Then they kept raising It bi monthly and it is now at $200/month. Which is the same as the original larger size that we had. Which was the size of a large bedroom. This one is the size of a small closet. We have called and they told us it's dynamic pricing and all storage companies do it. And then, "Our rent goes up too". Well it's not an apartment and rents don't usually go up that quickly. It is usually yearly or bi yearly. I hate dynamic pricing. Airlines do it also. My job even does it once and awhile and I find it embarrassing when I have to explain it to customers. IMO if you are doing well why raise prices? It's not like they are raising our salaries when they do well. I was going to keep it longer at the $70 price even though it is still a waste of money. But $200?? Now I have to fly down there and close it up. My bad for not planning better the first time but my Dad was dying and we were more focused on that. But I recommend not getting storage lockers if you can help it.

Sharon (Manager) SAID NO ONE TAKES BEDS AND THERE IS A 350.00 DUMPING FEE. She wanted me to sign abandoned paperwork on the unit. Guess what I found a Charity and they came and took everything on 5/19. My billing went from 5/15-6/14, and they charged me my monthly rate of 158.00.(3 days) Over 3 years Big Jims has made a small fortune off of us $5688.00. but still took their 158.00. Joe's family has owned this property for 22 years. Family owned storage facilities are the VERY best especially if professionally impeccably run like Sawyer. I rented from Public storage until this year in Minnesota - - they raised my rent 50 % in May to $1500 a month for 2 thirty foot deep temp controlled units after being a loyal customer for 18 years!!! 4 years ago the top middle and local management throughout Public Storage that had worked for years, suddenly ALL quit in 2-3 months, and then rental rates sky rocketed each year. This is happening nationally with all giant corporate storage companies! I now will ONLY use top quality local regional family owned storage companies. This facility originally was an ice skating rink then a post office. They retrofitted it into a spotless, perfectly lit, very very well air conditioned/ fully temperature controlled medium sized facility. The front door slim door mounted security key pad is very easy to use. We have been coming to Sarasota visiting in-laws for 35 years and never knew this building and street existed. It is very nicely tucked away hidden off two quiet small roads. Security outside and inside are excellent and someone is in the office/ facility daily 9-5, saturdays 9-12. I feel 100 % secure here coming solo ( over age 70). Location is excellent if you live in Osprey, Sarasota, Siesta Key, Downtown Sarasota and worth the drive if you live in Longboat Key. Enjoy!

I had a problem with my door code and he fixed it quickly. He is a phone call away! Never had any issues there in the 2 years I used them! I would refer anyone to them. There's a guy in the office waving to us who won't come to the door. If they don't have a bypass on that gate for when the electric goes out then they are idiots. This is Florida and the wind knocks the electric out all the time so I have to rent a truck on a different day and pay more money? I took today off and I have to be out of my apt Sunday and could be charged more money if I'm not. In other words these people are costing me hundreds of dollars. Don't rent here they hold your stuff hostage for ridiculous reasons. There is zero reason that I could not access my unit today. I called the corporate office and they were not helpful.
