher ceiling for a table I was moving. Tries finding another one for me while i was on hold for 10 minutes and says he's not having any luck and that it appears to be Columbus wide. Right. He also stated he thought my oneway trip was out of state, it was not. I reserved two weeks prior. He wanted to give me an Amazon type van instead of the 16 footer I reserved and needed for my move. Nope! Needless to say the friends I had helping me were idle for an hour or so until I was able to get a good old UHaul truck in record time. Never again Penske.

I called the uhaul office and after putting me on hold for ten minutes they told me that they had known about the broken door and rented me the van anyways (because fuck me, I guess). The couch I was purchasing on craigslist wouldn't rotate through the side door and wouldn't fit through the back with only one door functional, so I couldn't buy it, basically rented the van for nothing. Was this a typical experience? Probably not. Should I have been more careful checking everything before I left? Probably yes. But I wasted ~$50 plus gas renting a van for no reason, because of a problem the office knew about and didn't bother mentioning.

Everything else was fine, but this is something I do not want other customers to face. Management should have been consulted to help find a solution, not leave someone to figure it out themselves.
