It has been a long time since my last review so I thought I'd update this! The last time I went to see Dr. Krannawitter I had such a wonderful experience and that was 5 years ago. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and unsurprisingly I had the same experience. The staff at Krannawitter eye care are super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Of course, Dr. Krannawitter herself is great and quick. I've tried other optometrists in the area but Dr. Krannawitter is patient and really listens to your eye needs. My husband and I have been patients of Krannawitter and Groff Optometrists for the past five years. In that time we have seen both Drs. for our regular yearly exams as well as once for an emergency visit. Both Drs. Krannawitter and Groff are professional and plesant to work with. The office seems to run efficiently - between our contacts/glasses orders and billing our insurance I have never experienced an issue. When I had an emergency situation I went to the office without an appointment and Dr. Groff worked me into her schedule. The Drs. offer a wide selection of frames to choose from at all different price points and I have, on occasion, spent the better part of an hour browsing. The staff will, if asked, offer a second opinion on your selection - and I appreciate their honesty. Dr. Krannawitter was quite helpful when fitting my contact lenses - spending extra time to show me how to put them in and then giving me an overview on how to properly care for them. I am an existing patient and started going to this Dr. Krannawitter since she is close to my office in corporate woods and she take VSP. I love the staff and ease of appointment times. the technology they have to take a picture of your retina and not dialate your eyes is conventient for me and makes me rest easy with this way to look behind my eye. I have a family history of maculardegeneration and am worried about it, but with this image i can have a base line Overall great experience. read more

I stared off seeing Dr. Groff years ago until she moved and then I moved to Lawrence. I had always loved their service and eye wear selection. After my dog destroyed my favorite pair of glasses I had bought at Dr. Krannawitter's former office, I had a hard time finding frames in Lawrence that I liked. So one morning I popped into the new location on Pflumm. I was so impressed with what they'd done with that building. Of course, their eyewear selection was still amazing. The staff were friendly and informative, just as they had been 5 years ago. Bummed I didn't have a current glasses prescription to order the frames that I'd found there and loved, staff were able to squeeze me into an appointment right then so that I could go ahead and order my glasses that day. Dr. Kranawitter is very kind and personable. The exam was comprehensive and there was no pressure to try additional expensive services that would be unnecessary based on my age and history. My glasses arrived quickly. Even if you love your eye doctor, I think their eye wear selection alone is worth stopping in for. read more

I don't want to bring the ratings down on this place. And I will note upfront that the atmosphere was nice. The doctor was very attentive. The hours were also fantastic. I was able to get a late appointment on a weekday (in and out). Reception desk very friendly However, I was very disappointed in the cost. I went for a standard exam. And since, they can replace lenses in-house, I thought maybe I could save money by just having lenses replaced in my OLD frames. I was surprised when the total came close to $400 I have had eye exams and brand NEW designer glasses that cost the same. I never refuted the total. And maybe I should have just opted for a brand new pair. But for this reason, I will not be a returning customer. I give it 4 instead of 3 stars for having so many other positives. read more

We have been patients for the past 10 years. To be fair, we started with Dr. K's partner who later moved, but we never once thought about leaving the practice. Dr. Krannawitter helped educate us on when our kids needed to first see a pediatric Optomestrist and we are so glad she did. Our oldest was diagnosed at 3 years old with a medical eye issue and we were able to quickly resolve. Our children have now been going to that pediatric dr for 8 years and we had to make the decision to switch their care for insurance reasons. We didn't hesitate to immediately call Dr. K and get them added as patients!! I understand the comment about cost; however, we've never had issues as long as we consider what insurance will and won't pay for and I'm willing to pay a little more for such exceptional coverage and care. Had a great first visit with Dr. K. She was patient with me, and explained all my questions (which were plentiful). I feel like it was one of the best eye exams I've had in a while, and I've been seeing various optometrists at least annually for 25+ years. The staff was great, and we're able to schedule appointments for both my husband and I in very short order. I think we were in the office within 2 weeks from calling, and even got a Saturday morning spot! I'm super picky with my glasses, ad found a gorgeous pair of frames. Can't wait to pick them up! Nicest optometrists I've ever been to. I was recommended to them by a coworker in Overland Park and enjoyed nearly 6 years of great care! They are excellent when it comes to gas permeable contacts (not every clinic specializes on these) and Dr. Groff worked with me to find the right brand of solution that worked for my eyes. You're never a number at this cozy practice, and you won't regret the visit. read more

My family loved going to Dr. Krannawitter and were very sad when we relocated to Atlanta, GA last year. We found a new eye doctor in the Atlanta metro for this year's prescription. Unfortunately, my glasses have been redone twice and I am having such a challenge with my contacts with this new office. For the record, I have been wearing both contacts and glasses (now progressives) for more than 30 years and have never had any issues. I called Dr. Krannawitter out of frustration. I figured that if she and her staff told me that the changes in my contacts and glasses were normal for my age, I would believe them! From 800 miles away and a different time zone, Rachel and Tracy reviewed my chart from my last year's appointment as well as this year's prescription information from my new doctor. They very calmly gave me information on how to remedy my issue with specific questions to ask my new doctor and suggestions to correct my prescription, different measurements, etc. I am so grateful! I was looking for a place to buy glasses in KC area, so I checked out Yelp and found several places with good reviews. I visited several and wasn't really that impressed until I went to Krannawitter. What a fantastic surprise to find a someplace that not only has OUTSTANDING customer service, but also reasonble prices!! The people at Krannawitter are super nice and extremely helpful. I had worn the same style of frames for about 10 years and was ready for a change, but a little unsure and self-conscious about trying something new. They made great suggestions and helped me pick out new frames that were different, but not too different (baby steps for me). The price was significantly lower than other places I visited, and comparable to some of the online places. Quality and convenience is so much better, and the customer service was excellent, so I'm a happy camper with new glasses! read more

I love this place! They have the best service and you are in and out in 20 minutes. Waiting time to see Dr. K. is less than a minute so you aren't wasting time in the waiting room playing candy crush for 20 minutes wondering why you didn't just make your appointment for 20 minutes later. Dr. Krannawitter and her staff are excellent. They provide eye care for my whole family and do as well with the pediatric exams as with the adult. She has fitted three of us with contact lenses and with good results. Their frame selection is impressive and they do a wonderful job with fittings.
