Update on this storage facility. We rented a 10'x15' space from A-1 Self Storage a few months ago. We signed a 1 year contract for this storage unit. In April we received a letter telling us the rent was going up from $126 to $189 a month. My wife called them and ask why and what about the 1 year contract we signed. They said that they could raise the price anytime because it's in the small print of the contract. We trusted this company and felt they were being honest and upfront with us when we first rented. This is a bait and switch company and I would stay away from every doing business with them if you're looking for a self storage facility! read more

It is my first time using this location. It is clean , in a good location and good fair rates. I recommend.

Today was my final check in. I cleared out my 10 by 10 unit that belonged to my husband who passed away in 2020. At one point we had two units. My 10 by 10 was located within a upstairs floor. It never bothered me because they have those elevator lifts to get your things up and down. I kept my own dollie in my unit which made it easy. There was always parking near my unit. I rarely saw anybody when I would come. I think people just put their stuff away and forget about it. Prices used to be really inexpensive. Over the years my unit price would go up. If you dont pay your unit will get the red tag of shame which prevents you from opening it. That reminds me of storage wars. I was renting here for over 15 years. Probally longer. read more

I started renting two storage units here at $250 per unit per month, which was reasonable at the time. However, over the course of my rental, the price has increased every few months. I now pay a total of $790 per month for the same two units. Nothing about my units has changed except the price. If you're considering this place, be prepared for frequent rate hikes that add up quickly, especially if you plan to stay long-term. Their website shows the same unit standard rate of $230 per month and a discounted rate of $115 for the first month. The constant rate increases make it very difficult to budget and feel unfair as a long-term customer. Be aware that the price you start at is not what you'll be paying in a couple of months. Maybe its time to start looking elsewhere since other comparable storage units are going for $230 a month. read more

But in looking for a new unit I stumbled across A-1 Self Storage on Ball in Anaheim and I have been very impressed! They offer everything that other storage companies do, but then they take it up a notch. I wish I had found them 10 years ago! The units are very clean and well maintained, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful. Prices are competitive in the market. Security is the best I have ever seen. Wonderful location, staff and service. This was y first experience with self storage and the team made it so easy. I was texting from the website and they texted back promptly and stayed in touch. When I was ready to visit they remembered me and took me on a tour of the available units. They were so helpful and friendly it made renting quick and easy. I would highly recommend them if you've got extra stuff to store. I switched from a POD which was costing me about $225 a month, I downsized a bit and was able to drop the cost to about $100 a month. I paid for a year in advance so that they won't increase the rent for a year. I will update in the future as they advised that the rates could increase by an average of 5 percent every 6 months. They said that was standard for the industry, which I didn't know but wanted to share for the newbies like me. read more
