My mother and I came here to this location July 11th 2025 to get a storage unit for some of our items because we are moving and starting all over! Melissa the manager was absolutely amazing when It comes to customer service! I am so glad that we came to this location! She explained everything thoroughly! She also had a lovely lady that she was training and she was doing amazing as well! While we were getting g our contract done we had a lot of laugh and it was a great time! I definitely recommend this location as she was very transparent with us on everything and is very personable! I was previously a public storage for a couple years and it seemed like every other month they would increase the rent. I decided to find a more affordable facility I found a more affordable unit at extra space on Auburn two month ago I rented a unit for $317 on top of which you pay a mandatory insurance and tax which brought it up to 364.30 which wasn't disclosed enter into the agreement, by the way it was an agreement. so now two months later I'm getting a notice in the mail of a rent increase to 450.30 this kind of slimy greedy business practice has become common they aren't enough people saying I'm done with getting gouged. I'm done with being raked over the Coles taking advantage of because of corporate greed. The only reason is there is two stars. It's because of Vincent, who works at the office. Melissa and her team address everything at this storage complex. Anything, and truly everything, is always being handled. I used the bathroom and the light in the bathroom was flickering, and they had it fixed the next day. I always feel safe while I'm there, the storage units have electricity running to them with electrical outlets and an overhead light. Very pleased. read more

Once you are there, they raise the rent often. They draw you in with a low rate and then just keep raising it.

Do not rent from this place! We just moved our things in and told them it will be for around a year while we finish our build. They raised our rent two months later from $324 to $454! I moved from a public storage because my unit was broken into. Not even a week after moving into extra space, my unit got broken into. The sides are made of steel, however the back wall is MDF particle board. U can kick it in and thats what happened. Not only that but within a couple months my rate went from $135 to $225. Inflation my ass that's way above the rate of inflation. They know they can raise the rate because nobody wants to move all their stuff again. I had an amazing experience with this particular extra space. Zoom was really helpful from the time I rented to the day I moved out. The staff were very service-oriented and friendly, even when i couldn't afford my storage fees. They worked with me so I could get my stuff. Zoom and the manager were very gracious and always kind. I wished the gate hours were different - 8pm is a little early during summer when it stays so hot for so long. Even so I'd rent there again without hesitation. I'm extremely upset with the service or lack there of, I should say, from this business. I purchased my storage a few months back at $135. A few months later, I get a notification in the mail that they have increased my rent. My new monthly would be $200. I couldn't believe my rent had jumped up so significantly and in the short time I had my unit. I figured maybe it was a mistake. I called the company and they told me "Yeah, sorry. There was a rent increase." I told them that was completely unacceptable and that I would not be paying that. The representative I spoke to put me on hold to see if she could get it any lower. She got back on the line and said that she had gotten it approved for $165 a month. I told her that was fine and that we could move forward with that expected monthly amount. 1 month later, I'm getting notification that my rent is now $179. I've called so many times to try and speak with someone. No one is responding and their automated phone system just loops me in circles. I am currently looking for another storage facility. This is not how you do business. read more

I have paid this place every month for a few years. Yes, sometimes late but I paid them. This last 6 weeks I have called to make a payment and no one answers. I leave a message and I dont get a call back. We have played phone tag. I call and someone answers and says "I'm not in the office I'm at the bank. I'll call you back." I call and get the automated system and it doesnt. Recognize my phone numbers. Someone answers today and says, "Your stuff was sold at auction yesterday!" I understand it's a business but for long term customers that pay and have not schleped you.... read more

My fault for not reading the fine print, but extremely poor bait and switch sales tactic to offer pro-rating and not mention the impossible concept of giving a move out date a month in advance in order to utilize this "offer". Stay away! This company doubled my storage fee during Covid from 65 per month to 132!! I explained to them that my little dog needed needed emergency surgery last month (2500) and I would be paying my rent late. This place is shady. The reason it has such high reviews on Google is because Lorenzo (the manager) is very pushy about getting you to leave a 5-star review in his presence. Also, before I arrived for my appointment I asked what I needed to bring. Just your identification I was told. When I arrived I learned I needed proof of insurance (this is not based on credit as my score is 850.) I provided it later that day but still had to pay for their insurance. I was told it would be removed but it never was. One last point. Before I signed the rental agreement, Lorenzo was very helpful and easy to get a hold of. Now that I've signed he is seldom available by phone (he has layers of gate keepers.) Also, his demeanor has changed substantially. I'm really sorry I rented here. read more

I have had the BEST experience with Extra Space Storage at 5770 Auburn Blvd. The facility is clean and all of the employees have been helpful. One employee, Zoom, went above and beyond to assist me. I needed assistance a couple of times and she went out of her way to help me. If I ever need storage again, I will definitely come back. Overall, this facility has been efficient, easy to use, and despite my unit being in a one-story building, it never got hot at all -- in fact, it stayed comfortably cool throughout the Summer. My one and very significant complaint is the sudden increase in my monthly fee ($84 for a 9x5) of $30 for which I received a card via snail mail saying that it was for "insurance" and that it was in accord with my contract. No explanation for an insurance fee that is effectively a 35% rent hike and is way way higher than my renter's insurance on my house!! To be fair, I was late with a payment a couple of months back because of a change in my automatic deduction, but even if I am to pay THEIR insurance like a mortgage insurance, the amount is unjustifiable. Was happy with the facility at first, the staff seemed friendly and helpful. We were told our unit was safe behind an access code gate entry, as well as being under video surveillance. The building our unit is in has doors at the end of the hall, these doors are unlocked at ALL times, and exit to the non gated parking lot.Two weeks ago someone parked on the side of the building after hours, simply opened the door, cut our locks (along with four other units) and cleared out the units. Then, today in the mail, I get a notice that they want to increase our monthly payment by $7. You can decide if you want to leave your stuff there. read more
