Very informative, explained what they were doing and what they saw, and allowed me to make informed choices when there were some to be made. Also, they'll adjust your glasses at any time. My frames have stretched some, and I waited until my appointment to ask about it. They said next time, just stop by and they'll do it right then! I have been going to this specific location for quite a few years, once a year for a specialized eye test with 2 special machines that not many optometry places have. The staff is always nice and it is clean. I am usually able to get scheduled in a reasonable amount of time. The only reason I gave a four is that the machine has went on the blitz several times in the middle of the testing. They have gotten it worked out during those times but I despise the testing because it takes longer than a typical test so I've had to prolong the testing. read more

I absolutely love this place! Several years ago I was looking for a medical eye appt for our daughter with juvenile arthritis and found this great place! All of their eye doctor can do the special exam to look for blindness caused by juvenile arthritis. Then, our son received an appt to a US service academy and needed to be seen by a special doctor and wouldn't you know it again it was eye associates! Besides, these special services they also take care of our eye check ups. This visit our usual Dr. , Whom we love Was full so I was referred to Dr. Diggs who was amazing, he took the time to explain everything so well. And additionally, the person who helped select my glasses was so very sweet and helpful! I highly recommend eye associates they truly are an awesome place! I've been a patient with Eye Associates of Leawood for several years. I've always been happy with the practice. However recently I had a problem with the adjustment with my glasses. It was bad. I literally went into the office 6 times in 1 week. It got to the point they weren't ever going to fit again. Austin went above and beyond to help me. He was fantastic during the entire adjustment debacle, but when it came time to finding a pair that fit me better, he was so helpful. Explained why some frames are better than others as far as weight and fit. I found a new pair relatively quickly. This placed used to be 5 stars for me when I first started coming here for contacts/glasses 4-5 years ago. Dr. Baker continues to be 5 stars. However, over the years, their techs/opticians have made quite a few mistakes in my lens prescriptions, I've been given the wrong prescription for contact trial lenses (ordered for pick-up as they did not have my strength in the office) a few times now. I want to go to an optometrist office instead of Costco because I want better, professional advice/guidance when it comes to picking out the right frame for my needs. But I have not had the best luck getting that kind of assistance. Just "this wall is unisex, that wall is women's, ..." etc. I currently have issues with lenses on glasses I first started pursuing back in October/November 2022. Now, close to March 2023, I still have problems with the lenses/prescription. Chad in the lab is incredibly condescending, rude, and cuts you off when you are explaining the concerns (I have encountered this twice with him now). He had ordered a different material for my lenses, but I really don't see myself going back despite my continued problems. Ill be going elsewhere from now on. read more

Worst thing about this place is getting your prescription. It takes the office 2-3 weeks for a contact order. Most places are available within a week. They'll also tell you it's a HIPPA violation to email your information to you. But it's not. It's just their policy. read more

This was recommended to me from a co-worker. It was her first eye dr visit and it was mine to. My wait was a little longer than expected but from there it was seamless. One associate took my eye measurements and did some test. I was then lead to a room and talked with the dr. She was very nice and talked to me in terms with I could understand. She asked my questions to help understand my needs. My last stop was picking out my frames. Again the associate was informative with what my insurance would cover and the prices of the frames I was considering. I went back 2 weeks later and the technician help fit me with my glasses. Dr. Siefkes and his staff are all very personable, professional, and knowledgeable. They follow current safety covid protocols which makes both patients and staff as safe as possible these days. They have a wide selection of frames to choose from and very capable staff to help get the perfect fit. I had to get cataract surgery. I utilized the facility he recommended and found the same quality of care. Dr. Siefkes remained involved in the process, adding both a continuity of care and a feeling of security that my eyesight is highly valued by both organizations. I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. I would recommend Eye Associates to anyone, and have. No one I recommended to them have ever had a negative thing to say. My first time visiting eye associates in overland park i had an ok experience! I didnt wait long before i was called back to start the process. One thing i think they could do better is give me some sort of warning when using machines to start eye exam. Warning for the bright flash of light! and it would of been nice to be warned that a surprising spurt of air would hit my eye haha My Dr. was fantastic, very friendly and nice. I've been to the store multiple times to pick up the same pair of glasses. They have mistaken the prescription and have to redo that. They have placed the focal spots in the glasses incorrectly so that they didn't work. They've kept me waiting over an hour each time I come. They insulted my wife for having a child with her when coming to the store saying that she didn't belong here. Overall, staff are unprofessional, not competent at either prescribing or making glasses, and inefficient keeping patrons waiting. This is my experience from the past six visits. read more

