I am a classical musician who performs a lot, so after my old black suit started to deteriorate, I decided to try out Valentin's for a higher quality suit. His in-house brand is fantastic in its quality and value. I am tall and thin (6'1", 165 lbs.), and the more "European" cut fit perfectly. He really knows what he is doing, and is accommodating to all sizes and budgets. After this, I also bought a navy blue suit from him, which I asked to have shipped to my apartment in Baltimore. However, due to covid, shipping was delayed. Valentin called me personally at every step of the shipping process to let me know where my suit was and when he estimated it would arrive. When it arrived, I didn't even need to have it pressed, as it was clearly packed by someone who knew what they were doing. After doing some research and being heavily influenced by social media, I landed on Hokas for my budget, the longevity, and their ubiquity. You will get paired with a salesperson upon arrival no matter what your intent is, so go in expecting that. I had heard good things about the fitting so I did that, got my cute little report, and tried on a bunch of different shoes. The salesperson was great about going and getting different sizes, etc - I just feel uncomfortable with that level of 1:1 attention/eyes on me when making a purchasing decision, so that was more of a con to me than a pro. No room to breathe and make a decision. They were also busy and I felt like an imposition somehow? Vibe was a bit off. ANYWAYS - it would have been more helpful if the salesperson had simply asked what I was looking for and allowed me to peruse before running in the back to get shoes - I could have saved myself some time and left a little less frustrated. They won't have all the colors available, and I knew I wanted plain black and white...which they didn't have in store. It was still good to try stuff on, but I was hoping to get the shoes that day. Luckily I was able to order directly from the Hoka website (free shipping!) and they came within three days. I feel really bad about not being able to make my purchase through the store, but I look forward to continuing to utilize Fleet Feet for all my other running needs as we get closer to race day! Before I left the mechanic asked if I rode my bike with a helmet and I said "no"so he gave me one and said I wouldn't have to pay for it if I promise to use it. They also made sure my bike had a bell :) They gave me a pink slip and said that I can come back for repairs for free any time with my bike purchase. ( they already repair bikes for free so I'm not really sure if I needed the slip?) but it's nice to know that I have free Maintenance on this bike for the rest of its life. :) I'm so glad I stumbled upon this gem. The proceeds go to a great cause. They give away bikes back to the community at events they hold. All the workers are super and nice and are also volunteers. I brought my broken bike in here and they fixed it quickly for me. If you are looking for a place to have your bike fixed or buy an old bike, this is definitely the place for you. Also if you would like to pick up a great skill this store also trains volunteers on how to fix bikes. The volunteers can also work in the front office and the bike give away events.
