Be aware that this place has real burglary issue. I lost over $10k worth in property and we still find stuff missing months after. It's a nightmare and an invasion. I'm posting this after seeing a post on Facebook and another recent review about theft here on yelp. We rented a unit for a couple months. It was partially filled while we staged our home and then moved into fully after we sold on 7/28. Our stuff was only in there for 3 months and the weekend before we moved out, I found it had been broken into. The thieves replaced the lock. Alarm went off multiple times and we never got notified. The cameras didn't get any footage and were not working as of 9/19/2019. That means almost 2 months of no camera footage. I was also the fourth one to report a burglary there that WEEK. Unfortunately home insurance didn't cover it because the alarms went off between the date I sold my house and bought my new one so I had no coverage. Why would one think to have home insurance without a home right? Even with insurance it's a major hassle documenting missing items. I don't think this storage experience is normal. I think there is something definitely wrong with this place in regards to security. I think any storage facility toting "cameras and secure entry" is a marketing scam now because even with all of that in play, they can't do anything for you anyways because all you'll get to do is watch people take your stuff. The staff was nice but frankly I had to repeatedly call for updates on their non working cameras and felt like this was so normal to them that they were brushing it off. read more

I have been asking for let me take my things out for multiple times, but she doesn't want to let me do it. She wants to sell them online. What the heck, you guys not allow to do it to my things. They are belong to me and my baby daughter. My 2 months baby just need more blanket and a heater from the storage that I have been rented, i dont have a job now due to the covid - 19. The storage location, space and staff are professional, and courteous. However, the reason for the 2 stars is that the price I was quoted was different from the one I signed. On their site, it showed 73, and with the 50% off, it would be ~ 36.50. However, the total came out to 78 full and with the offer, it would be 39. If it wasn't for that, it would get a better rating. Furthermore, leaving a review for the $10 credit cannot stacked with other offers. (e.g. new customers with a %50 off offer.) If management can address these issues, it would improve the customer experience. read more

Beware! My stuff was stolen from this place. They have cameras and access codes but someone still came in and stole a bunch of stuff such as my kenmore washer, clothes, collectibles and empty moving boxes! (Surprised they left anything) I don't know what else they took at this point. I had personal documents there so that's great. Maybe I'll be faced with identity theft too. I waited for 4 hours to file a police report so that I can then file an insurance claim! The place being clean and employees being polite will not matter once your shit is stolen. Seems that there were other thefts too, would have been nice to get an FYI notice. I found out another person was also waiting, at the same time that I was, to report a theft. read more

Since I often move worldwide, whenever I move back to CA, I look for a storage unit which is easily accessible and secure. I searched on the web and found Santa Storage. I did use their coupon for 1/2 off rent for the startup and it was honored. I've been renting with Santa Storage for two years now. Barbara Broderick and her staff are top notch professionals. I cannot sing their praises enough. They are an efficient staff. The facility is very clean, and they work hard to do so. I am on my third unit there, having downsized several times, and been accommodated each time. Sometimes this meant that I had to wait a month for a unit to open up, and I was informed of the availability. Professionally managed. One has to input a code into the lock box to access the main gate, naturally, and also to access upper floors for the elevator. This is reassuring that if someone does not have an upper unit, then people cannot go to areas where they do not have access to. This makes sense to me. I have spent a lot of time packing and unpacking in my two years here. I have seen people leave trash outside their unit, and all kinds of trash, including human wastes. People, a storage unit is not your toilet. How disgusting can people be? Their janitorial staff is awesome even though they have to put up with people treating the place like it's a bathroom or dumping site. I have also been in the office when people come in and take out their anger on the staff members, and then, dump more of their own personal lack of organization on Barbara, the manager. I really don't think it is Santa Storage's staff's fault that: A customer arrives 5 minutes before closing and wants to rent a storage unit. The paperwork takes a good 20 minutes to fill out. This includes a walk to the unit to make sure that the customer wants to rent the size, a walk around the facility to explain the procedures, choosing your gate code and signing the necessary paperwork. The staff is professional to each and every customer. They keep their cool when people lose patience with them about personal business that has nothing to do with renting a storage unit. The janitorial staff is outside sweeping, organizing, and maintaining the property in over 80 degree heat or on cold winter days. How do I know? As a teacher, my vacations line up with those times of the year, and I see what they have to deal with. My response to those whom have given negative reviews about Santa Storage would be: 1) please plan accordingly. allow for the fact that other people might also be at the storage unit when you are there, and also want to use a cart. 2) allow for the fact that you might need a bathroom break and will have to drive off the property to do so. Take out of your storage unit what you need to work on in sections, and not the whole thing. 3) Bring a trash bag and haul out your own trash to put in your own trash can. 4) Be considerate of others trying to get into the storage unit that you blocked with all of your stuff. Santa Storage is run by a professional, courteous staff, and you will not find better. The prices are reasonable and affordable. Call ahead to find out about availability. read more

I can't heap enough praise on Manager Barbara Broderick and her professional staff. They are efficient, thorough, helpful and above all kind. I have been doing business there since I sold my 4 bedroom two years ago. I have had three different units there depending on my needs, and there was alway just the right size and location for my needs each time. I have participated in their free yard sale and met so many nice, courteous tenants, and am comforted that many community organizations, including Garden Grove Police Department also keeps storage units there. I was looking around for a storage facilty and after few searches I finally decided on this one. The price is fair and the specials you receive when you first sign up are excellent. The staff at this location do not hide any fees behind their rental costs like most storage facilities, ever heard of "first month free"? Well thats not exactly true. This location is kept very clean and secured. Every unit is equipted with its own individual alarm and insurance is included into the rental cost of the storage unit. This keeps me in peace of mind. The staff at this location are very helpful and friendly. I would really recommend this place to anyone. I really enjoyed doing business with these guys. I had to move to Northern California quicker than I could bring my stuff along with me, and in my search within a 5-10 mi. radius of where I lived, this facility was the most impressive. The key thing here is that these guys not only have an overall alarmed facility, but each, individual unit is alarmed and only unarmed when you enter your unique code at the entry. This extra safety feature, provided at an extremely fair price was the primary thing I was looking for in a storage unit and I found it here. The staff was also extremely helpful and informative. They were very clear about their terms, something that I find very uncommon in customer service these days, and extremely accommodating. I was actually sad to leave them because this business is very clean, these are good guys, and I always enjoy endorsing in good businesses. So here's how I'm paying it forward. 5 star review. Do not use the units here. Because of the rain over the past month month there was leakage in the unit. They called me to check my unit after three weeks of leaked water had damaged my belongings. Obviously, they have friends leaving posts here, because this place sucks! They have many mechanisms in place to separate you from your household goods,, just look at the weekend sales they have to make money on your stuff! They used to be great,, but now they lock you out if your 1 day late with your payment,, you cannot pay thru website, you cannot call in payment with credit card,, hopefully you aren't on vacation! We complained about their messed up system, they threaten to hang up! We went to location and complained about their terrible customer service and they asked us to leave instead of listen, threaten to call police on you!!! We told them that the other crew before them had great customer service skills, and they actually told us that's why those people are no longer working there! We were completely shocked by this statement! Our household goods are almost all destroyed as we looked over our stuff,,, everything is chewed on by rats,, they are everywhere on the property,, we even see them running around the property,, why they put 50 rat traps all over the place! they ate through our boxes, chewed up most of our stuff,, sleep in your clothes boxes and pee and poop on all our stuff!
