Me and the girls had a great dining experience at Ocean Bistro while visiting! The ambiance was really nice perfect for a relaxed but elevated meal, especially if you're looking to enjoy good food in a great setting. We tried a variety of dishes, and overall everything was really enjoyable. The lobster pasta and mushroom tacos were both 8/10 flavorful and well-prepared. The shrimp Alfredo was also an 8/10, creamy and satisfying. The red snapper chef's special with shrimp and mushrooms was a 7.5/10 still good, but not a personal favorite compared to the others. The standout of the group was the branzino, which was a 9/10 perfectly cooked, fresh, and full of flavor. Overall, the food was solid across the board, and the experience was definitely worth it. I'd recommend this spot if you're in the area and want a nice meal with a variety of options to choose from. I'd come back to try more dishes! read more

We had an incredible experience at Ocean Bistro! We sat outside and had enjoyed the location near the ocean and being in a lively atmosphere. Our drinks were fun and tropical and we enjoyed the fresh guac as an appetizer. For our entrees we enjoyed the Seafood Grill and I absolutely recommend it for any seafood lovers! It's a perfect meal for a date night, and my fiancé and I felt it was the perfect amount of food and a great variety! Our desserts were great as well, minus the creme brûlée which was a bit too wet. The key lime pie was great though! The service was bit slow, but otherwise we had a great night and I recommend it to seafood lovers! read more

This is a gorgeous restaurant / bar with a one minuet walk to the beach. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Absolutely gorgeous ambiance. With wheelchair accessibility. The staff were extremely sweet and accommodating. For appetizers we had mozzarella sticks and seafood soup. The mozzarella sticks were as expected. The seafood soup was delicious and all the seafood was fresh. You have an option of a red or white soup base. We chose red it was extremely flavorful it didn't over power the seafood but balanced and enhanced all the fresh seafood in the soup. For entree we had the lobster ravioli which was perfectly made. The sauce was light , creamy , perfectly seasoned , the pasta tasted house made with fresh lobster in it. I cleaned this plate ! Next entree was the salmon and shrimp Alfredo. The Alfredo is 1000 percent house made light , creamy , and coated the perfectly cooked pasta. The salmon was in chunks and the shrimp was great. Lastly we had the pállela which was loaded with seafood. Everything was fresh which is on theme with everything we ate. The rice was well cooked I almost wish it was cooked hard in the bottom for some textural contrast to all the tender seafood but it was amazing regardless. The lemons were great to add some citrus to the dish For drinks my party had virgin blended mango drinks. I ordered a Lemon Drop Martini it was strong and great. Overall amazing experience and please be warned this is a higher class seafood restaurant in Miami with great real estate you will be opening that wallet but it will be worth it if you're a seafood lover. read more

The ambiance inside is elegant. The waiter we had was prompt and checked on us once. I ordered an Aperol Spritz which tasted watered down, I didn't finish it. My husband had a coke. We started with the Calamari, which we typically get at a lot of the restaurants we visit, it was very chewy and tasted frozen with no flavor. The dinners we ordered were bland and Luke warm. We ordered the Golden Grouper with mashed potatoes and vegetables, and the Fish Piccata with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Both of our dinners were the same, the fish was hot enough but the sides like warm and all lacked flavor. We both left half the food on the plate, which we never do!! Ate here twice in one day! By accident, but not sad about it! Being by the beach, you expect it to be a bit pricey, and the first time we just ran in from the rain. We had drinks and their homemade hummus and it was wonderful. Later in the day we did research and without remembering the name, we picked Ocean Bistro for dinner. My lobster ravioli was amazing and his pizza was great too. It has a dark, calming European feel inside and outside seating too with more of that casual vibe. We chose to dine outside, and for starters, we shared the fried calamari and a Greek salad with tomatoes, green bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, Kalamta olives, and feta cheese. My hubby and I both ordered the Frutti di Mare - with fresh calamari, shrimp, mussels and clams, I had mine with the white wine garlic sauce and hubby had his with the red sauce. I was hoping to get breakfast but that had ended so I wasn't too thrilled but to my surprise I really enjoyed the lunch. The brochettes had excellent flavor, and my Greek salad was delicious they use lemon in the dressing which was a good addition to the flavor. We dined outside so I'm not sure of the inside ambiance but I must say the outside chairs were comfortable, the table was decorated with gold and beige colored table set and plates. And the table umbrella provided great shade. The service was good not much interaction due to the language barrier, no issues he got the job done and I don't mind the tip being automatically placed on the bill as long as you carry out the service as you should. read more

Oh. Wanted to like this spot so much considering the reviews. We got there right at noon and ate on the sidewalk, which was really cool for people watching. The ambience is your typical ocean dr cafe ... the service was honestly absent. When he was there, he was very sweet, but that was probably like twice out of our whole service. But the reason why I gave this a one star was one because the server was nice when he was there, but the food was absolutely disgusting. The calamari was chewy, I ordered the swordfish and it was very fishy. My husband ordered the red snapper. It was very dry and very fishy. Even the vegetables tasted off. My son ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which was OK for pasta with marinara. Other than that nothing about this place was great and I wouldn't go back sadly. 200 bucks wasted. read more

We'd spent several hours wandering up and down Miami Beach, so we'd worked up quite an appetite. After passing several restaurants and suffering from serious indecision, we wound up at Ocean Bistro. We should've kept looking. We decided to share a couple of things, the Fried Calamari ("Crispy fried calamari with classic spicy housemade marinara sauce") and a Cavalier salad ("mixed greens, grilled chicken, crispy bacon, avocado, boiled egg, tomatoes, blue cheese"). We weren't in the mood for blue cheese, so we asked for it to be omitted. But that turned out to be a mistake, as the salad arrived without any dressing. Obviously we would've asked for a substitute dressing had we known the blue cheese referred to the dressing. I was annoyed because why wouldn't our server ask if we wanted a different dressing? Why did she blindly accept that we wanted a salad without any dressing? Did we look like complete psychos? Anyway, we asked for a replacement dressing and after hearing balsamic, we decided to go with that, which prompted our server to bring out a container of pure balsamic vinegar. This lady isn't too bright, it seems. The components in the salad were just a mixed bag. The lettuce and bacon were fine, but the grilled chicken was overcooked to the point where it was chewier than leather. As for the calamari, it was cooked well (i.e. no rubbery pieces) but it had been prepared well before we actually received it, so it wasn't even remotely hot. It was barely warm. It's always a little baffling when you have an experience this mediocre, as there are so many other options for people to choose from. read more

Chosen based on it's location to our hotel and our love of seafood. They've got a pretty darned good menu, quite a selection. I chose the Fish Piccata - not only do I love dolphin, but the piccata is one of my favorites! It did not disappoint and the serving size was perfect. I'm trying to remember what my dining companions ordered - I believe that one ordered Gnocchi and the other ordered Snapper. Both enjoyed their dishes, as well. I was disappointed in the service - I waited until I got home to do the review, which was a good thing because it appears that our lack of service here is pretty much what we experienced while in Miami Beach. We were never asked how our meal was, nor were we asked if we wanted another drink (we would have ordered, had we been asked). They waited quite long to approach us after we were done eating, I do appreciate that they didn't want to rush us but by the time our wait person finally checked back in wall we wanted was the check. I was in the restaurant business for a number of years, as well as being the child of restauranteurs, they not only lose out on income with this kind of service but no matter how good the food is I'll likely not go back to any of these restaurants because we did feel neglected at each of them. And since this seems to be how restaurants on Ocean Drive operate, I'm not sure that this is where I'll want to spend my next MIA vacation. read more
