We were customers of this location when it was CubeSmart. Unfortunately, we were not told about it…read morebeing sold to Public Storage but from day 1 of becoming Public Storage, it has been more than difficult to deal with customer service. I called the front desk when the side gate was locked (while myself and 4 other cars were outside the gate trying to get in) and they told me "Oh, it's been broken." But there was no sign up and the entry/exit was extremely difficult to exit, so all 4 cars had to back out into oncoming traffic to get out and it was dangerous. Furthermore, after 2+ months, the gate is STILL not working. Additionally, when I contacted customer service (multiple times) they always directed me to another phone number. The regional manager and "top executive" for the area were difficult to reach and also were unhelpful. I still cannot access my online account because I was told we have to change emails in person. Well, I'm out of state (because I moved - hence the need for storage) and the location closest to me is over 1.5 hours away from me. Lastly, we were overcharged for some unknown reason - when we finally reached the "top executive" to explain why, they said we were auto paying on the 20th and they bill on the first of the month, so they charged us an extra 10 days' worth to make their billing cycles easier for themselves. I do not recommend this company at all.

This is a terrible place to store your items, whether just a few items or precious keepsakes. They…read morenever fix the lights outside which is a safety risk. Most of the units have the risk of water getting in the unit, especially when the seal is broken on your unit. The doors don't stay up because they are broken and rusty. Doors have sometimes fallen down on fragile items and yourself. The units are dirty and never cleaned between customers. Bugs are often a problem. They are not professional. They change the price without notice. They talk about other tenants and their business. They complain and claim you have behaved badly when you have been a good tenant. They won't take partial payments. They are rude and threaten good tenants that may fall on temporary difficult times by saying you better never be late or we will throw your stuff out on the street. When you do try to pay, they may not be open. They never follow the Alabama law of sending appropriate invoices, letters of default and receipts. They lock your units even if you are a minute late which is against the law of granting access until default. When you ask them to take care of their end of the contract, it gets brushed off or they say another company takes care of that. They have gravel instead of pavement. That gravel gets kicked into your units and your car. Not to mention, broken down buildings that others have not wanted to follow me into the area. Falling down fence surrounding area, trash, broken down cars, and rusted debris, outsiders say they don't feel safe and it doesn't look nice. Someone could easily break in with the broken fence. They never change the security code, so when a tenant moves out they still have the code and could continue to use it. I would not rent from this place with all the other great, professional facilities around. If I were the boss, I would like to know that these people are costing me business. I wouldn't shop with them either to not support their behavior or treatment of people.

Instead, I'm left with scuffed walls, scratched appliances, and a $3,500 refrigerator/freezer that was laid on its side and strapped with bungee cords--yes, on its side. The dents on the fridge clearly match the heads of the bungee cords, yet the mover tried to blame a U-Haul hand truck. The damage speaks for itself. Despite the truck advertising "licensed and insured," the company has stopped responding to calls and messages. No follow-up, no accountability, no claim filed. If you damage a customer's property, own it and make it right. That's the bare minimum. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. If you value your belongings and peace of mind, look elsewhere.
