I honestly haven't needed a storage unit in several Years however we had a loss to our home and was in desperate need of one. I reached out to Extra Space and there was one unit available. They shared it was easy accessible which was needed given we had so much furniture and had movers assisting and shared that they would grant me a month free. There were no hidden fees, the unit was the perfect size and the site manager Christina and the rest of her team were extremely professional kind and just overall on it. These last 2 years have been rough for our family so it feels so good to experience genuine and kind people. I didn't feel like they were being sales people, didn't feel pressured, they were just simply finding the best solution for our family needs. I've had my mother's furniture at this storage facility for over 2 years. I never had a problem with rodents as mentioned by others. The unit next to mine leaked motor oil into my unit. Stephen was helpful in letting me know where to turn if any damage had occurred. I wish the rates didn't have to go up yearly... I have spoken to a few of the staff and they have been helpful. When I let Stephen know I might need to move out between due dates, he worked with me in getting the big unit cleared and prorated. Thank you for your help! read more

I would go somewhere else to store your belongings unless your ok with rat piss and shit on all your items. After me and my fiancé having a storage unit for about 8 months we found a house and so went to go move out all our stuff. To realize it was all ruined by rat feces. We ended up throwing away all our furniture because it was so bad. So we were wasting money on storing away furniture just to throw it away because some how rats got into our unit. I used this facility for the month of July during a move. I want to say that Frida gives incredible customer service. She was on top of everything regarding contracts etc and completed everything online easily and at my convenience. We live in an HOA area and are not allowed to park my husbands work truck in our driveway or on the street. We looked for a storage facility that my husband could access 24 hours a day because he works nights. We picked Extra Storage because of the promise of cleaness, safeness and security. He would be driving his personal truck and leaving it at the facilty while he took his work truck to work. One morning around 8am my husband drove his work truck back to Extra Storage after working all night. When he went to open one of his truck doors he was surprised by some random man sleeping in his truck. The man had several knifes and marijuana all over his truck. The man reached for one of the knives and my husband found himself fighting for his life. The man got away. My husband called the police and made a report. The man broke into the truck by breaking several door handles. By the look of the inside of the truck he was there all night. My husband had to wait for the storage office to open up to notify them of what happened. The office manager was so uncaring and actually told my husband his story did not add up. My husband had just gone through a traumatic experience and this manager was so uncooperative. Needless to say I left several messages for the corporate office to contact us regarding the incident and the behavior of the manager at the facility. Finally I got a hold of corporate only to be told that they have no control over what happens at the facility and that there was nothing they could help with. They were not responsible. So I guess that our truck is no more safer in their facilty than if it was just parked on the street somewhere. THEY PROMISE SECURITY AND SAFTEY BUT IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO YOUR PROPERTY YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN. RENTER BEWARE!......NOT A SAFE STORAGE FACILITY. We are currently out of $500 for deductible and no truck for a week while its being fixed. DO NOT USE! MY HUSBAND WAS ATTACKED ON THEIR FACILITY.....UNSAFE! read more

So the staff and manager are very polite and professional and the outside and hallways are kept up very nicely which is why I'm giving them three stars HOWEVER there is a serious rat problem....I've had my storage unit for about a year and I came to check on it one day and there was rat feces and urine all over very valuable items and other things that I've had. They even managed to get into one of the plastic containers with the lid. It was extremely gross and disappointing that I had to throw away pretty much all of my belongings. So BEWARE! If you decide to store your belongings here make sure you wrap them up tight because if you don't be prepared to throw away a bunch of stuff! The other issue I have is they keep raising the price of the unit. Since I've had it the price has gone up 2xs. I'm a little indifferent about whether or not I would recommend this place because I really like the staff but at the same time I lost a lot of my personal stuff so all I can say is do your research and look around to see if this storage unit fits you best. read more

They have great hours, the manager lives on the premises and security systems that make me feel comfortable storing my things here and accessing my unit alone. The staff are very polite and helpful however the buildings have rats we had our storage for 7 months and as we emptied it out saw rat droppings everywhere, in all our things. Even worse as we got home we noticed fleas biting us and realized our things were infested with rat fleas in our brand new house with new carpet. What a disaster! We are getting rid of most of our stuff just to not deal with it and are now trying to get the fleas out of our home. We have used other storage company's before but found Extra Space Storage on Collier Ave in Lake Elsinore to be the best. We had to close down a business and put lots of items in storage fast. The Extra Space Storage on Collier Ave had just we what we needed and for a good price. Since loading up our storage unit, we have had to go back from time to time to take things out and put things back. Every time we have gone there, the place is clean and the employees are fantastic. Recently, we were in our storage and dropped a key to our car into a locked drop-box that we had in our storage unit (I know, what a dummy). We didn't have the key to the drop box so we couldn't get the key to our car. We tried to find something to pry open the lock box without success. Finally I went to the office and asked the employee Stephen if he had a screw driver or something that could help. Stephen immediately went to a storage unit (where Extra Space keeps their own stuff) and retrieved a screwdriver. We were able to get the lock box open and retrieve our keys. Even before I could walk back to the office, Stephen came down to ask if the screwdriver worked or if there was anything else he could do. WOW. It was hot, our keys were locked in a storage box, and we were standing in a metal storage unit. Needless to say my patience with our situation was gone. And then, Stephen turned our day around with his helpfulness and positive attitude. We are glad we chose the Extra Space Storage in Lake Elsinore on Collier Ave. And you should too!!!!! :)))))) read more
