Extremely disappointed and disgusted with this storage facility. We found rat droppings throughout our unit and around our belongings. When we brought it to the staff's attention, they basically told us that this happens and there wasn't much they could do about it. To make matters worse, there isn't even a dumpster or proper place on-site to dispose of contaminated or damaged items. Staff suggested we take them elsewhere and throw them in local trash bins. When you're paying every month to store your belongings, you expect a clean, properly maintained facility and some level of assistance when there is a pest problem. The rodent issue was bad enough, but the response from staff made the experience even more frustrating. I would think twice before storing anything here. read more

RATS. Need I say more... after I filed a complaint they didn't offer any help, but instead said that pest control would visit the facility at some point, but no guarantee as to when. I had to clean rat feces and urine off all of my things only to come back the next day and do it all over again. Dark unit. Holes in the wall. Spiders and spiderwebs. Horrible overall experience.. got out of there and found a new storage company to use. read more

This place is pretty terrible. Their roof failed twice during the 3 years we had a unit. We were effected both times and some of our items had to be thrown away. Each time we had to change the unit. The process was very disfunctional. Our second unit was on the bottom floor and after a rain I had noticed water intrusion on the floor near my unit. I talked to someone in the office about it since I was very concerned having experienced water damage before. I was told that management had been made aware of the issue but had not resonded to the staff with a plan to mediate the problem. The result was that during the next rain my unit had water damage again. Customer service is very inconsistent. Some employees are friendly, others very dismissive. All in all, I would not go back there and would choose a better managed storage facility. read more

I called to confirm the hours someone would be on the premises today. I also was told the lock on my unit had been removed. That was Sunday. I went on Tuesday, with a friend who brought his truck to help move out, but the door was still locked. My friend drove over an hour to come and now the same back. This was Very maddening and totally unprofessional. There was no one in the office or answering the phone. I felt horrible for my friend losing his work time driving hours back and forth for me. My move-out is delayed, but my anger toward Public Storage will last forever. This is NOT PUBLIC STORAGE...in any way, shapr or form. December 30, 2024 | received this injury due to this protruding foot-long piece of metal Sticking from the wall around a blind corner. I asked for a Band-Aid in the front office, and was scoffed at. "We don't give customers bandaids. Do you think we're a Pharmacy?" I had to go to the emergency room, Had to get a tetanus shot, Had to go on antibiotics, missed two weeks of work, and now six weeks later have a lifelong scar. Extra Space storage? Their response has been "Lady go f$&k off." Even their employees (Look online) Say the worst part about their job is how aggressive they are towards customers. And there's a class Action suit against them for their unethical bait and switch tactics. Not "good" Mormons who run this Utah corp! The front office will deliberately contradict your 20 page contract and you will pay $$$. I need a good personal injury / property negligence lawyer. Google " Extra Space storage class action lawsuits." There are many. They are Corporate abusers of consumers. Extra Space is a real estate investment based in Utah. There some objective is to F$&k the consumer w unethical bus practices, provide zero customer service (read the one star reviews not the paid five star), and enrich the senior (Mormon-- ha!) executives. I have been at this storage space for three years. They used to be privately owned. When they were, someone was always there, things always worked but then when they sold - the lifts are often broken, doors are always locked due to lack of employees being there. One time I had to go get items from my unit for a shoot and I couldn't access my unit due to the drive way being repaved - which they never sent a notice to their tenants about this happening to give us a heads up. In the last year and half, they have randomly raised the rent with ZERO heads up. They claim they mailed letter, however, each time this happened I never receive a letter, text or email. I am currently renting a space for $131 a month and now this month that rent for the exact same space with zero heads up jumped to $217 a month. This is an insane price hike! I called and ask what this was for and they claimed to keep up with the competitive pricing in the area. They did NOT increase there hours or anything. Therefore I will be moving out by the end of this month. They won't let me move out right away and pro-rate the month. They wouldn't work with me at all, just claimed they mailed a letter. Which I still have yet to receive. They lack communication and giving tenants any type of a 30 day notice or heads up on any construction that may prevent one from accessing their unit. read more

Their hours aren't as listed on gate. I have shown up twice before the gate closes and someone on the buzzer says "sorry, gates closed" and then when I ask another question asking about hours they don't respond. Rude. What are the actual hours I can access my storage unit? read more

Make your own decisions based on this. I rented in November. Space was a 4x4 Rent was $66. On day of signing the employee switched my rate from the advetised $66 to $83 never saying a word. When I caught it and asked she offered this: " that's only if you do auto withdrawal. " I rolled with it, giving the benefit of the doubt, had her change it back and put my account on autopay. Fast forward to today. Checking my bank account the upstanding Extra Space had auto-deducted $132 ! ( photo attached ) If increasing your rent by 100% out of the blue works for you, by all means, rent away. Now you know. This is what happens when major conglomerates overtake the mom and pops that at one time graced most of Santa Monica. read more

This place was formerly SANTA MONICA STORAGE, and I've had a storage unit here for 18 years. It was always clean and well maintained store. This year it became a EXTRA SPACE STORAGE store. I went to the facility today for the first time in a few months and was shocked to find it completely infested with pigeons. There literally was pigeon feces and feathers EVERYWHERE! On the floors, stairs, banisters, and walls. When I got to my storage unit, that has an open mesh ceiling I found the contents of my unit covered in bird feces and feathers. I talked with the store manager and also contacted the EXTRA SPACE STORAGE corporate offices. They were not terribly concerned or very helpful. Now I'm cleaning and moving my stuff to a different storage company asap. read more

I don't usually do reviews but I just had to. I called about a month ago and was able to get a storage unit pretty quickly. I came to the unit and for some reason couldn't quite get the gate working and I'm disabled so it's hard getting around. I called for assistance and Jason came out and helped me get in. He was so patient with this old man and very understanding. I appreciate that. This facility was clean and I appreciate Jason for showing kindness. read more

The staff here is incredible and accommodating. They close at 4pm on Sundays and I rolled in with my U-Haul at about 3:50. Mariano was so kind to let me unload my third trip of the day. He stayed a little after 4 so I could get it done. With the stress of moving it was really awesome to have someone be so kind. Also, Cat was so helpful booking my unit; taking me around the grounds to find one that would fit my needs. Exemplary workers 10/10! read more

The front office staff is excellent , especially Edwin and Cat. Prices are fair and facilities for storage are easily accessible and clean.
