Had this unit for over a year and just had someone pick my lock and steal my expensive air conditioning unit and check books. The on-site manager told me that liability is excluded in the contract and I'm basically out of luck. Offered zero help whatsoever. I've seen people go into the facility before closing and I'm certain they allow people to live in units. I'm very disappointed and will be moving units as soon as possible. If you want a secure storage unit go somewhere else, this place isn't safe. read more

Not only does this company have EXCELLENT customer service, but they are VERY affordable. I have been renting from them for over two years now and EACH and every interaction I have with their employees has been pleasant and professional. They have a very customer friendly website, you can make payments online and they even call you to remind you of your payment if your dude date is approaching. I paid a visit to Extra Storage today based upon previous yelp reviews in the Huntington Beach area, where I needed to store some gear. Also checked their website and others to confirm their prices were as good or better for the size unit I need then any local competitor. Usually the best price doesn't come with the best service. But I was so happy with the service and prices provided by Joe and Susan that I booked a 10 x 15 first-floor space immediately, and for a price less than second-floor spaces elsewhere. Wow so I started storing here back in December and I got a unit that was upstairs and the lift couldn't accommodate my big bulky furniture. What a pain in my butt. I then had to change units after already purchasing one and it was a hassle like no other! After 8 months of paying an arm and a leg for a grimey and weirdly set up storage unit which is dirty dusty and dark and there is a man who is there every time I visit my storage unit and he's working on his arsenal of bicycles while leaving all of his tools and multiple bikes in the aisle way to get through to my storage unit. After misplacing my keys I asked if they could assist me to cut a lock and they said it's $75! I asked if I could cut off myself and she said "NO" I don't want to pay someone to cut a small lock when I can do it myself and just replace the padlock. I asked if I refused to pay the $75 and decide to move my stuff to another storage unit how would I get the lock off if you will not allow me to cut it? So I'm leaving this dirty overpriced storage unit that has the pettiest rules about removing locks if you lose your key. I started moving furniture professionally in 2014 and I did so for years as well as moving my self in and out of different apartments and homes since I was orphaned. I have never in my life been hit up to pay $75 to remove a lock and be told I couldn't do it myself. On sheer principle I hate this place, I've made all my payments on time and I've been a clean and courteous customer but now after not helping me out I only have negative things to say about this place. Wow what a rip off! In addition I have been trying to call and see when my last day is so I can come get my belongings but they have blocked me on the phone lines, it will make a noise like an old AOL dial system how shady and petty this place is! read more

Extra Storage in Huntington Beach is the best, I had not personally used a storage facility before and the whole process was quick easy and painless. Richard who works on the weekends was so sweet and helpful making sure I had a unit close to the elevator and explaining how to maxamize a smaller unit rather than getting a larger unit at a higher price. The cost was also a lot less than some other places I checked into. I also had some dealings with the owners who were just so friendly and helpful. The whole place is just so clean and well protected. I only had to use the storage for about 9 months but if i need to again i will definitely use this facility. read more

I've been a customer of Extra Storage in H.B. for about 6 years and have been very pleased with the facility. More importantly, Joe, Susan and their staff are very friendly, professional and jump at the chance to assist you if you need help. We are getting rid of most of the contents in our unit and no longer need to space, but had some questions before vacating our unit. I went online to send the folks at Extra an email inquiring about their protocol when discontinuing service. Within minutes of sending my email, Susan replied connecting the dots, thanking me for my patronage, letting me know how much she appreciated my business, hoping that our paths would cross again and wishing me and my family well. yes its cheap and what not but DO NOT STORE the stuff you love and things that are important to you at Extra Storage in HB on Sampson Ln. I was a customer of theirs for almost ten years. This storage was a time capsule of the family life me and my three children had once upon a time. Ten years!!! well if you have difficult times and get behind, yet you call and assure them you will pay like you always have in the past. I was a great customer they made money from me with late fees, fees for clipping my locks numerous times. I always came in and paid hundreds of dollars at a time, $700 or $800 well this time it was only $500 something, I called and told them I would be paying it tomorrow........... I accidently slept in (single mom three kids, two jobs) guess what? AUCTIONED, SOLD ALL OUR MEMORIES GONE. this is devastating and so sad. How does a business with so called nice managers or owners, just do that to someone who's been there so long?? I didn't abandoned it, its not like I just disappeared and never paid??? oh ya and one reason could be "STORAGE WARS" was a regular customer to this location in the past year. You want to have lots of units for a tv show even if its your loyal long term customer of ten years who always came in and paid. I am just real disappointed and hurt and so upset of everything our family lost and for what? I was a few hours late so just screw me and sell all my family possessions and memories. I spoke with her the day before, I had the money :( fair warning DONT RENT STORAGE UNITS AT EZ STORAGE HB ON SAMPSON LN. They seem nice but that really is not the case.
