Excellent on all fronts, but an extra shoutout for a couple of the staff. Exceptional attentive service from Claudia and Adrian. All staff were great, but these two tended to every need efficiently, and so respectful & polite. Adrian gave great advice and information on bus tours, and where to get tickets. Paula was a superb server. I really appreciate her attention to detail and careful confirmation on each item ordered. The host (light brown to blonde haired young lady), was so courteous and that was the buy in. So she got customers in the door and seated smoothly. Lovely service from the start. For food, I had the roast chicken sandwich minus bacon jam, which came with really hot hot and freshly cooked, non-greasy fries. The double shot cappuccino was silky smooth, and the restaurant very comfortable, and relaxing on a very hot humid day. Only one small gripe, and that is regarding the salt cellars. All of them are clogged due to high humidity, so moisture, despite grains of rice in them to try and absorb the moisture. My suggestion would be to provide little packets of salt instead. I will definitely go back one day for dinner as suggested by Adrian, since I had late lunch today on my trip to Miami, but I live in Irvine in Southern California. read more

This is my new favorite spot in Miami! The outdoor deck decor is absolutely splendid! In the daytime, the shade from the trees provides a welcome break from the beautiful Miami sun. Since the outdoor seating is nestled amongst the trees, it makes you feel like you're eating in a private oasis, with Collins just a few steps away. In the evening, the charming lights hung throughout the trees instantly elevate the outdoor seating, and give this place a sophisticated and intimate feel. The food is fresh, healthy, and cooked to order. I ordered the Chopped Chicken Cobb salad for lunch, and it was PERFECTION! Freshly grilled chicken, fresh avocado, fresh crisp lettuce...YUMMY (and more importantly, healthy!)! Service is just as impeccable as the food and decor. My server was attentive and beyond kind. He let me take my time to enjoy my experience: the gorgeous views (both people and the clear skies), the weather (a nice snuggly 79 degrees at the time -I was visiting from chilly Los Angeles), and the food (tasty and fresh)! Extra Virgin was a last minute find for dinner that ended up being a real treat. Party of 2 - we had just finished up an afternoon of shopping at all our favorite stores along the Lincoln Road Mall shopping strip and hadn't thought about where we might want to have dinner and some cocktails. We decided we wanted to try some place off the Lincoln Road Mall plaza but still within a short walk - we were looking for someplace a bit elevated and hoped to find a sit-down where we could dine outdoors as the weather was beautiful, sunny with a bit of a breeze. Checked Yelp and found Extra Virgin a short walk away from where we were with great reviews so we headed over. Note: You are able to make OpenTable reservations and I always highly recommend making reservations whenever you can, just in case. Good to know for future visits. That evening, fortunately, we didn't need a reservation. The outside dining area around 730PM on a Saturday night surprisingly had many tables available and we were able to grab a two top along the front of the patio area facing Collins Ave. I would highly recommend outside dining vs inside - check out my pics - the outside dining patio is on trend, elegant and beautiful. When the sun goes down, the soft lighting makes the patio area sparkle and glow. Sit back and relax. It's an incredible ambiance for a casual relaxing dinner over one of their signature cocktails or a glass of wine. I ordered the Linguini Walnut Pesto (no protein) for $29 with a glass of Malbec for $12. My dining companion ordered the Chicken Diavola $35 which came with brocolini. She also had a 1610 Collins, one of their signature cocktails for $16. While we waited for our entrees, we enjoyed our wine and cocktail along with a complimentary bread basket (ask for it as it sounds like it's not offered unless you ask). Just wish they had brought out the classic olive oil and parmesan cheese with the basket - we were too lazy to ask lol so we just went without - but ask for it! We soaked in the Miami sun as it was going down for the day. The outside front patio has beautiful trees all around that provide shade as well as beautiful rattan lanterns for decor and soft warm lighting. The restaurant is right on (the West side of) Collins Avenue with decent people watching opportunities. Both entrees were delicious. My Linguini Walnut Pesto was tasty and flavorful. Not too sauced up but just the right amount of pesto coating the pasta. The pasta was perfectly al dente and the portion size while not gargantuan was decent sized (see my pic). A little surprised they didn't serve my dish with a spoon for twirling the noodles - there wasn't even a spoon that came with the table setting which I thought was a bit odd. The Chicken Diavola was delicious - the chicken was slow roasted, super moist and flavorful - I had a taste of my friend's dish and I agree with her, it was so good. She wished (and I agree) that for $35, it had included a starchy side - potato, rice, quinoa, pasta... That would have really completed the entree and meal. The evening was lovely, the outside dining ambience was magical, the vibe was elevated casual, not stuffy and service was adequate. I liked that we didn't feel rushed or pressured to eat and run (probably due to it not being very busy). NOTE: BILL INCLUDES AN AUTOMATIC 18% GRATUITY - something we found was a standard practice with restaurants in Miami Beach and South Miami coming out of covid so check your bill carefully wherever you go to AVOID DOUBLE TIPPING! This place is dishonest. I went here for dinner and the server brought the payment device to my table. It was already on the total screen with the tip selection enabled. I did the tip based on 20% of the bill. The server neglected to tell me that 18% gratuity had already been added, meaning he basically gave himself another 20%, dishonestly. We started off having the crab dip. It was so tasty. You taste the pieces of crab. Then, we ordered a white pizza and a spicy rigatoni and a house salad. The white pizza was delicious, and you will truly enjoy it if you like mushrooms. The spicy rigatoni has a spicy kick, but it is very good. 100% recommend Extra Virgin. Despite there being a convention party being held at the time of our visit the staff was attentive and pleasant. Our server, Maria offered suggestions that were spot on. This place was okay. The large outdoor patio in front of the restaurant drew us in, along with the promise of house-made pastas. But the service was really off with our server despite being one of 3 tables occupied when we were seated. While another staff member regularly came around to fill our water, collect our empty plates, and generally clean up our table, our head waiter was very slow to introduce themselves, never refilled our wine glasses, and slow to take our orders for any of the courses we had. We also booked through OpenTable, which noted that certain wines were 50% on Mondays, but our server seemed not to know anything about this. The saving grace was the food was indeed good, although I found it interesting that there was no bread basket served. My friend and I both ordered small house salads to start, and then the spicy mezzi rigatoni and lobster ravioli for our entrees. The salad tasted fresh. The rigatoni and ravioli were very simply presented in bowls, but the house-made pastas made the flavors a little more interesting. We also shared the ice cream affogato for dessert. Again it was a bare presentation of a scoop of ice cream in a martini glass, but the flavors of the ice cream and espresso were good. I would probably hesitate to come back and dine in person given the prices seem to demand a level of service and quality that we didn't receive. The pastas were good but I'd be more inclined to order them for take out. read more

Staff was pleasant and ambiance was good. I dined outside along Collins Ave. where you can people-watch (for the good or bad) This restaurant, like many in Miami Beach, have this nasty habit of adding in your gratuity (in this case- 20%). I would not have added that much so I'm rather offended that someone tells me how much I need to add to the bill for a gratuity.
