Our indoor storage space was ROBBED! Beware...If you have a storage room at Extra Space Storage at 7392 Westminster Blvd. between Western Ave. and the 22 Freeway, you better check on your valuables. Thieves entered the property and made their way to the third floor, picked the lock on our door and stole thousands of dollars of guitars, amps, a priceless record collection and many personal items. They put the lock back on. The lock was not cut and no sign of forced entry. No telling what other spaces were violated. All the looks of an inside job! Go elsewhere! We are pissed!! The property only has cameras on the outside of the building and no cameras in the elevators or interior hallways. The company is denying any responsibility for the thefts and said they will only review or release security camera footage if the police request them to do so. We had the Westminster PD come over and we filed a report yesterday. Tell anyone that has a rented space to check that they have not been robbed too. The manager hung up on me when discussing their security issues and asking for corporate management inquiries. Do not rent here at all. It's a bad area! There are no cameras inside the units in the buildings, only outside. Someone already stole two times from my unit, and other units were also hit as well. What is suspicious is that my lock and door was left intact, everything was the way it was; door closed and lock back on. The office doesn't care and all they say is: "call the police and make a report!" If you want to keep your items safe, do not trust this place, all they care is about money. I pay $ 400 for my unit a month, and started paying $200. So much money and they don't improve security or camera. Very unprofessional read more

Ronnie didn't bother to lift my restricted access after we had already discussed the issue over the phone. The night before last I didn't check the time when I got to the storage because I swear the last time I checked my phone for the time it was 8-something and I was heading to the storage site so thats why I didn't check the time. Anyway the gate let me in so that's another reason why I didn't check the time. Another reason why I didn't check the time is because I did not hear any announcements on their security PA system. They usually tell people the time so we know to be out by 10. But I did not hear a single thing since I got there so I thought I was good. I got my stuff and left. The next day I get a call from the storage so I call back five minutes later and they said I left the property after hours at 10:20 instead of 10. I was confused and let him know I did not realize I did that because the gate still let me in? He said I opened the gate at 9:59. I said oh ok I'm sorry it won't happen again I really thought I was within the timeframe. So he said he would have to write it down and I said ok. But he never said writing it down meant he was restricting my access! I went the next day at 7pm and I was locked out! Now I've been calling all morning since 9am and they won't answer or call me back. So basically when it comes to restricting me and punishing me he don't miss a beat but when it comes to correcting their mistake they are impossible to reach otp! Knowing they are the only ones that we can turn to for help. I've seen a girl go into her storage at 9:40 and completely have all her stuff out when I left at 9:55 just saying! I just don't understand why they would penalize me when the security guard literally could've just said the time on the PA system and told me to leave and I would've left. As simple as that! Now even after I called them right away to clear up the confusion I'm still locked out with no explanation!? I pay $163 for a 5x10 please if anyone reads this and knows a better deal please reply to me and let me know because I started at $80 and they literally doubled it and claimed they couldn't notify me through email or phone only through mail but I lived in my car at the time so I didn't even know where they mailed it to honestly so I just said ok fine but now that they did this I'm so annoyed! And also after reading these other reviews I'm afraid of management breaking into my unit just because they can. SMH read more

My first time renting a storage space. The facility is clean and gated, the hours are reasonable, carts are provided to help transfer things to your storage, and the space is exactly as described online. I reserved the space online and, honestly, didn't remember I reserved the space with so many EO year things to do. The company kept in touch to make sure I was still interested which really impressed me. In service industry, accountability is monumental. On-site manager was very professional and so pleasant when answering my newbie questions. I would have given five stars if there weren't so many surprises: -1x setup fee, -external storage property insurance required, -and the card you pay with is saved for automatic, monthly debits. Make sure you have a card you don't mind autopays to come out of. My rate is promotional so I can expect a reminder e-mail regarding what the new rate will be. There's a minimum time frame to cancel lease and auto pay. Otherwise, once monthly payment is taken there are no refunds -- you have the space for another month. I forgot to ask if there was a cancellation fee... I hope not. I'll update. read more

This first half is for the customer service. Kim Buchanan-Coleman, the on-site manager, made my entire rental experience a very smooth & pleasant one. She explained everything in detail, answered all my questions and showed me the property before I signed up. Every time that I showed up with some kind of need, she accommodated me with a smile - even when she was getting ready for lunch. Oh! She even walks the grounds to check up on everything. A great example of genuine customer service! This second half is for the facility itself. I rented with Public Storage before & it just got scary, dirty, unkept, etc. When I found Extra Space Storage just down the street, I was thrilled. After a tour of the facility & the units I was looking to rent, I knew this was my new place to store. The grounds are kept clean, clutter-free. The storage units are clean. There are no holes in the walls. No signs of any kind of infestation like there was at the other place. There are pull dollies on every elevator to help with transporting your stuff from your car to your unit. Every hallway is lighted for safety. There's even music playing. Every time I come here, I don't feel scared or nervous because of what might lurk on the grounds or in the units. Overall, an ideal place for storing my things with peace of mind. Close by. Clean. Congenial staff. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a storage company! read more

