Facility is nice and secure. But had a 5'X10' for a year, price increased 3 times during that time. Downsized to a smaller 5X5', price has already doubled in a few months. I have zero doubt the price will increase again within the year. I will have to change to a less expensive unit as I still have a need for storage. It is ridiculous to price out people that are already in the building paying rent, you have constant turnover at the cheaper, web based rates along with units sitting empty. You would make more money keeping people in at reasonable rates. read more

This place is ok for short term, unfortunately we rented a unit for 2 years. In that time, we saw the price increase significantly which drove us to look for a home quicker. Never interacted with the staff much. What was kind of crappy is the amount of rent, but you can't you use the bathrooms "not for public use". However, when you're paying almost $300 for a secure unit, that's considered private. read more

There was a disingenuous response to my review as this woman was asking me to contact them in regards to the unreasonable rate increase. If they were are really honest about this and were sorry about raising my monthly rent more than double, they would have contacted me through my email or would have directly called with an apology since they have my contact information. Lovely indoor storage units with easy access and super clean. I felt completely comfortable storing my belongings here (6 months total). The price did rise while I was there but I was forewarned by friends that this is typical - so just FYI. The area felt safe and I didn't have any issues accessing my belongings when needed. My friends that were helping me move commented on how nice the facility was as well. Easy move out process! read more

My storage rates were skyrocketing at my other 2 places and i had enough!! I came across extra space storage online and found their web special prices the best in town. I had a long conversation with Ryan who was very helpful and i signed for a year pre paid at a locked in price. I moved both units into one at extra space and never looked back !! My original review and recommendation NOT to rent here has not changed. This place is terribly greedy. Raised my rate significantly after only 2 months of renting. The new rate is ridiculous and I never would have rented if I knew they'd raise it that much. Secondly... They charge a 20% late fee if you're even a day late... no grace period. I had an issue with my paycheck being mailed instead of given to me so I am a day late and they are charging me almost $60 in late fees along with almost $300 a month for the space. Unbelievable. No company I know of charges that much for a late fee. Greedy company. They really offer nothing special.. got no promotions upon move in... nothing. All the other companies offer promotions or first month free... not this place. I absolutely regret storing my things here. Never will rent from extra space again. Money hungry and offer the worst service. read more

First off everything about it is professional! Jessica was really friendly and helpful. Answered all my questions and also walked me through everything. She was very patient and the storage units are very spacious and clean! When I first got here I had no idea what size I needed and when I gave her an idea of what I had she recommended the perfect storage unit for my stuff! Very happy with our decision to choose this place. It was the best deal in Gilbert. We pay $100/mo (including insurance) for a 10'x10' room with very high ceiling. Only suggestion is that they get more carts since they usually only have 2 in the front and 2 in the back. 1/2 the time I need to hunt for a cart. This place is very clean and AIR CONDITIONED. Getting a space here was so easy. Todd was friendly and helpful, providing excellent customer service. The facility is very clean and well kept. The reason for the lower star rating is that we showed up yesterday with a truckload of stuff and there were no carts available practically the whole time we were there. It was so frustrating and we had to make many more trips than needed in the heat!! I realize Saturdays are certainly their busiest days, but it seems that should be anticipated. There was a nice girl there who triggered the doors to stay open, so that helped. read more

The ExtraSpace facility on Baseline Rd. in Gilbert is exceptionally clean, well lighted and in great condition. They have lights that come on as you walk down aisles, as well as pipe in music to make the task of packing/unpacking more tolerable (mostly classic rock). They have several security measures ranging from code entry to cameras and locks, and alarms/notifications that alert office staff if an entry code does not match a unit accessed. The manager, Todd, is very responsive, helpful, organized and accessible. There are two entry doors that can be widened if you contact the office. There isn't a lot of parking at this lot for big trucks moving in and out so I would avoid major unloading/loading on weekends if possible. But all things considered, this is a minor issue compared to the overall clean, secure and CLIMATE CONTROLLED facility on Baseline Rd. in Gilbert. They offer many size selections, and you can get a better rate if you are willing to take a second floor unit. Also, right now they have web specials and a first month free deal, which is awesome! You can buy boxes, mattress covers and door locks on-site. This location offers unit access from 6am - 10pm, with office hours from 9:30am to 6pm M-F, 9am - 5:30pm Saturday. They require that you obtain insurance, but the cheapest package is just $10/mo for $2k of coverage. (While not recommended, you can use your own homeowner's insurance if it has specific types of coverage and provide proof of required coverage, but I cannot recall the details there). Tip: reserve online for added web special savings. Also, they have a referral program where if you refer someone who rents a unit you can get $50 off your own unit. Only suggestion I have is to add more carts, usually at the main entrance there are max of 3, and often times more than one will be in use by a single person unloading/loading. read more
