Awesome from the first reservation online to the eventuality of moving storage spaces! Richelle was first to contact me a day after a made the online reservation. Very informative and non pressuring. I made my initial move in date and unfortunately couldn't move out of my previous unit. Richelle contacted me that day and understood the struggles, which then turned into a month long debacle. Richelle kept in contact not only for the business aspect, but a personal check in to make sure my needs were being met professionally. Finally the moving day started on a hot end of July Friday. I walked in completely forgetting to call the office to let them know I still needed storage!! Richelle remembered my voice and immediately pulled up my reservation, got me into the unit at my online price! Awesome service and even brought me water while I was unloading! This review is very overdue. After what happened today I said, that's it! How many more incredible acts of service do they have to do before I thank them publicly? Here's what they did today: My phone rang and Extra Space Storage was on the caller id. Now, typically people cringe or are alarmed when they get a call from their storage unit. The initial thought you may have (not me because they've always done right by me) is of dread. Yolanda phoned to let me know that I locked my unit incorrectly and as a result it is not completely secure. I was floored. I'm sure my jaw dropped. Radio silence. I thought to myself, who does this in 2022? Extra Space Storage in Hemet on Sanderson, that's who. I can't say they are the cheapest around. I can say that they provide exemplary, beyond the call of duty service. Call Richelle and Yolanda today and you'll know what I mean. I HIGHLY encourage you to contact them. You'll be glad you did. They don't treat you like a unit #. They follow the Golden Rule and treat you the way they would want to be treated. read more

I needed a secure place for my belongings and was moving from a different storage place due to my unit being broken into twice. All I have to say is DO NOT bring you belongings here, his place is INFESTED with rats. Not Only did we take out our stuff from the storage unit but we took the rats home too! Worst part is management did not seem to care when I called and informed them!! NEVER EVER AGAIN!! read more

Had this storage for 30days. It was very convenient as it was close to where we were moving from & moving to. Only advice to anyone would be to make sure when you make your last payment be sure they dont take extra a few days later! This location is great!!! I recently moved back to Cali from Atlanta after 4 years and everything in my storage unit was in top shape like I never left! Of course there was a little dust and my clothes smelled like the boxes, but my furniture was in excellent condition. The facility was very clean and the staff was helpful and friendly. I had a climate controlled unit and it was more than enough space for my items, nothing was damaged after 4 years, very impressive. Talk about outstanding customer service. First I called Mike and told him about my plans to store my household goods, Mike helped me pick the best storage space for my items. He followed up with me the next day to make sure I was able to reserve everything properly online. The following day Karen called to check in and to make sure we were still doing ok with moving. I have had the unfortunate experience of having to take over my uncle's affairs due to him being blind. When I went to extra space storage I was told the unit could not be placed in his name even though I had power of attorney. I also had to pay a higher rate because they would not honor his senior citizen status. They also only recognize active military. I later received a call from management that they should have honored the POA (power of attorney). I was told it could be done over the phone if I faxed over the POA. Of course that was a lie. I received a call from Samantha that I had to come in to the Hemet facility. I live in Orange County, have two small children, and a full time job, so this would be no small trek. I made the trek only to be told they will not honor the POA because it was signed by two witnesses and not notarized, even though California law recognizes two witnesses the same as a notary. Then the story changed again that because his ID was expired they could not make the change. I left. They called again now with a new story that they need to send the POA to their legal department. And I'll get to come in again if it's approved...lucky me! Samantha was super rude but honey was like her name, sweet and polite. If you're looking for a storage place I bet you can find one with a lot less runaround and one that respects your time and money as opposed to sending you driving around with no regard for your time/money. read more

We have used storage units in the past to store extra stuff, but this facility raises the bar! Very easy to work with.

I've been storing stuff at this facility for 5 years and rather than having any kind of customer loyalty incentives they continuously up my rent approx. every 5-6mo. Had my wife call and price the units the same unit I'm currently being charged $180+/mo for is being rented for $129/mo. Then she questioned how often they will increase the rent fee and she was told within 4-5 months of your move-in and then once a year after that. When I question the how often they up the fees I was told it's only once a year yet I have proof they do it much more frequently. Just beware once you move your stuff in here they got you because they know what a pain it is to be moving all your things to another storage unit. Also had a family emergency that kept me from getting in to pay my rent on time and they still charged me a $25 late fee rather than any sympathy for what my family was going through. Keep in mind that not only do I have my unit but in my immediate family we rent 3 units here. We will be moving all of our units elsewhere...thanks Extra Space Storage for showing just how much a loyal customer means to you! read more