Parking here sucks. I just moved in about 4 months ago and they already doubled my rent. To top it off, the building my unit is in, is old, dumpy and outdated with smelly old carpeted isles, and plywood storage units (Don't be deceived by their online pictures) They definitely don't want to keep happy customers. I left here over a year ago and still have bad feelings about this place which is why I am compelled to write this even now. Plus my mom always said if you can't say something nice about someone, you shouldn't say anything at all...so I will tell you the nice things. 1. If you want to work with someone who has no compulsion for client satisfaction, then this is a great place. The on-site manager yelled at me once for making too much noise on her day off. I was putting stuff in my unit. No radio, no car engines...just moving stuff around. 2. Another good thing was that homeless people were definitely welcomed here. This is not an accusation, it is a fact and while I have no idea if they still are or aren't. they were. I'd be there late at night and see people come into the complex on bikes and then disappear to other inside units never to be seen again coming out before they closed. This was a regular occurrence. 3. If you love feeling uncomfortable and unsafe...bingo. This is your spot. A lot of people walking and riding around taking good hard looks at you and your stuff. 4. To be fair, the place is generally very clean and well kept but don't let that trick you. There is a bathroom outside the gate that non-customers have access to and it always smelled like something funky was just smoked inside. Not cool. 5. If you don't like having money, there is another good thing about this location. Multiple price increases because of "shortage of units"....except, you can see which units are occupied and there were not shortages. Then you go on the website and see your exact same unit for less. Just good introductory prices to get you in and then they just raise at will. There are too many other options around. I know I won't be back. read more

This place was burglarized a few months ago, from the outside it looks secure but not really. On Nextdoor app looks like more than just this Extra Storage location was robbed. Many peoples items stolen and nothing found. We were lucky nothing got taken from ours but I felt bad about the others that didn't fare well. They then increase the rent without notice & when we wanted to move to a smaller space wouldn't give us money back for the difference, it wasn't much but at least give it for having to take a day off and having to assess what it wasn't taken in our old unit. Then we're really rude when we wanted to move to a smaller space. Can't wait to get out stuff out of here but have to wait til we move into a bigger place. read more

I stored my furniture in extra space storage (7362 Garden Grove) last year. I didn't want to write the review because I was dealing with the police so the person who stole it, won't use it for the wrong reason. The person stole my personal things from passports, citizenship and everything valuable (clothes , purses, watches, papers, .. everything..) the person who did it knew what is there .. they took their time to collect things. that means he or she came after hours when no one allowed to be there. I asked for the recorded video and the lady who work there said no point because they don't have camera at the back and I won't see anything???? it took us a year to took us a year to solve the matter with the police any others to solve our issues. btw, we brought the valuable things in a black safe on Saturday and the week after on Monday I came to collect it and they are gone?? with all our expensive stuff. they opened bags and get only the things they wanted. they took their time because they are certain no one will come. Competitive prices and a bonus for me was that the interior space was almost as good as the more expensive climate controlled spaces at other locations. Kim is the best!! My mom died suddenly and I had to vacate her apartment immediately. The problem was, due to Covid restrictions, the packing and the move could only start after 6pm. That meant that the unpacking at a storage unit would be late at night. We had been to several storage facilities all saying they could not accommodate us. Kim was a breath of fresh air. Not only did she listen and understand what the situation was, she bent over backwards to make it all happen. Her storage facility is open until 10 but she gave me her cell phone number so I could call and get in after hours. She could not have been more kind and helpful. Kim is friendly and really keeps an eye on the place. She is constantly cleaning and making sure all the elevators and hand carts are clean and working properly. I have been a customer for 4 months. The women who manages this facility is a tyrant. I have a hauling business, i am In and out of this facility sometimes daily. This woman gave me a Warning for checking my oil.... Two day's ago i stuck my hammer on my trailer and she tried to give me another warning but didn't allow her to do so because I gave my notice on the spot. I was also doing business in my truck for a few hours, when she approached and stated " if i wasnt unloading or loading i needed to leave" Ya..... Control issues bug time!!! read more

Worst customer service! I had stuff stolen from there and called the cops. It looked like an inside job. I then asked Kim to look at the cameras and they said it was to hard to even notice who could of done it! They refused to let me look at the cameras and they said they did it and saw nothing! Then when I tried to get the insurance to pay me off Kim said she had taken it off my contract and that they had sent a letter to let me know. They never sent a letter! Great customer service. Very clean facility. Very good price. Kim and Eduardo were perfect. I cannot give this place enough stars. My wife and I were frantically searching for a storage unit, and we contacted Extra Space Storage online. Their customer service was outstanding. When we arrived at the location Eduardo was ready and waiting. He showed us the unit we had picked out, and explained the benefits of the unit, showed us that although we were on the 2nd floor, it was easy to maneuver the items we planned on storing. He answered all questions we had, and responded and addressed all concerns. My wife wanted to see other units, and he took the time to go and show us two additional units. He was incredibly patient throughout the whole process. He said something a long the lines of, "Moving is stressful enough, we want to make it as stress-free as possible." They really do just that at Extra Space storage. When we arrived back in the office to sign documentation, Kim recognized my wife from her voice on the phone, and remembered her name and their conversation from before. She specifically asked if a concern she expressed over the phone had been addressed. There are carts/dollys available to help with some moving. read more

I've had a bit of a mixed experience here. In four years the rates were already 50% higher than move in, and the insurance feels questionable. That said, Kim checked me in and has been exceptionally attentive to my needs and questions! Storage can feel sketchy at times, but this facility has been clean, and the staff great. I recently was helping an unemployed veteran that had fallen behind in his payments and his unit contents were up for auction. Fortunately we were able to prevent due to the help of Dora and Kim.
