The man on the phone said YES, so I rented it online. I drove to the location and there was no space to drop a POD. I called back and spoke to the manager and she said they don't allow PODs. Because 48 hours had passed I was not getting a refund of my $224. READ THE FINE PRINT IN YOUR CONTRACT. Read the other reviews as well. No other comments so maybe this review will stick.

I immediately moved out and will never use this company again. Beware of the low initial price offered for units....if they have someone new who wants to rent your space, they will raise the price so high that , in my case, was almost double. So much for caring about your customers and their loyalty to their business. I would never recommend this business. I used this storage space prior to Self Storage Plus acquiring the business, and much prefer the previous owner who did not rip you off like this.

Temperatures in the "climate controlled" units are not kept at proper levels!…read more We have three storage units at the Sunnygate location and pay approximately $450 a month for climate controlled storage that is hot, humid and miserable! It is July in MANASSAS VA. We have had recent temperatures hovering around 100°. The temperature inside our climate controlled storage units should be bearable. However, the multiple containers of Damp-rid we have in each of our units continue to be FILLED with water from the extreme humidity inside the "climate controlled" storage units. We were inside the building for less than 10 minutes last evening sweating profusely from the miserable temperatures, while adding replacement damp rid products to our units! This is totally unacceptable and a repetitive issue with this location. This happened last year, and was reported to management without a resolution. We are adding Damp-rid every 15 to 30 days while paying... $5,400 a year for "three" climate controlled units at this location! Where is the climate control? We have also reached out to Customer Service and are revisiting our choice of companies to use for our storage needs. Why is this a recurring problem at this location? We have not been notified that there is a mechanical issue that occurs each year. We have not been financially compensated for the lack of temperature regulation for which we are paying. CubeSmart why are you not providing what customers are purchasing?

The storage mart employee called me after emailing me asking if I still needed the unit. I told him I didn't but assumed I lost my money (which was the most reasonable price in my area). He told me they could just vacate the unit and return my money even after I said to him that I was okay with them keeping the money since they did work on my behalf and I signed documents. These include the back gate left unlocked and wide open as displayed in my photo. To make matters worse, the buildings are left unlocked 24/7, and many units have hollow core doors. So much t would be a small matter for someone to enter, put their fist through storage unit doors, and empty the place. As a former police officer, my advice is to keep the back gate locked at all times. Lock the buildings at night, and replace hollow core doors --including the one to the office -- with solid core. And while you're at it, a basic alarm system would be well worth the expense. If you did these things, your property would beat anything else in NVA hands down.

She even told us that the insurance is not required unlike the PS around the corner who told us we are required yo pay for insurance. The rate for the exact same 10 x 10 outside access units to store a motorcycle was $96 a month less than the Public Storage location less than 1 mile away.
