I moved out of my storage unit because I couldn't afford the $280 a month fee. It seems awfully high even though I moved out on the eighth of the month and left the unit beautiful and clean I get no. Refund, so they have the option to go ahead and rent it again, but I don't get any money back for moving out on the eighth. Doesn't seem fair to me. read more

Extra space Storage has increased rates several times at this property. The keypad at the East drive in door is not working, the rear drive in door is broken and not working, The lights in my unit have not been working for 3 years, I bring a portable plug in light. The saving grace for this location is the office staff who go out of their way to be helpful but their hands are tied. Another customer told me the current owner is trying to sell and doesn't want to do the repairs (unable to verify) Very disappointing and very inconvenient for customers. read more

What a terrible business. We had our RV stored there for 3 months. Today, I got a notice they were doubling our monthly rent. Goodbye scammers. Your terrible price gouging business practices where you jack up rates shortly after move in will eventually catch up to you. I won't support a business that is only in it to gouge their customers. I have been a customer here since 2010 and I would recommend this place to everyone! One day they called me and told me my unit wasn't locked after I had been there earlier. It made me realize how safe and secure my belongings are and that they actually do rounds to make sure your units are safe. It is very clean, the staff are very friendly and it's very easy to get in and out of. I would have given this 5 stars but the only reason I didn't is because their rates are a little high and they have raised their prices twice in the last couple of years. Recently Extra Space added bird netting to protect the RVs stored there. It required hours of contacting and moving RVs as the installation was accomplished. Not a good experience rented the biggest in door storage unit to store the boat. In the ceiling there were some critters of some sort living that were pooping on the vessel. we brought it to the attention of the manager that tried to tell us it was the wind making this happen. she refused to do anything about the situation. said we must have left the door open that was causing this to happen. Moved out a week before the rent was due again and refused to issue a refund. read more

This particular storage facility used to be privately owned. About 2 and a half years ago they were bought by extra space and it's been nothing but price increases every couple of months since. The staff is great, some of whom have been there since before the buyout and the facilities are very nice, the ability to load and unload indoors in Phoenix is great. I did notice that extra space did tweak a few things to cut costs, like increasing the temperature slightly and cutting the timers for the motion sensor lights to shorter durations but the biggest change, like I said was the price. When I initially purchased storage at this location I had a 10x10 and a 10x20 upstairs and after moving into my new house I was able to get everything into a 10x15 downstairs. It was more expensive to rent a 10x15 downstairs than a 10x20 upstairs so that was already frustrating at almost $200 I knew it was too much but I didn't want to move all of my things to another location. Fast forward a year and I get a letter saying they are increasing me all the way to $292 for a single 10x15 unit! There's about 15 new storage facilities opening a within 2 miles of my home so I went to another one with an indoor loading and unloading and their price is $92 for a downstairs 10x15 unit. A third of the cost!The U-Haul rental was $75 after mileage and now I'm saving $200 a month. The only thing I regret is not moving out sooner, especially since they won't prorate your move out time I paid for 29 days of storage on an empty unit. Terrible read more

what a beautiful facility. I recently rented from another extra space storage in California and the service there was great. I start a new job in which my boss needed to get me a storage unit for our business needs and I recommended extra space storage. She approved and tasked me with finding a facility. The first facility I went to could not accommodate our needs but the manager at that location was extremely helpful and guiding me to the Goodyear location because she thought they could accommodate my needs. Indeed they could and Alice was there to help me and my boss with all our needs and get us set up. She had exactly the type of unit I needed, and it was on the first floor on the inside, which is great so I could store my stuff, load and come and go inside the temperature controlled facility. Alice was great. She showed us our unit, programmed, Our combo lock, & gave me the access code I wanted. She went above and beyond. Great job. Thank you so much for all your help. Absolutely terrible. They start you out with a low teaser rate then out of nowhere they jack my rates up about 35% about 3-6 months in. Keep reading the reviews, they have been doing the same to other people recently. They are counting on the fact that once you move your belongings in to a unit that it will be too much of a hassle to rent a truck and move all of your things out. Stay away from them and do business with other companies willing to work with clients in good faith. read more

If I could leave a negative star for Extra Space Storage, I would! We have been with this storage facility through 2 major moves in the past 5 years! We started our lease at $196 per month. Less than 6 months pass and Extra Space took over and they changed it to $235. 2 months later (last month) $245. I cringed when I paid it! Now- a month later- I get a notice that it's changing to $306!!! How can this be legal? I hope Extra Space goes bankrupt! It's TERRIBLE‼‼ read more

Do not rent here. I've only been there for four months and they continue to hit us with lie after lie. First they offer us a move in special which at the time when we're signing up they 'can't honor' because it doesn't qualify to us. When we were initially brought in with that specific offer for our specific unit. Then they finessed us into buying the insurance As it was never presented as an option. And finally after being told we don't have to worry about a rate increase in the first year, voila, a significant rate increase in the first four months. make sure if you decide to do business with this place you read your contract thoroughly cuz they'll tell you what you want to hear to get you to sign up and then change it on you and reference the contract.
