Sean, the on-site manager, was extremely helpful and answered all my questions before I even came in to look at the facility. The place is very clean and well kept, which was important to me since I needed a safe unit for furniture from my late grandmother. I ended up choosing a 10x15 climate controlled unit and have been happy with both the quality of the facility and service. Everything is top notch. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the frequent price increases. They do "market adjustments" pretty often, so this isn't the cheapest storage option out there. That said, if you value cleanliness and excellent customer service, you'd be hard pressed to find a better spot. read more

I was a customer at this facility for approx a year and had great service from the manager Sean. He really is a nice guy and is as accommodating as possible. The facility always looked kept up and anytime I phoned, the service I received from Sean was top notch. Caution. You will have increased rates every 3 months. You can ask for discounts but eventually your low rental unit will turn into a big bill. Lots of abandoned units and regular auctions for those of you into storage wars. But hey that's one way to get rid of your unwanted stuff. read more

The units are super secure, clean and temperature controlled, which means my storage items came out in the same condition they went in. the manager on the desk is also super friendly and helpful. Only downside was a rent increase a few months after I moved in, which I never received a notice for. Just saw the extra going from my account. This place gets two stars for one very simple reason...cost over time. I have a 10X15 climate controlled unit that goes for $210 on their website. Quietly, and without notice, they have increased my rate to $392/month over time. The account section on their website does NOT allow you to view your rental contract, and the only way to contact them is by phone, so none of your communications are in a recorded medium. I would happily keep my unit if these borderline fraudulent practices weren't occurring, but they are and I'm sick of it. read more

We have been customers for several years and went through a couple price increases which understand. I just got a notice that our monthly fee will go up almost 60 dollars from 85 to 145.00 dollars. I can under stand a small increase but almost 80 percent is outrageous. Stay away from this business, they will raise price out of the blue and say well it's because there is limited availability. If you think charging $240 a month of a 10x10 box of storage isn't criminal then maybe this is a good place for you. Will probably end up giving most of my stuff away and selling the rest. Will save almost $3000 a year. Unless you have some ridiculously expensive items you can't store anywhere else I really recommend staying away from storage places so they are forced to lower prices. If you do the math with how many storage containers they have, they have 0 right to be charging this much. Vile exploitative property business as usual. read more

I rented a storage unit when it was CubeSmart in May 2021. I was paying $54 a month for a 5 x 5 unit. The month extra space storage took over, (August 2021?) they increased my monthly rent to $79 a month. I received a notice that the rent would be increasing in January to $149 a month for a 5 x 5 unit. I was ready to move my belongings after I spoke with a different facility who had told me rents should only have nominal increases yearly. I went back to extra space to close my unit and they did without any question cancel my recurring payments. I decided to call extra space just to ask if that was normal for such a big increase in rent just five months after my last increase, they explained it's market valued but they agreed to lower the increase and only charge $90 a month. A few weeks ago I received a letter that the doors of the units were being changed. I didn't want the expensive lock I purchased to be cut off so I bought a cheaper one as a temporary that they could cut off the unit. When I went to the office to ask them about the door replacement they said the locks would not be cut off, that the company had a way to open them so I left my good one in the unit. Last week I went to my unit to put some items into it and once I got up to the unit the lock had been changed out. So I had to take everything back to my car and go to the office to get the key but when I got to the office they were closed for lunch until 2:15pm. I received an email 3 days AFTER I was there saying the locks had been removed and changed to more secure types. That seems to me the company also has access to my belongings which I am not comfortable with. Communication of this sort should be being done before changes are made, not after. I called today at 2:35pm to make sure that they were open and was told they wouldn't be back for another 25 minutes and it's not good to come between 1:30-3pm. I only had 30 min to try and get over there and since last week they were back at 2:15 I would expect it to be the same lunchtime closure this week too. It's extremely frustrating to have limited time to get things handled and to work with a company who is so inconsistent. I'll be closing my unit and moving to a better location after this month. read more

If I could give them a 0 I would. I have been with this storage facility since it was newly opened. ALWAYS paid on time. Soon after Extra Space purchased this Storage facility they increase my rent by a whopping 82%! This was because it was "worth more". So much for customer loyalty. read more

I was initially very happy with my choice of using a unit with Extra Space until I got a letter about increases. I've had the unit for 3 months and it is now up $70 from what we agreed on. I understand increases happen but by $70 dollars? Really? Then I hear this can happen every 3 to 9 months? What a rip off! So much for the kind military discount they gave us. First of all the facility is nice for a storage place. However the rate change is completely bonkers. I seen their reply here saying the increase is a fair market amount ... research alternatives. Far from it. The previous company that ran this place When it was cube smart in April 2021 I paid $84 a month for a 5x10. In September it went up to $103 shortly before the companies changed. Earlier this month we got a notice of the rent for the same space going up to $162. This is exactly a 92.8571% increase. Fair market value? Nah that is completely false or they are looking at a completely different market other than Sacramento county. They also "upgraded" the locking mechanisms. To be fair they do look more secure. HOWEVER they did not tell us they were removing our own locks. There was big drama with emails announcing they will be cutting peoples locks. They said they wouldn't and as of tonight I don't know if they did because there was a completely different lock in place and I had no access to my property. I will find out if they cut the lock or not tomorrow as they said they were not going to, when I wasted my time trying to vacate my space tonight and have to make a special trip in the morning to see if I can get access. No the "Fair market" is not a 92% + increase. I am already partially in another space. They did seem to go to a lot of expense dumping money into frivilous things like painting doors chromakey green to match their logo .... which not a single customer gives a damn about. Looks like they threw out good sturdy wood and metal carts for plastic ones. Not only would I not rent from this company again ... I would dump any stock if I had any. The change over is a disaster ... unless they get lucky and get some transplants from the bay area that don't shop around for storage places I don't see this place lasting. 92% increase in the last year ... they have no clue what they are doing. read more
