Pornstar Martini

Made a reservation for a large group of 8 while in town after a friend shared a video of their Molten Chicken Parm from the prior evening. We had a perfect table on the patio with impeccable people watching. We were sad our meals were not poured on top in front of us but given it was 8 orders it made sense for the magic to happen in the kitchen. Everything was amazing and we all highly recommend!

The News Cafe has always held a bit of a mystique for me as the late, great Gianni Versace would walk down for his morning newspaper. When I'm in town, I inevitably find myself drawn to the location and in all fairness, it's the only place you can get a light quiet breakfast. It's reasonably priced for Miami and still carries its original charm compared to the cookie cutter restaurants that surround it.

We have enjoyed breakfast at the News since late 90's. Sad when it closed in the Pandemic and delighted finding it reopened at the same location. Nothing stays the same but Valentines Breakfast today felt great. My wife loves the yogurt and fruit bowls. She suggests vanilla yogurt. I had the 'Big Breakfast'. Next time french toast. Service wonderful. Ambiance good as ever. Hint: you can still buy your sweetie the black News TShirts.

Very good simple Avacado Toast. Pricey place for breakfast. Service was great and coffee was very good.

News Cafe...one of the OG's on the beach..yes they have a plaque honoring Gianni Versace, yes they still have some newspapers (remember those?) and the men's bathroom has a picture of the great Antonio Montana. Service is pleasant but laid back, and they still have the a20% automatic gratuity. All that being said, this Sunday's visit definitely earned it and an extra. I stopped by for lunch this Sunday Beach Day, after checking out their much streamlined new menu. It's been reduced some since the days of yore, but since my friends know I had been fiending a good red sauce pasta dish, their Volcano Chicken Parm caught my eye. I sat down, ordered my (pretty decently blended) mojito, and sipped it while people watching. Next thing I know, my server brings a large plate with grilled chicken occupying major amounts of plate real estate, a helping of pasta and a big pot of something. This delicious melted bechamel of melted cheese and red sauce was the perfect blend of "Sunday Gravy" that would have another famous (cinematic) entrepreneur (the owner of Satriale's #iykyk) very happy. It was well flavored and very generously portioned. I did leave a little space for the bread pudding waffle dessert (hit the spot and could be a meal itself) as a closing shot of Wooford Reserve. I'm glad I rediscovered News Cafe!

Had breakfast here while in South Beach- the place is cute and sits right on Ocean drive- indoor and outdoor seating. The server was great- friendly and accommodating of any requests to sub items. The breakfast was tasty and filling- portions were a nice size. The Oat milk lattes were really good and well made. I subbed an egg white omelet and picked the filling- no problems- so far in the area, this is the best breakfast!

Elmer, our server was friendly , accommodating and checked on us without hovering.. when our group went from 3-9 people he pivoted and handled everyone with the same welcoming attitude he had with us. The food was fresh and good, espresso shots not overly acidic, they have alt milk options. Playlist was great.. music always adds to the mood. There are stairs to get to The restrooms And the inside where you can purchase souvenirs with the famous cafe logo. Overall great experience.

One of the best eateries on Ocean. The staff is fun, the area is perfect for views, the prices are fair and the food is great! I could go on but it's a simple fact, you wouldn't regret stopping here. Can't wait to go back! Kids, vegetarian friendly!

The restaurant has a history with Gianni Versace, so that adds to its intrigue. However, the food was a little lackluster. Tomato soup was ok and the grilled cheese was short on cheese. Service was all business.

We had a fantastic breakfast at this restaurant! I made reservations, but we came an hour early after coming off a cruise. They accommodated us without an issue and we sat outside and enjoyed the lovely scenery and fans they had outside to keep you comfortable. Our server, Hugo, was great! He was friendly, attentive and provided excellent recommendations. We had the News Cafe breakfast with the Pina colada pancakes. All the food was good, but the pancakes were particularly impressive. The belini was also very refreshing and not too sweet. This is a spot I would definitely visit again in Miami.