They're so friendly here. I went here as a child and about a month ago I walked in on a whim (it was a lovely day and I was on a walk to starbucks) and I made an appointment. I was lucky to get an appointment with Dr. Andrea...she was so lovely! She took the time to answer my questions and I walked out of that room smarter about eye health than I was when I came in. Their glasses selection is great but honestly a bit out of my price range even with great vision insurance. I used to like them fine but their only way of addressing COVID is to force people to wait HOURS in their cars. No system of specific appointments for things like picking up your new glasses. Staff has also become very unwelcoming and unfriendly, make you feel like they REALLY don't want you there. And all this continues AFTER the state, city, and county have dropped occupancy limits and social distancing requirements. They need to find a way to WELCOME their clients, not shun and greatly inconvenience them. read more

The staff is very knowledgeable and they measured my eyes and provided me with quality lenses to update my prescription in my own frame. EA of OP have a good assortment of frames to choose from and having the laboratory right on site expedited the process of getting your new "eyeballs". I did a last minute pop in to look for new frames. I was very pleased to see all the measures in place for COVID-19 from limiting people in office, temp check, hand washing. Found a super cute frame with help from Gabby! She was so helpful, knowledgeable, and provided that extra opinion I needed to find the right frame for my face! She also listened closely to my needs and helped me find the best options based on budget which is greatly appreciated during these stressful times. My glasses were broken and I was going to have to wait over a month for an appointment at my local optometrist. On a whim my husband called Eye Associates. He talked with Scott, he was very kind and sympathetic about my momentary lack of vision. Scott was able to get us in much sooner than expected. On the day of my appointment I was running late. In the past if I had ever run late to various medical appointments I was generally met with censure and plain old rudeness, so I was was dreading the appointment as I drove into town. However, when I arrived the staff was very professional, kind and helpful. Dr. Green was quick and very detailed in his explanations, explaining things that doctors generally don't take the time to do. I normally just take my prescription to Costco and get frames there, but Jinny was able to help me pick out a pair of glasses that have become my absolute favorite! Not only was the staff incredibly nice and down to earth, they were extremely professional. While I was there every person in that office helped serve me in one aspect or another. They all worked together as an efficient team. They were not only able to give me a quality product, but a quality experience. When I left the building my car wouldn't start. One of their employees actually came out to give me a jump. It didn't seem like the my car was going to start. He stayed with me and kept working on it until he got it to start. I wish I knew his name because I am so appreciative. What could have been a nightmare day, turned out to be a wonderful day, because of this great crew of people. My family has been going here for years. I think over 10 years. It is a very well-run office. I can generally get an appointment quickly - they have several doctors at this location - and the front desk help is very pleasant. There is minimal wait when coming for an appointment. I have never ordered glasses through this location, but we have ordered contacts numerous times. They always provide forms and receipts for rebates. How many times do you typically have to go to an eye place to get your glasses that you can see out of properly? Three. Times. And I'm still not sure that I have good glasses, it's just that I am too frustrated to go back. All I want is a pair of glasses that I can see out of without getting a headache. That's it. The technician kept telling me how "light" of a prescription I had, so it's not like I have anything drastically wrong with my eyes. Here's a list of what happened. 1. Eye exam, nice new glasses. 2. Major headaches, can't wear glasses. Technician changes specs on lenses. 3. Major headaches. Eye exam redone, new lenses. The technicians are on the whole especially incompetent. For the second pair of glasses the technician said I needed an optical centering. Well, the glasses I got from them two years ago (before this whole debacle...I don't know why I came back) also needed optical centering. So none of the techs took the time to look up my file. I guess they don't care about replacing lenses willy nilly, since they've done it for me quite a few times. Wonder what their expense report looks like... Also, really ridiculous hours. What business literally closes down an hour for lunch? Look at all of the pictures of their optometrists, and tell me that they can't stagger their lunches so they can stay open. Save yourself time and money and go to Lenscrafters or Costco. Please. I wonder how many pairs of glasses/contacts these dunderheads have screwed up, and how many people are suffering because of it. read more
