My movers were supposed to arrive between 12-2pm (with the coordinator I spoke to saying it would most likely be 12), but they did not arrive until after 4pm. They were nice guys; but they didn't handle my stuff with care. I have nicks and a huge new scratch on my dresser -- I should've seen the red flag when they didn't wrap it (I've moved this dresser many times before and movers have always wrapped it) but just wanted to get the move over with. This dresser has stayed in perfect condition for several years and several moves, so I'm a bit heartbroken. I also have a hugeeeeee rip on my mattress (picture also attached). I'm unsure of how this will impact support and may have to buy an entirely new one. Throughout the process, I just felt very uneasy about how they were handling my stuff. They broke another one of items as well as a hallway light in my new apartment. I don't know if I have any recourse here because I noticed these things after they left, and don't have any before pictures. Within 24 hours, I received a multiple phone calls, an updated claim and satisfactory terms and conditions that more than satisfied the issues I outline below. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I do not write reviews on Yelp, but Clutter unleashed a different beast. I used Clutter for over a year in DC. I had a positive experience with moving my stuff into storage, but they absolutely butchered getting my stuff back. Here's what happened, with accompanying pictures below. - I had wrapped my mattress using a mattress protection bag prior to being put into storage. When I saw my mattress in the storage return from Clutter, the bag had been ripped and a corner of the mattress had been dirtied. - A Clutter mover recklessly wheeled my dresser into the corner of a doorway, shattering a bottom section of the dresser and scattering wood pieces in the hallway that I cleaned myself. - When moving my bed frame into my room, the Clutter mover hit the bed frame on the wall, damaging it. My building said their vendor would charge $200 for fixing the wall. - I opted to store my guitar amplifier, a Fender Blues Junior IV. I loaded the amplifier into a box at the loading dock, placing multiple "fragile" tags on it. I recall a Clutter mover scanning the amplifier into the system. The amplifier did not show up in the system and I did not receive it during my storage return. When I asked for an original itemized list of every item picked up, they did not provide it, instead pointing to the valuation process for assessing my claim. I have every reason to believe they broke the amp or delivered it to someone else. If you are going to use them, then buy the most expensive protection plan if you're going to store valuables. But that would put the price on par with other storage companies that will actually do a job of storing your valuables. TLDR: Clutter is awful. I will never use them again. It's pretty reassuring to see the many others who agree with me. Believe us and use someone else.

I booked this service for storage for a week and then to move my items to a new address. I explained to them then I did not get a good phone signal in the basement where I was staying and asked if they could text me and they complied. The day of the move I took off of work waited for them to arrive called the office. Several times was told they were on their way. I let the dispatcher know I was at the pick up and would wait for their arrival. I also explained I did not have a good cell signal, but I would stay there and wait. He said no problem. I waited until 5 PM. I called multiple times was always told the same thing after five. The dispatcher told me that they tried to call me and I did not pick up. I'll let them know. I had called multiple times and said to text me because I did not have a signal. I let dispatcher know I was waiting at the pick up location. To make matters worse, they charged me $259 for a service that never even happened. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and finally got my money back after two months -- only for Clutter to charge me the same amount again afterward. This is unacceptable and feels completely dishonest. I would never recommend Clutter to anyone. They wasted my time, cost me money, and treated me with zero accountability. I'm furious! I thought I'd be saving money and not only did I lose $250. The company that I ended getting at the last minute was a lot more than what I had budgeted for. The only good thing was how it sounded before I gave them my credit card number.

Once from Indiana to Baltimore City, and the second from Baltimore City to Michigan. The first time I moved with them, the moving coordinator I worked with was very communicative, checked in with me throughout the moving process (including when my items were being picked up), and was conscious of my anxiety levels. The second time I moved, I needed to contact Stephanie to remind her of upcoming deadlines, follow up with her when she said that she would get back to me and failed to do so, and was also unprofessional at times, uttering profanities like "retarded" in reference to the move itself when on the phone with her. What's more is that one of my inventory items never even arrived to me. They launched an audit to find the lost items but came back empty, so I guess one of their workers just walked off with it. The pay out on the audit also was less than half of what the items were valued at. Some of the items that were lost can't be replaced. Like how does something just walk off? You're a moving company that specializes in moving things, and you're one of the most expensive brands in the market with guaranteed service. On a positive note, the people who picked and dropped off my belongings were very professional, on time, and handled everything like glass. Don't think I'll work with Perry again.

The company called to tell me they didn't have a driver and wanted to postpone the pickup. I explained that our flights were already booked for the following evening and that postponing was extremely difficult. Nevertheless, at around 6:00 PM that evening, they emailed to say they still couldn't find a driver, essentially forcing us to delay the move. We had no choice but to reschedule our flights, incur additional expenses, and postpone our travel, all because the company failed to honor its commitment. We had also made it very clear that the movers needed to arrive no later than 8:00 AM on the new date because carpet repair technicians were scheduled for 8:30 AM and a professional cleaning crew was arriving at 11:00 AM. The company assured us they would arrive by 8:00 AM. Instead, no one showed up until after 9:15 AM. The delay forced our contractors to wait, resulting in additional charges. The most upsetting part happened during loading. Our daughter's viola, worth about $4,000, was accidentally loaded onto the truck. Because it is a delicate wooden instrument that can be permanently damaged by prolonged exposure to summer heat, we immediately asked the crew leader to retrieve it. He assured us that once the truck reached the warehouse, they would unload it, locate the viola, and ship it to us via FedEx. We trusted his word and allowed the move to continue. Six days later, the shipment still has no driver assigned. Despite multiple phone calls and emails explaining the urgency, the company has refused to retrieve the instrument or expedite the whole delivery. They even told me that the crew leader's promise "doesn't count." Meanwhile, the truck is sitting in extreme summer temperatures, putting our daughter's instrument at serious risk of irreversible damage. Today, they stopped answering my phone calls altogether. Instead, they replied an email by telling me to contact United Van Lines about its delay policy, effectively passing the responsibility elsewhere instead of resolving the problems they created. My family has been patient, cooperative, and reasonable throughout this process. We rearranged our travel plans to accommodate the company's scheduling failure, yet they have repeatedly failed to keep their promises or communicate responsibly. I am a professor and clinician who cares for cancer patients. In both my professional and personal life, honesty, integrity, and keeping the promise are fundamental values. It is deeply disappointing to experience such poor communication, broken promises, and lack of accountability from a company entrusted with transporting our family's belongings. By now, I still have no idea when our household goods will arrive or what condition they will be in. If you're considering this company, I strongly encourage you to think twice. The fuel/transport fee was above average especially given the move location was only a 2 miles distance. They added an extra mover the day off bc we have stairs. Though that was their decision, we were charged above the quoted rate for the additional person. I paid cash, which gave us a 10% discount but with all the extra fees, the 10% isn't much of a savings. I still tipped and nothing was broken or damaged during the move. They also arrived on time and helped taped boxes that needed additional reinforcement. Boxes were placed on the appropriate rooms based on the labels. I would hire them again but would budget for 15-20% more than what they quote.