Cocktails? Fire. Ambiance? Charming. Our server? The best! (Shoutout Hugo) A MUST SEE when in Miami. Fair portions and quality food!!!

One of the historic cafes in Miami, perfect spot on Ocean Dr, walking distance for us. We always stop by from breakfast to dinner it's a very nice spot. The service is very friendly and the food never disappointed us.

We only had drinks here, but the folks working couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly. Neat bar inside, but it's a lively place to sit and watch the world go by - and a place of some historic note as well. If you're strolling down Ocean, hit News Cafe for a drink after you do the Front Porch at the Betsy. You'll probably like News Cafe better.

I was genuinely surprised to have some of the best wings I've ever had in my life. Top 5 for sure. Drinks were 50/50 between our table. Some of us liked them a lot and others did not. I would recommend only for the surprisingly great and seemingly way above-par food, but not if you're looking for any specific "experience"

Front Porch has always been a spot we dined at, mostly for breakfast, but sometimes lunch and dinner. At times, we would stay at the Z Hotel just for Front Porch. Unfortunately, that has changed, and I would never go back or accept a free meal or service--imagine that, never accept a free meal in Miami. The service was bad, actually the waiter was fair to ok, but the bleach blonde older server consumed the air out of the room. She was grumpy, not engaging, and when she spoke her voice was so deep and off putting that it frightened me. The culinary offerings, reminds me of a hospital cafeteria from the 80s/90s . The worst part was the theming and lack of ambiance. It felt like a seedy nightclub or raggedy adult club you have to take a shower after leaving. I had to apologize to wife for such a poor experience. Bad husband! Also, I believe the operation was being managed or run by a small family of 4/5 people with no hospitality, culinary, or service experience. Finally, for $100, I never have to go there again. Front Porch, RIP. Sorry...

First and foremost, do not waste your time or money coming here…read more As a Miami native, I was genuinely disappointed by both the food and the level of service. Unfortunately, neither lived up to expectations. We started with the "jumbo" wings, which were anything but jumbo. We received only flats, and they were some of the smallest wings I've ever been served. After bringing this to the staff's attention, we were told the manager would take 50% off the order. However, when the bill arrived, we were informed that the manager had already left and the discount could no longer be honored. Instead, we were given only the $4 happy hour discount, despite being promised otherwise. For our entrées, we ordered the brisket sandwich and the half chicken. Neither was worth ordering. The chicken lacked the crispy texture it was advertised to have, and the brisket was bland and without flavor. The sandwich was also supposed to come with truffle fries, but instead we were served cold, plain fries. After mentioning it, the solution was to bring us a side of truffle oil and Parmesan cheese and ask us to mix it ourselves. The service was equally disappointing. We asked our server twice for drink refills, but she never brought them. We eventually had to flag down another server just to get our beverages refilled. Overall, this was a frustrating dining experience from start to finish. Between the poor-quality food, unfulfilled promises regarding the bill, and inattentive service, this restaurant fell well below the standard I would expect from a Miami establishment. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one. I sincerely hope management addresses these issues because the current level of food quality and customer service is simply unacceptable. and quality is embarrassing for miami.

We were seated right next to the pool, but our table happened to be directly in front of the spot where everyone stopped to take photos. At first it felt a little odd, but it quickly became entertaining and added to the fun atmosphere. We stayed in the Azure suite, Our room was stunning and was ready a few hours early, which allowed us to start enjoying our stay right away with a bottle of bubbly the hotel sent up. We changed into our swimsuits and headed straight to the pool. The next morning was my favorite part of the stay, since only hotel guests have access to the pool before the restaurant opens, it was much quieter and the perfect way to enjoy such a beautiful setting. The only downside was that the hotel is extremely loud at night. We knew what to expect from reading previous reviews, so it wasn't a surprise, but it's worth mentioning. I was also a little disappointed by the restaurant service, which felt indifferent and not especially welcoming. Despite those drawbacks, the beauty, history, and overall experience made for a memorable stay!
